-0 knowledge about mechanical issue, they charged me $50 for installation my break pad which I brought with me he took out the emergency brake piece and he through it in the trunk because he did not know what to do with it. My husband and I were traveling through the area headed from NY to NC when we had a mechanical issue that left us stranded. We called and a very nice gentleman told us there was no one in the shop today given that is was Sunday afternoon but that he would see if he could reach someone to assist us. He advised he would call us right back. He did and within 20 minutes we had two very nice guys there helping to get us back on the road. We were stranded and they directed us to their shop. We got there and they worked hard to make sure they found a belt. It wasn't the right size so they called other places abd then found in that they made work. They stayed over after closing and didn't charge us an unreasonable amount. We would have been stuck if they hadn't done a few extra steps to fix our truck. Highly recommend these nice men. And all the cats are cute! read more

Collins Service Center came to the rescue this week when we wrecked our toy hauler and truck while traveling southbound on I 81. Inside the trailer was 2 motorcycles. Jill and her crew, Curtis, Dean and Dale, worked with us and 4 insurance claims to remove our property from the road, remove the motorcycles from the trailer, improve access to our property inside the trailer so we could claim most of our things and just provide overall customer service. We observed them stopping all work to attend to customers off the highway in need of new truck tires, holes plugged and all types of mechanical needs for cars, trucks and trailers. Coincidentally, they assisted another family member 2 years ago who also reported excellent customer service. I would highly recommend them in times of need. read more

Our car broke down on the Sunday of Memorial Day not far from Collins Service Center. After waiting for a tow from our manufacture for three hours we called Collins. Within 30 minutes Curtis arrived in a tow truck. He quickly assessed the situation and told us due to the time and repair needed he would not be able to do anything until the next morning. He drove us to the local Comfort Inn as there was not any other way for us to get there. He literally worked all day on Memorial Day fixing our car. At 4:30 PM he returned to the hotel and drove us back to the shop. He showed us what had happened and explained the repair. He asked us to follow up and let him know that we made it home safely. The car has been running perfectly since Curtis repaired it. We cannot thank Curtis enough for his kindness and professionalism. Thank you so much! read more

I lost a tire and wheel on the interstate very close to their shop. Once the driver arrived I asked how much to get towed to their shop. I informed him that I might try to do the work myself if it was possible. I was told by driver it would cost $110 to go the four miles to their shop. Once I got there and had a good look. I decided I could do the work my self. The lady seemed miffed about this and the new price was $150 cash or 155 credit. What was I to do at that point? They had me. Bad business ethics and steep prices! Stay away, there are better tow companies out there. read more

I blew the motor in my 1992 7.3 while driving to Maine for work. Dean from Collins replaced the motor with a remanned Motorcraft long block. The whole experience was a nightmare. I was lied to a few times about when the truck would be done and when I finally got the truck back, about 2 weeks later and $8000.00 broker, the job was botched... Exhaust leak at the manifold, the fuel return line was pulled tight against the manifold and melted through about 100 miles later, Power steering fluid leaked because hose clamps weren't tightened, glow plug relay wasn't grounded so the truck wouldn't start in the morning, today I realized why I've had to put 2 fuel pumps in it since I got the new motor and why it was lacking power/fuel. The metal fuel line that runs from the tank to the fuel pump is smashed between the motor mounts! Yes folks, that's right... the f'in fuel line is smashed between the motor mounts. I'm working on a lawsuit to get my labor cost back and I suggest you avoid this place as long as Dean still works there. read more
