When then did not get approved for total cost and scope of work the insurance company did not deal with them. They put the nice words on page 1 of their contract "contract is null and void if your insurance does not approve the total cost or scope of work" but page 2 is when they try to financially exploit and ask for $5K without doing the job. As consumers you want a quality roof with certain materials and the owner blew us off and said "you will now pay me $5,000". The contract was null and void once the insurance company didn't want to pay their overprice on the roof. Read your fine print with this company they put ambiguous wording so they can get paid for doing nothing. It's a shame companies work like this. Consumer you are the one that pays your insurance money they just want to overbill the insurance and then collect fees from you on top of it. Now I can say these Florida insurance companies are horrible at best as they do not stand behind their customers. But don't let this company try and take money for work they didn't do! Read page 2 which is in such small print you need a magnifying glass to read, but they conned at 84 year old they will do the same to you!

He moved me up in the schedule because I found out late from my insurance company that I would need a new roof to get quotes. He met the deadline and even called to tell me the predicted rain might delay him a bit (it's a rental and I don't live in Florida). He did a great job and sent tons of photos. He arranged for the insurance reports I would need and coordinated that effort as well. He deserves an A+. Great guy to work with! And you can reach him by text easily. He is super customer-oriented. We called in 3 roofing companies for free evaluation and quotes -- two were recommended by neighbors and friends, one came after we researched reviews and company websites. We liked Heart's marketing message and their customer testimonials. Their quote was competitive with the other 2 companies, and they found issues and suggested solutions upon inspecting our old roof (including a 19' flat area where two rooflines meet and there was evidence of water collecting). Thomas, a company co-owner, suggested that they create a gently sloping v-shaped structure to direct water away and down the roof -- totally invisible from the street. Genius. And when on our roof for the estimate, Thomas videoed and narrated his evaluation of the roof's condition and issues, then shared it with us to review. We ultimately chose Heart for the job and decided on asphalt architectural shingles with a 130 mph wind speed rating. Their crew was excellent -- great skill level and attitudes. Here's how it went: Day 1: Dumpster on rubber tires cheerfully delivered to our driveway. Day 2: Tarp off the vegetation, perform the tear-off, replace some rotten plywood (included in the initial quote), remove and dispose of our old rain gutters, and install the drip edge flashing, ridge vents, and new underlayment. (Complete site clean-up was performed at the end of the day.) Day 3: City inspection. Pass. Day 4: Half day of installing our new shingles -- then a thorough clean-up including wiping down our new white drip edge flashing. Day 5: Final city inspection. Pass! We'd highly recommend to others all aspects of this project. Heart Roofing excelled!
