Stopped in to see what new wines I could stumble upon. Needed a few for on hand gifts since this pandemic has had me going into the stash. I discovered this Castella Del Poggio Moscato and decided to give it a try. It was on sale for more than 50% off and also had a rebate ( I hate mail in rebates ) anyway, I figured why not So I purchased this and some of my regular bottles of wine and Prosecco and headed on out. I must say the store was practicing social distancing, sanitizing shopping carts, enforcing face masks before entry and beyond and had floor markers. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They were very well stocked on selections and the store was very clean and organized. They also offer curbside service where you pay online after your order and then pull up and wait to have your items loaded into the trunk. Unfortunately, because I had no clue what I wanted ... I would give them 0 stars if I could. I've shopped here for years. They could pull my rewards # and see the amount of money I've spent here. They obviously don't care. I got the bottle in October. We just opened it. It didn't taste great. I said, maybe it needs to breathe. Left it for a half hour, decanted. Tried again, it still tasted bad. I smelled the cork; the cork smelled bad. Restaurants offer you the cork to smell, for this reason. Once in a restaurant I had a bad bottle. The waiter smelled our cork and agreed the bottle was bad. I took my bottle back to Premier. It had the sticker on the bottle that said Premier on it. I took it to the kiosk with two workers manning it. Happened to be "the manager", so she said. I explained that I opened the bottle and it tasted bad. We then looked for the purchase on the loyalty card. It was purchased in October and I opened it in February. Not unheard of for red wine. She tells me the return policy is 14 days. I said, the bottle is bad. She said sorry, that's the return policy. I thought about it for a second and decided that I wasn't satisfied with that response. I said, I spend a lot of money here and I can't believe this is what you consider good customer service. She got angry and said, fine I'll do this once, but I won't do it again. She went and found another person in the back to find the same bottle. They didn't have it and he stated the return policy again. I told them I buy a lot of wine and i don't open most of my bottles within 14 days, it was bad...how would I know this ahead of time? He says the bottle was from 2011. I said, you sold that bottle of wine in October! I said this was terrible customer service. He said ok, I'll give you ten dollars for the bottle. We're at the register and i was still being treated like i asked for something out of the ordinary. I asked why I was being treated like that when I purchased a bad bottle of wine; they insisted that "those things happen" and i should take the loss. I took my 10.88 and left. This is not a review of Premier per se. This is a review on how RIDICULOUS, cumbersome and convoluted all of these rebates are for wine, booze etc. Skrewball at least was online and fairly tech savvy. But I just threw away TWO rebates for Relax and Barefoot bubbly because of a) how small the little rebate forms are b) the amount of information needed including writing out UPC codes, c) the fact you have to MAIL this in and waste paper and a stamp to get a check back in the mail and d) how this is all on purpose so people like me give up. How is some elderly person going to even read these microscopic instructions?? I purposely avoid buying anything with mail in rebates but I got sucked in bcz I was at Premier. NO MORE!!!!!! I will go elsewhere because I am sick of the games with these rebates. There is NO excuse for these rebates to not be easy to execute and receive the funds electronically. NO EXCUSE. This is the third Premier in the area. They carry some wines here that they don't carry at the other stores. It's nice to come here for that reason. But sadly I'm not in OP often so am not here often. We are spoiled in the Buffalo area by all the terrific wine and liquor store options we have. Go to other states or even areas in NYS and you will search high and low for the options we have here. The staff service levels could be improved here and they could be more friendly. Try your local corner store first, may have better pricing, and will have better customer service. It's huge like the others. Easy parking. read more

This place is fine if you're looking for a standard off-the-shelf bottle of wine. Otherwise, forget it. Over the past three years, I've discovered some wonderful wines here but invariably, they run out of stock and the wines are no longer available. The last time I asked about re-stocking, I got some flimsy excuse that they have to buy an entire pallet. If the wine has sold that quickly, then why not stock up? Floor personnel aren't very helpful and act as if they have better things to do. At least the cashiers are pleasant. Prices here used to be competitive but there have been increases of around $3.00 per bottle lately. The good sales have disappeared, too. read more

