Child watch is available and very affordable. Membership for our entire family is $114/month which seems really reasonable considering it includes classes and two pools. We are big fans!

Our grandmother came to visit us from our home country, and she has difficulty digesting food. My mother-in-law wanted to take her for a walk, but it was very cold outside after a snowstorm. I simply wanted to bring her here so she could walk a little on the second floor. They were extremely rude when I explained that she had only been here for three days and that as soon as we received an email or documents, we would open the membership in her name. I said that later we would do the membership properly. They rudely demanded $50 just for entry. I explained that it was dark and cold outside and asked them to please let her walk a little just for today, but they were arrogant and rude right to my face. I would have understood if this had been explained respectfully and politely, but instead they behaved very rudely. This is a place that has been taking money out of my pocket for a year for nothing. That is why I canceled. I hope you understand that they do not care about your physical or mental health -- they only care about money.

Not sure how well lit their parking lot would be at night and you may feel a little nervous until you get inside. The interior is a much larger space than I thought it looked from the exterior. I believe there are two break rooms so you could be breaking next door to another group at the same time. It's partitioned very well so you shouldn't see their debris flying into your space but you will likely hear their "rage" (laughter and breaking). The owner was super nice and a great conversationalist. She provided us a music genre of our choice in our room and an extra bonus box of beer bottles. She also provided us with gloves and a face shield for safety. My reservation was for a whole hour but smashing 3 boxes of items and chatting with the owner might have only taken us 25 mins. She offered us more smashables for very reasonable prices but as middle aged adults we assumed our throwing arms might be sore in the a.m. It was so fun and we laughed a lot together. Great short little date. I brought home a Santa tea cup as a souvenir from our box. Didn't have the heart to smash him and his reindeers. Overall, GREAT experience. I wish this business well. From preschool and summer camps to resources for seniors to the gym and pool the JCC is an inclusive place for everyone. I primarily use the JCC for the gym and the pool (both of which are great), but our family also utilizes the summer day camp for our kiddo (which he LOVES).

When mentioning to the AW staff about a scheduled class that was not happening as posted the response was - oh, that was canceled weeks ago. So why is it still on the site today??? There were 4 staff in the AW office who seem like you are bothering them when checking in. Pool closures are not updated timely for lesson times and the PT group takes over a large area of the small pool - but this is also not posted on the schedule????? The premium cost continues to increase as the service declines.

The monitor was super helpful, but there was no space to do anything and my stuff was moved multiple times by co-op members... I understand that there is a show next weekend, but maybe open studio time should be geared more toward accommodating the people that are paying to be there and less on the co-op members pushing you out of the way to get their stuff done on time... I hate to say this, 1. because I know I will go back there and I really do not mean to offend anyone... I am just giving my opinion and 2. because all of the classes I have taken there have been amazing. However, I keep having not great experiences at open studio. That being said, I have had some open studio's that were great... but not nearly as many as were bad.

Anyways, the visit was filled with visual wonders for the mind and soul. Each piece was truly unique and remarkable in so many ways. Most disciplines of art were represented with shining examples of each. The current exhibition features several highly skilled local Pittsburgh artists. The gallery features art, but also sometimes hosts music shows, which I was happy to be a part of in the past.
