Did some online hunting and landed on Automotive Collision Specialists, Inc. Let's call them ACS. Made an appointment and got an estimate. Very easy. First thing I noticed on the estimate was that ACS was gonna use OEM parts. Other shops I went to wanted to install Made in China parts. I appreciated the fact that ACS would use the best parts available for my car. Also got some modest encouragement about paint quality which was important to me. So I brought the car in on a Monday. They said it would likely be done by Friday. So far all sounded good, but a hiccup entered the process. They had ordered a new bumper cover (the visible external plastic bumper) plus a plastic valence which snaps into the bottom of the bumper cover. This valence part arrived but was damaged in shipping. It was packed in a plastic bag with zero protection against impact injuries. They proceeded to return that part and ordered a second. No good. A third was ordered. No good. A fourth came in, and they thought it might be OK but called me to come take a look. I did and though close to 100%, it still was damaged. Another reorder was done at my request (with no arguments, BTW), and it took the dealer two days, but they got a good part out to the ACS shop. Got a heads-up on this. So the car was quickly completed, and I came over to pick it up. It was literally perfect. Paint, fit of bumper, exhaust pipe alignments, etc. Everything like new. Car was spotless inside and out. Very impressive. I had met some of the guys at ACS. So . . . Ethan, Gary and Alan, thank you for a great job. As I was returning to my car, I could see it from a distance, someone had "keyed " scratch, the entire length of the driver's side of my vehicle. It was severe. Rule of thump: put water on a scratch on your auto finish, if the scratch disappears it can be buffed out. When I got home I ran the hose,wet the car, the scratch remained completely visible. As I'm new to Raleigh, and new to NC I didn't know who to call. I opened the Yelp app and contacted several repair shops based on reviews. They all responded promptly and gave a quote except one. The first one to respond didn't give me a quote, he set a time for the next day when he could come see it in person. The day Travis arrived a few minutes early and I was ready. He inspected the scratch and gave me a quote, best by several hundred $$ I was skeptical, I told Travis I was awaiting to hear from a couple more shops but I would let him know either way within a couple hours. I had a good feeling about Travis so even though his very much lower price gave me a "too good to be true" vibe, I needed my car fixed so I texted Travis. We set a time for two days later as I had to work around my schedule. Travis' two helpers arrived early, before Travis. They explained they would prep the car and could start immediately. I left them to get started as I had a project had had to attend. When I looked outside maybe 20 mins later Travis was there his truck unloaded, equipment set up. All three seemed very busy. What they had to do to get that scratch out was unreal. The scratch wasn't just to the metal, the metal was scratched as well. It was a lot of work many steps in the process and it took some time. As they neared completion of the project, one of the guys found me in my backyard and filled me in. I started towards my car, already close enough where the scratch was previously visible, I saw shiny pint. I continued to close the distance, scrutinizing with increased intensity. I was at the car, scanning the previously damaged area with my eyes. I saw no sign of any damage, no residual of the scratch whatsoever. My nightmare was over, Travis and his guys made my car look like brand new. I can once again drive my car with pride. I received a message at 1:57pm, inquiring if I left my key. I responded yes, then I attempted several phone calls. I received no response. I Uber back to shop at 4pm, only to see my vehicle parked where I left it. I was told the reason my car was not worked is because the key was lost. I explained to person, I thought was a technician to learn now this the owner, the lost key is my only key. After waiting at least 30 minutes, the owner told me my key was located. This was a horrible experience!

The guys at Davenport spent their own time working with the camera company's phone support. At each step they came out to me and explained the updated situation. When there was a "we could install it *this* way or *that* way" they came put, explained the pros of each choice, then let me decide. In all it took three trips to get the whole camera system installed - NOT because of anything Davenport did wrong. And to their credit they were great and friendly each time. I would totally recommend them.