Walked in looking to get 3 bottles of red - quickly. Encountered a gentleman who had a wine tasting display set up: he offered me to try an Argentinian Malbec priced at ~$10 which was decent and I tucked a bottle under my arm ready to go look for more wine. Then, he asked if I wanted to try a 'Torchbearer,' a Napa Valley Cabernet @ ~$20. I did and was blown away. Promptly put the Malbec back and grabbed it and asked him to show me comparable wines at a lower price point. He did and I left with 3 great bottles of California reds as well as a recommendation to download the Vivino app, so I could chronicle and research more wine in the future. I love this place and wish it was closer to North Buffalo but alas. read more

I love Mexico...more specifically Oaxaca. When you go to Oaxaca, you try Mezcal. Like most, my first experience with mezcal was at one of the small store fronts you see along the way to Santiago Matatlan, the epicenter of mezcal. Ive never been a big fan of tequila, but I liked the smokiness of that first mezcal. Which led me to trying more and seeking out better mezcals while in Oaxaca. I was introduced to Wahaka Mezcal in 2010, and it has become the benchmark for me, to rate all other mezcals. When I can, I bring some Wahaka home with me, but it's still hard to find mezcal, let alone Wahaka Mezcal in the US. That's why I'm thankful to Ed and Premier for being my source for Wahaka Mezcal in the US. Ed is knowledgeable about mezcal, and I love corresponding with him after he goes on his yearly pilgrimage to Oaxaca to meet and try mezcal at the source and find more great mezcals for Premier. It's great that Ed the the folks at Premier know wine too. Ed turned me on to a great wine from fingerlakes region of NY! Never heard of the fingerlakes...never would have if not for their knowledge. There's lots of great wine in CA and Ensenada Mexico, but a great wine is just that...no matter where it comes from. Plus, I like something different and unique...that's why I enjoy mezcal. These guys are great...which is funny, seems like some folks don't like this joint. But I wonder if people are talking to the janitor wanting recommendations or something like that, cause they are impatient. I say, do your homework online, especially for me, since I can't just jump in the car and drive to NY...let them do what they do best and I can sit back and enjoy my mezcal. So, as often is the case, I would give Premier 4.5 stars (but can't) cause they are NOT driving distance close, but since they do have Wahaka....I'll round up! I don't always order wine and mezcal online...but when I do, I trust Ed Draves and the gang from Premier! Now, I think it's time for some Wahaka Joven Ensamble! Salud! read more

Huge selection - Yes. Great pricing - Yes. Crappy service - Yes Yes. I know it's the holiday season and liquor stores are overwhelmed with traffic, but staff need to be trained to deal with it and treat customers (of any age) with respect. First, the wine "connoisseurs" were huddled inside their little wine desk island. Whatever happened to the old-fashioned approaching a customer in an aisle? PREMIER, these people are always behind the desk....tell them to move!!! I frequent this place because it's near my work and it's the same scenario all the time. They're snobby and never seem to care about me because I'm young and don't know anything about wine. Also, I tell them my price range and they always pick out something more expensive. I went over to the mini-bottle shelving area and asked an associate (manager?) about the taste of a particular whiskey. He replied "I don't know" with a bad attitude, and then continued to throw bottles onto the shelf. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because of size of store and pricing. Don't forget to remind your cashier about a particular rebate because they often forget to give you the rebate tag. I've gotten better service at McDonald's. read more

The selection is amazing and the prices can't be beat. It's also a great place for the whole family. Last year I even took my in-laws here to kick off their Thanksgiving weekend visit. And yet! The staff are about as unfriendly as it gets. No one over 21 should feel this socially uncomfortable when buying booze. read more

