The place is very clean and the service was great and friendly. We ordered breakfast that I have to say was a bit of a disappointment. Hubs had a croissant, I had the burrito without the peppers and onions because they were mixed. The kid had the large sausage roll and wasn't very happy because of the casing on the sausage. She got her free cookie and was very happy with the cherry cookie. She then ordered a lemon bar and brownie. They were good according to her. Hubs got a coffee that he said was a bit bitter. Music playing just puts you in a relaxed mood. Found little cups with lids full of tasty bites of their Cherry Fudge Pecan Cake. Who knew what a delicious treat these would be. Just like the name, rich fudge-like texture, perfect size pecan pieces, and bits of cherries throughout the sample. So very good. Grabbed a regular size 1lb 14oz- 7inch Original De Luxe Fruit Cake and small Pecan Fruit Cake to take home to add to our holiday dessert table. I did get some macaroons to snack on. Grilled cheese was toasted on top, but just bread on the bottom. Asked to add ham, but server didn't bother to let us know was sweet ham. Kinda disgusting aired with all of the cheese. Overall, a gummy mess which I picked some cheese out of and threw the rest away. Then, went to get some cookies for the road. You guessed it, wrong cookies and wrong number of cookies. They sell baked goods but also sandwiches like a deli. They did have vegetarian options which was nice! The prices were great too. We have been stopping here on our way home to Dallas about once a week. Most evenings I'll say we are treated fair. However this morning 4-30-26 we stopped for our usual stuff. The cleanliness, layout, and welcoming atmosphere is top notch. What a great stop right off I-20. There are plenty of delicious treats to pick up while you are there. I noticed about 10 people inside when I visited and what I saw where smiles and happy faces while they sipped and munched, and visited. I am a new Lindale resident, having moved from good coffee spots. This place makes me feel welcomed and right at home and I love their house coffee. My sister texted a pic of these cookies and I immediately wanted to try one. Well, being that I live miles away she mailed me some. They arrived intact, soft, and moist while their pink color looked so inviting. I wrapped my mouth around a couple and these sweet treats were wonderful. The little cherry pieces inside added much to the flavor and those cookies never stood a chance. I know these cookies are filled with preservatives, but ooh well so much for eating healthy. I've been here before for some cookies but not to eat at the cafe. First the lady who interacted with us most of the time that afternoon (Wed, September 11, 2024) was rude, on more than one occasion. They were out of a lot, which I overlooked as it was later in the afternoon. I ended up doing the bacon potato soup and a grilled cheese. The soup was basically water with potato pieces. It was super runny and flavorless. My friend got a brownie and said it was the worst one she's ever had. I got a discount bag of old pumpkin spice cookies and they were better than the brownie, which was very over priced and from the displayed goods, not the discounted ones. There was also a moth flying around in one of the dessert displays. Overall it was a pretty disappointing experience. We will probably go back but it will be a while before we do. read more

