Our guide had a strong voice. Other than that, this was the worst, most non-historical tour we've ever taken. My son fell in love with history during his first ghost tour.. the stories were based in history and not completely fabricated. With the History of Williamsburg, why not talk about ACTUAL history ... wow us with interesting facts rather than blatant lies (such as, "this is my old home.".... Talk about the horrifying facts of the Revolution.... When we research, we can enrapture an audience with true fact.. we can tell basic ghost stories in our own back yards. The Colonial Women who took our ticket were in costume, but not in character. Fairly rude. I had to remind them of "please and thank you".. There were many other groups having tours.. when we come back, we will try to find another company who does these, cause over $60 for what we experienced was sinful. Other groups sounded like they had a MUCH better experience... I'm thinking they were from a less "official" company. They got 2 stars only cause I could hear the guide... otherwise it would be a solid 1 star. So, so angry when I pay for an experience and the money is a complete waste ... my kids learned (and got excited about) nothing. Completely opposite of every other ghost tour we have attended. We haf William as our tour guide and he was absolutely AMAZING. He knew his history facts and made the stories come to life. He was really funny and made the whole experience so enjoyable for all ages. The tour was so informational and it truly is a must if you come to colonial Williamsburg. I would even do it again if I had more time. When we were standing at the most haunted house it was truly hard to even get a picture. All of a sudden a huge white cloud floated in front of us and then disappeared. It was such a neat experience. read more

Patrick was our guide on the extreme ghost tour, 10pm. I really enjoyed his stories. I loved hearing the history as well. Overall, what a beautiful night and I caught a few eerie pictures. Green orbs, one that looks geometric over the church. A ghostly looking tree at the peyton house and a green dot. Note I tried to upload Peyton house it keeps giving me an error message. Just finished the 8pm tour. The price was reasonable for the tour and for and extra 6 bucks they'll rent you an emf detector (fun bonus). The tour guide, Jaquline, was great. Very personable, good energy and had fun stories. The tour takes you on an hour or so walk or Old Williamsburg. Wish we had some access to inside of the buildings though. Overall fun and worth one night of the trip. read more

Great tour of colonial Williamsburg and learning about the mysterious past. It was a good experience for the whole family

This was the worse tour we have ever been on. From our tour guide named Anna or Hannah talking to other tour guides and groups to her missing so many items that others go into detail about . She missed the monument with the skulls and the hangings tree . She had zero passion for what she is doing and had no control of the group from talking about other things to walking so fast I looked back and 3 different couples were a half a block away and she never noticed. We had a couple walk up from across the yard that was looking for another group and she said just walk with us.WTF I wonder if the boss would want that? Other groups have lantern and period cloths and she didn't even know how to use her flashlight. We won't be using this tour again. You can decide for yourself. The guide ruined it for us. But we will still do tours...from other companies. read more

What a waste of money! The tour guide was reading from a script! When I say reading from a script.. I literally mean reading from a script. He had a white book that he was reading from! Completely ruins the experience. He didn't know any of the stories, he had to read them. He couldn't answer any questions. He didn't know any of the history of colonial williamsburg. He kept stating over and over again that he didn't even believe in ghosts, which also ruins the entire experience. I did look up a couple of the stories that he told and none of them were true. They were all old wives tales. He said that the little boy fell out of the tree in 2015, this happened in 1824! He would constantly make up dates like this. We paid extra for the extended tour, don't do it! Such a waste of money! The "underground tunnel" section that they are supposed to take you to is literally in the middle of a side walk and is covered with a gate. They don't take you into an underground tunnel at all. We also rented a EMF detector. It didn't work. Nothing on it said EMF detector either. It was just a box with a light that never changed. Waste of money! I am actually going to try to get a refund because this was ridiculous! read more

The sites were interesting and hearing the historical background was cool -- but for $100+ for 5 people to see like 3-4 sites was underwhelming. When we were walking from site to site, our tour guide wasn't engaging with the group at all. I felt like I could have just googled "Colonial Williamsburg Ghost Sites" and have done it myself for free. read more