Our dealing with Prestige Wine in Orchard Park NY was the absolute WORST experience in over 50 years of buying wine. We found Prestige Wine in Orchard Park NY by shopping around in www.winesearcher.com while looking for good pricing on champagne. We were in the process of buying a lot of different champagnes and Prestige had the best pricing. Now please keep in mind that we are located over 500 miles from Prestige Wine but because of the strong pricing, it made sense to have a common carrier drive from our place to Orchard Park to pick up the wine. We wanted "X" amount of cases of brand "X" Champagne and they said they had it, no problem. So the driver left our area Tuesday, spent Tuesday night in a hotel and then arrived at Prestige Wine early the following morning. When the driver arrived, Chris at Prestige Wine in Orchard Park NY said that there was a problem with the customers credit card and that he should go on his way. The driver called us and we verified that the card was working just fine. Chris at Prestige Wine who I think works in shipping and receiving started to become more confrontational, rude and in general acted like a complete jerk. Of course he was coached by his boss because we could hear him in the background telling Chris what to say. Chris is a paid puppet. It turns out that the People at Prestige Wine in Orchard Park NY lied to us on Monday and Tuesday saying they could fill the order no problem. They probably thought they could get the wine in time for our truck to pick it up but they didn't. Prestige Wine in Orchard Park NY failed to come through with product that they said they had on their shelves; they are liars. To compound problems, once our driver got there, instead of being honorable and telling us / the driver the truth, that they simply didn't have the product at the time, thought they could get it but failed. Nope, instead they lied AGAIN and said it was a problem with our credit card. Liars. Finally they 'fessed up and said they didn't have the product and the driver should go away. While talking to us, Chris being coached by his boss, perhaps the owner, Jon Notarius finally "told us off" in a profanity laced kiss goodbye and hung up the phone. So in short, Prestige Wine in Orchard Park lied to us when they said they had the product, lied to the driver and us saying that there was a problem with our credit card in order to try to cover up their lies some more and then finally became rude, and confrontational before hanging up the phone. Luckily for us, we had two other stops lined up for our driver so the trip wasn't entirely fruitless. I will say that this was the absolute WORST experience we have ever had in wine buying and these guys are just terrible. If you can't handle the heat in the kitchen or what the ramifications are of telling lies then you should do one of two things, either get out of the business or man up and do business which is above the board, honestly and with integrity. I run in some circles with very serious wine buyers from coast to coast and I will continue to tell my story about this terrible, terrible experience. Shame on Prestige Wine, shame on Chris and shame on his boss who was coaching him on what to say. Prestige Wine has shops in Kenmore NY, Williamsville NY and Orchard Park NY. If I could leave a negative five star rating I would. If you look at my other reviews, they are mostly all five and four star ratings so I very rarely leave bad reviews such as this. Just this evening I stopped by for the double up for a buck wine deal. While I was there I noticed a sale sign for Skyy Vodka. 1.75 liter bottle $19.99 so proceeded to register to cash out. The cashier stated it's ringing up $23.99. I stated there is a sign on the shelf if you want to take a look. He did in fact see it and asked the manager who stated "it's an old sign". So I asked if he would honor the sign and he stated no. So I decided to leave it and now I doubt I will return to this particular store or any of their franchises due to principal. It's not so much the few bucks. Colonial and key liquors now have my business. Thank you. read more

Whil the store itself is great, Chris (manager) needs some training. I USED to go to Primier once every month or two as I live a distance away. Last of the month, I purchased Sterling vintner's collection Chardonnay,2012. One other time I had to pour a bottle down the sink, so second time round I called thinking the whole case (shipment) might be bad. It was toward the end of the month. Chris told me I could bring back the wine with sales receipt for another bottle but it had to be by the end of the month. I explained I lived 40+ miles away and it left me just 4 days to get there and it wasn't possible and his answer, "that's our policy"! For the price of an inexpensive bottle of wine, a customer lost.
