I absolutely love this store. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I get to do liquor tastings here a lot and on top of the staff being wonderful the clientele is usually very nice and friendly, which I could not appreciate more. I'd like to give a shout out to Tayler for being a queen and holding it down on a Saturday night They have great deals during tastings, and their pricing in general usually is better than most other stores in the Buffalo area. I like coming here. The customer service is great. The staff is friendly and helpful. On one of my last trips there, they didn't have a wine that I was looking for. They do have many other kinds of wine and spirits that are great. (It's easy to get lost in the aisles, as you look for that next great bottle of wine.) If you need boxes because you're moving, they have some free ones near the registers. They're clearly marked. I took four, when I recently moved. When you enter the lobby, there is a huge statue of Captain Morgan and a huge statue of Jack Daniels. They brighten my day, when I see them. I'll be sure to return here often because it's a convenient location for me. Whether I'm looking for something sweet or dry, I know they'll have something that catches my eye. read more

I haven't been here in a while, and happened to drive by it, so I figured I would stop in. Nice large space to walk around and look at all their products. Workers happy to help. They had plenty of the liquor I was looking for, which I have not been able to find anywhere else recently. And it was on sale for a great price. Prices are great here. You would think they would be higher because of the location and size of building, but that isn't the case. They even walked my purchases out to my car for me! Nice pleasant surprise! There is a large tops next door, so if you go there for groceries , look on the back of your receipts for coupons!! Every dollar counts! read more

I visited this store last week for the first time in several months, and I probably won't return for several more months. They do not carry any South African white wines. Moreover, their lowest-priced, and perhaps only (there were either one or two), Picpoul de Pinet is marked at around $15 -- a far cry from the $10-12 I'm used to paying at other stores (as a non-sale price). The customer service is satisfactory, and most customers are likely able to find wines they like. But the situation is less promising for people with more specific tastes. I'm admittedly no wine connoisseur, but I know what I like, and sometimes, I crave wines that are not available at this store, or not available affordably at this store. While I understand why stores over-carry when it comes to California wines and New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, it couldn't hurt to expand (or, at least, diversify) the inventory of whites. I can easily find wine I like here, but it would be a major bonus if I could also pick up a bottle of something I REALLY like, which simply isn't the case right now. read more

Once again, I cannot believe that I have never reviewed this place. I am here lots - that is not to say that I drink a great deal. Colonial started out as a relatively small shop on North Buffalo Road in OP. For as small as it was, customer service, variety and willingness to order new items reigned supreme. Great as they were they eventually joined up with Global and moved to Five Corners. The store and stock expanded while the prices remained less than or comparable to other liquor stores in the area. To make things even better they run ads in our local read for 10% off non sale alcohol - there is a higher discount for wine - AND they offer the same discount on the grocery store receipt which is right next door. If you missed your coupon in the local paper, you can find the same on one of the many receipts floating through the parking lot! YES!!! If anyone is a vodka drinker please note. They sell Recipe 21 (Rochester distillery) for $12.99 per 1.75 liter. This is their everyday price. The 10% coupon works and you can buy as many as you like. Not that I do that sort of thing. They also stock that cool vodka from Buffalo - Lockhouse I believe? In retrospect, why the heck did I post this? I love this place. read more

The customer service here is wonderful and is consistent. I am writing this review because I just left a different liquor store to buy for holiday parties and gifts and the experience was not good. This bad experience made me remember the great and consistent customer service at Colonial. Keep up the good work. I will be a more loyal customer going forward! Thanks! read more
