Not impressed with their ability to fill a U-Haul. Wish I would have called jnj labor force first! The guys were nice and worked hard, but they lacked experience. They left an hour early from the job because they "ran out of room" in the UHaul. I ended up filling it the rest up- there was definitely room. They also didn't use the blankets that were on EVERY single piece of furniture (to keep the furniture safe), which caused obvious scratches in our table and puncture in our leather couch. They also didn't take the time to take furniture pieces apart to fit more in the truck. Once again, nice guys. I'd hire them to move a heavy piece of furniture, but not depend on them for a move. I was originally told that a 2 man crew would show up. 3 actually came. Not a big deal but wasn't expecting the added cost. These guys unloaded a 20'x7' trailer into a 20'x10' storage unit. Not a single ounce of organizational skills between the three. After 1 hour they ran out of room in the storage unit. My wife and I had to reorganize the unit to get everything to fit. They worked one hour. Billed me for a 2 hour minimum and had the nerve to ask for a tip. read more

On moving day they showed up late, they broke a couple things, they left photos and an antique mirror in the driveway and they quit and left for the new house before they finished. We needed to move a large elliptical trainer from a place in Bend to Redmond. College Hunks was able to schedule us within only four days. They showed up with three strong guys and maneuvered the contraption upstairs around a hard turn. Their truck is extremely tall and had a hard time clearing some of the trees on our driveway. Declutrering. For me, in this chapter of my life, decluttering is one of my favorite things. It makes me happy to donate things that are in great condition so someone else can enjoy them. It makes me happy to recognize when things have lost their usefulness so they have to be discarded. I went to the Bend recycle/garbage dump before. It was a lot of work and took a lot of time to pack our Subaru to then unload it when we got to the dump. I mean I love to throw stuff out, and I am no stranger to hard work - but no. There was more than a car load to take and I was overwhelmed considering the time and effort needed to accomplish this project of mine. Then I remembered I used a junk service in the Bay Area before, and I really loved it! I used the handy dandy Yelp quote tool and chose College Hunks. The name is weird - but the actual service is pretty outstanding! They are not kidding when they tell you to pull up a chair and a drink and let the guys do all the work. And work they did. For hours. 2 separate visits in one week. They did all the heavy lifting while my husband and I addressed other tasks we needed to get done on our own around the house. I dare admit we did have a good amount of time to sit down and enjoy a beverage while the guys kept loading things and clearing rooms. The guys who came were clean cut, wore company uniforms, were polite and professional. They really worked so hard, I am thankful. I know you know the difference between someone merely doing a task vs. someone who genuinely wants to help you by doing said task well? That latter is the guys at College Hunks. The movers were polite but they did not ever finish the job. They left several items in the studio They were supposed to move out of. We noticed when they pulled up to the location where we were moving The truck was only about a third full and the movers even admitted they did not finish the job, but still charged us full price. We had to take care of the rest of the move which cost us time and money. read more

If you look over my yelp history, you'll notice that I've always used my yelp account to express my happiness with especially good service. This is literally the first negative review I've ever felt compelled to write, and I'm hoping that by taking the time to do so, I'll have saved someone a lot of expense and hurt feelings. It's true that there are unfortunate occasions that are outside anyone's control in life. Sometimes even the best moving companies, through no fault of their own, inadvertently damage their client's' property. The reason I advise readers to look elsewhere for movers is that I have experienced the way this particular company has chosen to manage such a situation. The sad truth is that instead of politely addressing the issues that arose, not only did the management fail to do their best to compensate for the losses incurred to property while in their care, they were actively rude, condescending, and in general communicated with the attitude of a surly junior high school child. (I say this with the authority of a parent of a junior high schooler, lol! Attitude up the wazoo!) I witnessed their attempts to discredit my character, their attempts to verbally dodge their responsibility as a company to their client, and their poorly executed attempts to redirect the readers of their reviews. The whole picture is of a company who cares more about securing future clients than they do about the satisfaction of their existing clients. Any company can celebrate their successes when their jobs go smoothly. The mark of a great, reliable company that can be trusted is how they treat customers who don't feel they received the goods or services they paid for. It is my sincere hope that college hunks hauling junk will take this opportunity to remediate the situation appropriately so that I can amend this review to a five star one. read more