I really wanted to give them more than three stars, because the bathroom was really nice and clean, the dining area was clean, the counter staff was super friendly and patient.... Under glass they seem to have partial inventory... But being in the middle of nowhere I don't think they really want to have lots of leftover inventory. It won't be fresh or saleable later. No the reason why I'm knocking it down to three stars is because I purchased just one item, raisin bread with the frosting on top for about $5. Thought it was just a bit dry, made me wonder is this really fresh? Baked? No, I wonder whether it might not be as fresh as it could be? It didn't taste that way... Hats off to the workers and the manager! I left my AirPod buds on accident in the restaurant and called in efforts to find them. The manager and staff were so kind in locating them, they found one bud and sent it to me. About a week later they texted me that the other AirPod buds was located and offered to send it the same day I responded. I have nothing bad to say about the food or drinks here, the only reason I stopped here is because I was on a road trip and my mother had asked me to stop there and get her one of their famous fruit cakes. The only problem I have with this business is the staff, or one in particular. Anyway, I went to go pay for my items and the cashier who waited on me had a look on her face like she smelled something bad the whole time, and meanwhile I had asked her for a small drink and she also noticed me purchasing a prepackaged salad, after my receipt printed out she immediately said "have a nice day," without offering me a cup for my small drink that I ordered and without offering me plastic ware for my salad which she also saw me purchasing, I wound up having to ask for them myself; meanwhile neither of them were accessible from where the customers are allowed to be. The inside is set up with glass cases filled with beautiful deserts and cookies. The staff is very friendly and offered tasty sample to help make my choices. On the road with my Mom and she was excited on our way into Texas to see this sign but we had a lunch date to keep so I promised we would stop in on our way out of town. I'm the good daughter (well the only) so we did. This is a quick on/off the interstate stop with clean bathrooms and a cafe. Mom looked at ALL of the varieties of fruit cake and was happy with her selection. (In case you didn't know this is the folks to buy a fruitcake from in TX... ask your older relatives, they LOVE it). The soup was more of a gelatinous congealed goopy mess in a cup. There was such a lack of bacon that bacon should not be in the name of this soup. I took two bites and could not venture anymore. We also ordered half a ham and cheese sans pickle lettuce tomato. The bread was dry and had two measly slices of ham. For the cost, it was a shocking lack of meat and freshness. We also had a chocolate chip and oatmeal cookie that were also dry and crumbly. The cookies did not represent fresh baked but rather a day old crumbly came to mind. That might be a preference thing, as we prefer a crispy outside with a chewy center. So, with food prices escalating, it's a difficult lesson to spend hard earned money on less than "fresh" food at a Bakery. read more

On my last visit I got a decaf coffee and four cookies: cherry ice box, pecan crunch, pecan crunch and chocolate chip. On a road trip to visit a friend in my future home of the great state of Texas, I can't remember exactly where on I-20 I started seeing the signs for the bakery. But exhausted after about 12 hours or so on the road, I decided to stop fir a bathroom and gas break and to stretch my legs. I looked up and there was another sign letting me know the bakery is the next exit. Glad I stopped. I live for fresh baked goods. My guy friend LOVES chocolate chip cookies so I grabbed some with and without nuts and a few white chocolate ones too. I couldn't wait for him to try them and our vote is they are DIVINE! I always say I'm gonna stop when passing through but am typically in a rush so I never do. Well, this passed weekend I am happy to say I did. We were greeted before we even got in the store by a worker who came by and gave our dog, who was going potty, a few treats. There are grassy areas to let out your furry friend and bags available to clean up their mess. While dogs can't come inside the patio is dog friendly. In the parking lot there are designated spaced to charge up your electric vehicles if you have one. There are lots of sweet options, you name it they probably have it and then some. There are also some savory treats as well and a place to order lunch. We grabbed a chicken club for the road along with our assortment of cookies. Everything we tried was delicious! There are tables inside to eat at if you choose and there is a restroom available. Will be back soon. read more

Let me get my one con out of the way up front: the prices are a bit high. That's about it. Yeah, that's a big one, but I know it also must cost a bit to have this sized facility open all year 'round. Still, I think you truly get what you pay for. I've stopped in here a couple of times now, and each time I pick up a gift set of fruitcakes for the office. I've enjoyed them myself as well, but if I'm being honest... their best one is the pineapple one, I feel. That's just my opinion, though. Here's the cool part: if you just want to try one, you can order their petites, so you can sample them first. I think they might even offer samples, but don't quote me on that. Here's the funny part: when I told someone in Marshall I was planning to stop on my way back to Dallas, she said, "You HAVE to try their chicken salad sandwich!" Now, I'm not a chicken salad guy, per se, let alone in sandwich form. I like it enough, but I rarely make it and almost never purchase it. But, her unsolicited ad carried with it an aura of enthusiasm, such that I felt I would be missing out if I didn't give it a whirl. Oh. My. Goodness. This was a revelation. The salad itself was beyond delicious; creamy, tangy, salty, slightly sweet, and full flavored. The bread was a pecan loaf, I think? But, whatever it was, it complemented the filling perfectly, and the entire offering was a symphony! So good, so good, so amazingly good. I have to try that next time. Fruitcake isn't really tops on my list of go-to sweets, but theirs... not gonna lie... pretty darn worth it. I'll avoid the nuclear colored hyper fruit of the DeLuxe model, but even that one is tasty. It's a great little stop on the highway and a staple in many folks' homes come Christmas time.
