It was decorated nicely with paintings and rare editions of books contained in a small library used also as a conference room. I was there for a Meet and Greet" Cinco Del Mayo night to consider becoming a member. The members were friendly. However, there was no restaurant on the premises. They do cater some of their events up to about 42 people. I was told you can bring your own food in if you desire to. Also, they had a beautiful bar but no liquor license or bartender. The policy was bring your own bottle and use the glassware provided and be responsible for washing whatever used which I feel creates unsanitary conditions in this day and age of viruses going around. Also, there was no check room and attendant to secure your coat (in cool and inclement weather) or valuables. There wasn't any staff present only the members. If accepted as a member after filing an application and going through a formal interview your spouse wasn't able to use your benefits. He or she would be treated as an ordinary guest. The dues are reasonable and there is an initiation fee. There were only a few young members there and mostly single senior citizens filled the rooms. I did not see any couples present. 2 small phone booths were provided to use your phone so the other members would not be disturbed. There is a small area with a beautiful pool table there for members to shoot. There is no receptionist or security upon entrance. A member would have a fob or phone app to gain entrance into the building and take the elevator to the third floor. There are weekly events scheduled, free and paid. I went for the membership interview and was denied membership. Maybe it was because I spoke my mind and asked some concerning questions since I have been a member of 2 other social clubs that offered much more to their members and their partners.

The server came over to take our orders but wasn't particularly friendly. I ordered an Antidote mocktail - it has rose, hibiscus and grapefruit juice, plus a cheese board. When my drink arrived, it was opposite of the drink I described above. The drink was green for one, and tasted heavily of jalapeño, leading me to believe I was incorrectly given the Club Spice mocktail. I flagged over my server and told him I was given the wrong drink, and he proceeded to argue with me about it. I said this tastes like jalapeño and doesn't taste like the Antidote at all, there's nothing in here that indicates there is rose, hibiscus or grapefruit juice. He said "the antidote has spice in it too" which was not even accurate and "the bartender told him this was the Antidote." I repeated that this tasted like jalapeño. He finally agreed to switch out the drink, so I ordered some other mocktail that had ginger and turmeric (can't remember the name) but it was good. Took a while to come out however. It was super weird and off putting that he was arguing with me when I clearly know what I am tasting in the drink. Throughout the event, service was poor. Water wasn't refilled until 10 min before the event ended. The man sitting next to me ordered a drink early in the evening that just never showed up, I felt really bad. The cheese board is overpriced at $27 for a handful of cheese, pickled veggies and a dollop of mustard the size of my thumb. The focaccia it came with was very good however. The server never came by to close out checks when the event ended so I had to track him down and make sure to close out. 3 stars for the aesthetic of the place, the friendly front desk staff and for some of the food and drink being ok. I wonder if the service here is any better during the day when there's just members in the space. I'd come back for another Lecture event but keep my expectations low for the service.

I started with a green apple, which took me a very long time to decorate/ wrap. I took in the advice of fellow crafters who attended the session and made 2 strawberries: 1 red and 1 pink. The event lasted from 6 PM to 9 PM and I stayed till the very end. The hosts were very kind and gave good advice to newcomers. There were so many options of fruit and vegetables to choose from. I am so glad to have been picked to attend. Neuehouse hosts lots of craft nights, I recommend it to everyone.

They have empty seats in the speed event so you might speak to one person, then have to wait fifteen minutes to speak to another. Then after you speak to them brace yourself to wait another five minutes till it is your turn again. You won't get a relationship out of it but only a date if you are lucky. One person went out with me and another individual at the same time. Expect validation to take place if you do get a date. Most people won't be your type. They also allow people in that are both straight and gay and don't advertise this. This way if you are straight you will be meeting gay people. They do this to make more money. Note: review for hotel only…read more Rules are meant to be broken, no? I didn't discover until day two of my stay that I'd broken about...5 of the RNWC's rules when I walked through the door. No cell phone usage in the public corridor? Check. No denim? Check. No photos? Check. No outside food inside the hotel? Check. I forget what my other indiscretion was, but I'm sure I did something to offend the Republican Women. The upsides: --Reasonable rates for being within a stone's throw of Rockefeller Plaza. --Everyone working the front desk seemed to love my pink winter coat. I love compliments. --Rooms have that "staying at grandma's" feel with antiquey furniture. The downsides: --Unless you like to look disheveled, bring your own travel iron. There's not too many frills to these rooms. (no coffee maker, although they had a mostly-functioning hairdryer in my room.) --Don't sleep in. Housekeeping bugged me three times while I was trying to catch some z's, even with the "do not disturb" sign on the door. They even called my room! Jeez. --Expect to eat elsewhere if you're up early in the morning, their café doesn't open until after 8 a.m. Don't get busted taking photos. I think you get demerits.
