Not the most friendly staff. I'm not saying to not go here but I've had way better experiences at other places.

I had a very frustrating and disappointing experience at Pet Emergency and Referral Center…read more I came in specifically because my primary vet does not have a CT scan machine, and my 80 lb dog has a growth on his chest that needed imaging. When I checked in, I clearly explained that I was there for a CT scan. The younger staff member at the front desk was polite and checked me in without issue. After waiting, I was seen by Dr. Jessica Martin. She checked my dog's vitals and examined the mass, then confirmed that he would need a CT scan--which is exactly what my primary vet had already told me, and the reason I came in. However, she then informed me that their CT machine cannot accommodate a dog of my size and recommended I go elsewhere. This was extremely frustrating, as it could have been addressed before I was checked in, given that I clearly stated my reason for visiting. The situation became worse at checkout. I was told I needed to pay for the visit, which I questioned since I came in for a CT scan that could not be performed. The younger front desk staff member understood my concern, but another employee, Gretchen, intervened. During the discussion, Gretchen told me that I had not said I needed a CT scan when I checked in, and even stated that if I had said that, it would be a different situation regarding the bill. At that point, the staff member who originally checked me in overheard and confirmed that I did clearly say I needed a CT scan. Despite this, Gretchen immediately reversed course and stated that it didn't matter, that a consultation was done, and that payment was still required. This contradiction was frustrating and made the interaction feel dismissive and unfair. While a brief exam was performed, it ultimately resulted in the same conclusion I already had, without providing the service I came in for. Better communication upfront could have avoided this entire situation. I also want to specifically note the conduct of Gretchen at the front desk. Her tone was dismissive and argumentative, and her inconsistent statements during the interaction only added to the frustration. This reflects poorly on the professionalism and customer care at this facility. I would not recommend this location based on my experience.

Living in NC we were able to get her enrolled in the Yale Canine Cancer trial. We drove to Richmond VA several times for those special vaccine treatments and needed to find an Oncologist in FL who would work with us. This has been a scary tightrope of hope in this long road to goodbye to my best life partner. I sent the other DVM files ahead of time so PERC could be prepared but wasn't expecting they would've actually thoroughly reviewed and checked all that. It was volumes! From the moment I walked in the very talented and skilled Nicole greeted me in a private room with my dog. Today, our second visit to thoroughly update the ultrasounds and X-rays, I could t help but cry with relief that Nicole is thoroughly familiar with the volumes of documentation and my dog's particular case. This is such a hard struggle to do by myself, but I truly feel the team of Dr. Zaidi and Nicole mean my dog is in the caring hands of people who are as concerned about her as I am. We hope to be able to continue for the entire season with this wonderful Specialty Veterinarian Practice. They remember the details of complicated cases and they truly care with compassion for the humans as well. Most highly recommended ! I'm so glad we discovered this board certified Dr Bushra Zaidi and her excellent facility in here South Florida.

With a very poor life expectancy after diagnosis, we moved to Miami and needed to find a new veterinarian for her. We were blessed to find this practice and Dr. Michael. The loving Care he was provided did not just prolong her life, it helped prolong her happy and enjoyable life as long as possible. It also helped us prepare to know when going on was not an option. The incredible compassion shown through their care was over the top superb. My most recent visit was to bring my new baby and for spaying. As always, the medical skill and compassion was remarkable. I am comforted to know that my dog's health is being overseen by Dr. Michael. There is one problem with this practice that I do need to call out. I'm a busy person and don't always have time to wait. I understand when I come in for emergency care that there will be a wait, depending on the other other appointments and emergencies being taken care of, but when I bring my dog in for scheduled spaying to drop her off and then return at the time that they tell me to pick her up I do not expect to have over an hour wait in the waiting room. But I did in the morning and then again in the afternoon. Having run a medical practice of my own for decades, I know the importance of valuing other people's time and feel that they do not value mine as well as they could. This is my only complaint, but it is not a small one. I will of course tolerate the wait because of my trust in Dr. Michael but feel that this is something they should work on by having systems in place to prevent weight time when it is unnecessary. I highly recommend this practice for the quality of Care but be prepared for the long wait times.

They own over 2000 vet hospitals in the world and their doctors are paid more if they bill you more! Here's part of our story..... Our healthy 2.5-year-old dog Teddy was admitted to BluePearl Sarasota with seizures. Within an hour, while Teddy was alive in their hospital and we sat in the waiting room, BluePearl emailed us an iINVOICE FOR HIS CREMATION (I didn't see the email until 3 days later). The next afternoon, 2 veterinary specialists were called on the phone and both gave the same advice: start antibiotics and steroids if we could not afford the $6000 MRI. The recommended treatment was affordable. We could have done it that afternoon. But we were never told about the recommended treatment! For the next 18 hours, Teddy suffered terribly, frantic, adverse reaction to the drug he was on. His fever climbed to 105.9 degrees. He hadn't slept in over a day. He was disoriented, drooling, hyper-sensitive to every sound and touch -- and the treatment that would have helped him sat in his medical chart, undelivered to us and un-acted on by the vet covering his care, as well as the vet on the overnight shift. On Saturday morning, a different vet sat down, read the chart, saw what the specialists had recommended, and started the antibiotics and steroids. Within 90 minutes,Teddy fell asleep for the first time in 36 hours. Read the shocking information I found out and more about Teddy's Story at TeddysStory.com and share your story.