These two guys worked as a team and got everything out as requested. My only issue is that a receipt was not available to me at the time of payment. My only recourse was to take a picture by phone and that would have to suffice. Bexmcuse I wmam handling a probate removal, I needed an acceptable receipt. Booked a move, paid the $150.00 deposit. Needed to cancel move of which I did during appropriate time frame. They still have not credited my credit card for $150.00 refund. They did send a receipt for refund but transaction still has not shown on my credit card. its been 2 months with no reconciliation. The team that moved my stuff from storage, where it sat since last June, and the other stuff from my temporary apartment into my new house was just what I hoped for. They were courteous and professional. This was despite the estimator underestimating the amount of time it would take. I take some of the blame for that--emptying out my apartment took much longer. Hindsight, the estimator would have gotten it right if he had come to my apartment instead of just letting me describe the contents. Also, that part of the move involved three flights of stairs--not an easy move. Overall, I would recommend these guys. Just make sure the estimator sees what you're paying them to move. read more

This move will forever alter how I view moving services and how customers are treated. Do not use this company! I had heard good things about College HUNKS from a local company and decided to use them for our move. We had the manager stop by to give us a full service estimate. After multiple hours at our home, he gave us what I believed was a fair estimate and requested to move forward. Yet, days later, another manager, his wife, dropped by our home claiming that the original estimate was deeply discounted and does not reflect the cost of the move. To say the least, we were shocked and decided to just use their services for a load only. We were very clear about the way we would like to have our newly purchased furniture treated and asked repeatedly about what we would need to provide to ensure damage would be avoided. We purchased mattress covers, sofa covers, extra blankets, and asked if they needed anything else because Home Depot and Lowe's were located less than two minutes away and we could purchase ANY extra packing supplies needed to ensure our property was protected. The movers stated that we have everything and, "nobody is this prepared when they show up". They were fairly quick initially, then problems started to pop up . We had to request they unwrap a fabric bed-frame with multiple moving blankets and that it should be utilized for the wood dresser. He responded, " I guess you're right. That makes sense," and proceeded to slowly undo his work and apply it to the proper furniture. We started to notice that they appeared a but inexperienced and got a very curt and rude reposes from the "captain" who obviously was not having a great day. A bit later, this proved accurate, as we had a huge ding in our wall corner which damaged to the metal stud. At no point did any employee ever mention to us that the load was being packed improperly or not to their standards. My wife and I were watching our three children, organizing the smaller items, and did not have time to micro-manage professional movers. We definitely should have. We had booked their time until 9pm. Around 7:45, a new employee came into our home and let the guys know they were done and the truck was packed. When I walked out, I was beyond upset. They had room to spare and I had a 1/2 garage full of items. They were stated that they were going to have come back the following day and unpack the entire load to try and repack to get everything to fit. We had unloaders scheduled for 3pm the following day with a 5.5 hour drive ahead of us. We just offered to take the other remaining items in another trip and forgo any other interactions with this unprofessional suggestion. FYI, this second trip cost us thousands more (even though BOTH managers on separate occasions said our property would EASILY fit within a 26' moving truck.) Upon arriving, with a very slow careful drive on a desolate highway, we opened the back of our truck to find a disaster. Our newly purchased couch had a weight set tipped on it and was damaged. (9' in the air!) Luckily, this did not fall on anybody. ANYTHING that College HUNKS had wrapped had small dings, scratches, or was broken. We immediately called the owner and manager and sent photos before the load was unloaded. They were very apologetic and said they would take care of anything damaged and compensate us for the loss. They said they were completely responsible as their captain had an horrible day because he was not promoted and the load was definitely not packed properly per dozens of photos sent to them. After weeks of emails and empty promises of fair compensation from the owner, Morgan Parker, were were offered 5% of the cost of our damaged property. This does not cover anything! I am flabbergasted as to how this "franchise" of college hunks is still in business. read more

These guys were great! They moved a heavy refrigerator, then helped us with a few other items. They have a minimum of three hours. Our refrigerator is a Kitchen Aid and huge! They know what their doing. Removed door handles to fit it through the front door and take it into our garage. Piece of cake for these guys. They were really nice guys too. I got a written quote for 2 hours of moving, and the job was completed in 2 hours. AFTER they were done, they claimed they had a 3 hour minimum. They agreed their estimate did not mention the minimum, and that they didn't tell me about the minimum, but refused to change the charge. read more

I hired this organization to take furniture to Furnish Hope which outfits homes for individuals and families coming out of homeless situations. I was assured that would happen. Instead they took the pieces to Habitat (which is ok) who took 2 pieces and then the balance to the dump. There were nice pieces that Furnish Hope would have wanted- hardwood furniture snd a barely used queen mattress. So, if you don't care whether they perform as requested , then this is the organization for you. No quarrel with the staff sent. Big issue with the company's failure to follow through on its commitment to get furniture to its intended destination. read more