Horrible. 63 people in the group, which is ridiculous! I've done a lot of ghost tours (Savannah, Charleston, New Orleans, etc.) and this was by far the absolute worst......we didn't even finish the tour because it was so bad. Almost nothing about ghosts, mostly a mish mash of history and half stories about the area, which might have been interesting if our guide was any good but honestly, she just wasn't a good story teller. Decided to do this tour after looking at several that were available for Williamsburg. No park ticket needed and we had a lot of fun. Did the extended tour that included the William and Mary college campus which turned out to be a much smaller crowd. The entire ghost tour was worth the money. It is as fun as your group makes it and in our case we had a blast. The tour guide was extremely friendly and the stories were pretty good. The best part was actually walking around the colonial area with very few people around, in the dark, and torches lighting parts of the street. Even colonial people were playing instruments here and there. All around a great atmosphere. The entire tour with the extended William and Mary college add on seemed to be about an hour and a half and was a slow pace which we liked. Was a good experience and would recommend it to anyone. read more

We took the 1.5 hour 10pm ultimate ghost tour on February 11,2022 and Patrick was our tour guide. He was great! Super friendly and knowledgeable. He shared some personal ghostly experiences as well as informed us about the history of the buildings we saw. Comfy walking shoes are a must! We had a 3 month old with us in her stroller and we're able to get around fairly easily, although it could be a bumpy ride at some points. I would not have brought my daughter if she were old enough to understand the stories as some of them are pretty scary. My only regret was I wish we rented one of the electromagnetic devices for the tour. It wasn't an option to rent online when I booked it (but I saw it as an option at the 8pm tour). However, Patrick did mention it and I'm sure we if we asked we could have rented one. I would do the tour again and add the extension. The only negative of this tour was I wish there was an active phone number I could have called to ask questions prior. I called the ones I found online and sent an email to the address provided the day of booking but never got a response. Hoping this review helps anyone with questions about bringing children. read more

Had a great time on the tour, all of the guides are nice and you can tell they really know there history and love the job. Wish we could have gone inside some of the haunted locations at night but seeing them and hearing the stories were still good. I recommend getting the EMF detectors for the tour, it was neat seeing it light up in certain areas, definitely made the experience a lot more spooky. This is also great for families with children and anyone that is handicapped, the entire tour is accessible and appropriate for all ages which is great for inclusion. If you're ever in the Williamsburg, VA area then I recommend going on the tour, even if you don't believe in the paranormal. read more

One of the best ghost tours I've ever been in. I went in the 10:00 tour and the extended version and we didn't finish until close to 1am. We wandered downtown Williamsburg hearing story after story from our excellent and enthusiastic guide, Lacey. She was extremely knowledgeable and did not bullshit us. If she didn't know the answer then she said so. I didn't have a paranormal experience but by the end of the tour I left feeling unsettled. It's rare that a tour scares me. "Amateurish" is the word that comes to mind. My wife and I purchased tickets for and attended the 9:00 pm tour given on Saturday, July 18, 2020. The guide's stories were pointless and vague. She had a habit of trailing off at the endings, making it difficult to hear what she was saying. She forgot half of what she was supposed to be talking about, saying "oops, brain fart" on three separate occasions during the tour. She gave no dates and even said "I'm terrible with dates" to my wife after she asked a question. Well, if you're terrible with dates, facts, details, remembering things, and story telling, what are you doing giving historical ghost tours? She mixed up the revolutionary and civil war twice. The stories didn't make sense. She gave no details, no dates, and seemed to know nothing outside her loose grasp of the tour material. In addition to the amateurish, bumbling, muttering, forgetful guide, the group was more than 30 people strong, which is too big, in my opinion, for a ghost tour. If every person is paying $20 a pop, colonial ghost tours should be able to afford training their tour guides--or maybe hiring people who are actually interested in history and ghosts. Just my two cents. I've been on many ghost tours in Savannah, Charleston, Louisville, Atlanta, etc. This was by far the worst example I've ever endured. It's a shame, when Williamsburg is such a richly historical city with so much fodder for ghostly tales. Save your money. read more

Awesome tours. We did the cemetery and extended night tour. Great guides and very informative with a nice creepy factor to it. Cemetery tour was a bit pricey but still interesting.
