When owner Dr finally got involved I was "warned" about "aggressive language and behavior" when I show up to pick up my records. Dr. Pires was very kind and relatable, he was very calm and my fears and told me that he had a little one around the age of mine. His staff was very friendly and competent, and he saved me from a pricey, expensive surgery. He completely fixed my issue in 5-10 minutes with a simple laser procedure that was significantly less invasive and expensive. I would highly recommend Dr Pires if you ever need a periodontist. I made an appointment at Summit Dental in Canton. A young dental hygienist said that there were a few areas that required a deep cleaning with an anesthetic. Dr. Storm came in to discuss and told me that he wanted to do the cleaning first (an expensive procedure). I told him that I had been waiting for the crown on my implant for almost a year and asked him to put the crown in first. Please note that the implant was on the other side of my mouth and was prepped and recently checked by an oral surgeon, so a deep cleaning of the area was not necessary. The doctor agreed to place the crown first. Two weeks later, the office called, and a lady wanted to set up a date for the cleaning. I told her that Dr. Storm agreed to place the crown first. She seemed like she didn't believe me. I asked her to check with the doctor. Two weeks later, I called to schedule my crown. The lady I spoke to said that they would not place the crown until the cleaning was done. Needless to say, I started a search for a new dentist. A hygienist at the new office, obviously with a great deal more experience, conducted an evaluation and came up with much different results. No deep cleaning with sedation was necessary. I received a regular cleaning and later, a crown. After this episode, I have heard of similar situations involving a dentist (not Summit Dental) ordering a deep cleaning, which turned out to be unnecessary. The only advice I could give is that you should seek a second opinion if something doesn't sound right. In my case, it was a broken agreement between me and a dentist on which procedure would be performed first that drove me to a second opinion. The funny thing to me was that after all of this, the lady I spoke with at Summit Dental acted surprised when I called to have my records transferred to a new dentist!

Ok, here is my experience with the doc. I had two teeth…read morebothering me, on/off pain. Called the office and got an appointment fairly quickly. X rays were taken, a good cleaning, then the exam by the doc. The doc tells me I need two fillings replaced, simple procedure, will solve my problem. I make an appointment to have this done. I will have to wait a month but I figure I can tough it out. So the day comes, I arranged to take the day off work and was so glad to have this fixed. Then the doc pulls the ole bait and switch on me. Now he tells me he can't replace the fillings. I ask can he pull the tooth ? The ole doc tells me no, then tries referring me to one of us buddies to have the tooth pulled. Then he got mad because I would not accept a referral to have his buddy pull the tooth. and embarrassed me in front of other patients in the waiting room. To those of you who have had a good experience with the doc I say God bless. My experience was terrible and will let everyone who will listen know what was done to me. Totally unethical.

I went to the Next Door app about a month ago because I desperately needed a good local dentist. So…read moremany of the responses recommended Norton Family Dentistry. I went in and was initially impressed with the front desk people. They are so pleasant and not staring down their nose if I worried about paying for the service. First, it was so much less expensive than dentists I called to have a single tooth pulled. I was never left alone and the person (I am horrible remembering names but I will never forget how awesome she was) that stayed with me and took X-rays made a calm happen right away. I say that because I do not, or I should say, did not like dentists or doctors in general. But....when the dentist came in, he treated me like I've been there a thousand times and calmly suggested a treatment plan. I feel like a turn coat when I have to admit, there is a dentist that I trust....like immediately. The treatment plan could have included expensive root canals, but the Dentist explained the best course of treatment, far less painful in my mouth and wallet. So thank you everyone on the Next Door app and i hope this review helps someone find a good local dentist if you are anywhere near Norton, Ohio. I found my new Dentist.
