When we first viewed the property with one of there agents, they were extremely pleasant, if not a little informal, which i appreciated. We fell in love with the apartment, and the neighborhood so we applied. Our application wasn't accepted, because we didn't pass their credit check. Every credit check i do always shows that I have above average credit, borderline good credit. So I don't know how i didn't pass this part of their credit check. When i inquired as to why i was rejected as an applicant that's when the fun began. They wouldn't even tell me what kind of credit score they were looking for. The Sears representative again and again stone walled me. Refusing to provide me with any information on why I was rejected. They refused to provide me with any information, and just recited that they have a strict policy. Now I asked if we could work something out. Its customary for rental agencies to request a double security or an extra months rent for someone with a questionable credit history. I offered a second security, i even offered several months rent before moving in. No matter what I offered or suggested their representative remained apathetic and really unhelpful. It became clear that they didn't want us to rent from them. My fiance and I really loved the apartment and were really hoping to work something out. However, the staff remained uninterested and unreasonable. I would understand if they showed a little customer service and just explained why they couldn't work with us. But, all I got was uninterested and poor customer service.

I dropped the truck off at Luzi's Auto Body in July and nothing was done to the truck for months. Todd Luzi kept making empty promises and excuses. 6 months later the work was still unfinished. I finally decided to take the truck off his lot and let another shop finish the job (at additional expense to me). Adding insult to injury, Luzi insisted on cash payment and refused to accept a check, even a certified check, for the partial work done. Don't waste your time and money at Luzi's.

It must always be immaculate otherwise someone from the office has to periodically come into your home (either once every week or if you're lucky, every OTHER week) and do their inspection, telling you what HUD won't like and what needs fixing. They don't care if you're in a handicapped unit and have disadvantages when it comes to arduous tasks like cleaning. They don't care if you're often sick and are rarely able-bodied enough to get out of bed. They don't care if you're IN A HANDICAP UNIT and have strength issues with items that are too large or too heavy to handle. The only reason I have some of these cumbersome items still is because that's where the movers put them and I physically cannot move them myself or financially pay someone else to do it for me. They don't care if you don't have the money to pay someone for these services because the rent is expensive as hell despite being "subsidized," you better make it work or it violates the lease and they will take you to court and kick you out. They will not offer you help even though they like to say they're there for you and willing to help find services to help you that you usually have to pay for, which, if you live penny to penny like I do, you're SoL. It must be clean. It must be immaculate. They don't care if you're a person who has an organized chaos. It has to look perfect or it isn't good enough. No question. I once got the place perfect, to the point where I was so frustrated that I couldn't find anything because I am a person who's disorganization is orderly for me, I couldn't even find my inhaler when I needed it. Main lady from the office came for the "final inspection" looked around after I over extended my body and was an overheated and painful mess physically, I was so proud, overjoyed that FINALLY my apartment I'm paying out the ass for will finally be MINE and people can stop invading my privacy and leave me alone. But then, she just looked around, nothing blocking the egresses, nothing obstructing any escape routes in the event of a fire, the other lady who did the visits literally had told us we did good and she didn't see how we wouldn't pass inspection because we did everything she said. A side from our hutches and shelves a little over cramped everything was fine, nothing on the floor or in the way. We did everything right and main office lady who was with the lady who told us "we did amazing," just stood there looking around and hummed a, "this is good but... it's just a little cluttered." It felt like we met HUD's standard but not hers so... We didn't pass and no, she didn't tell us what needed to be done. She just left and the woman who told us we did awesome and she didn't see anything wrong, who also claimed she would be there for us if we had any questions or concerns, didn't say anything and just walked out. The blow was devastating. I worked so hard, I was in so much pain, I was so hopeful and relieved that I would finally be able to just live life with my wife and not be bothered and stressed every week by some unwanted visitor I didn't want in my home and it was all for nothing. To this day, things went backwards. I fell into a deep depression that was just getting worse with the state of the world and with depression comes an even weaker immune system. The place is no longer as clean as it was that day. The only compromise the office was willing to make after I having an absolute meltdown was "instead of once a week, we'll just visit every other week," rent has gone up and up, our apartment still doesn't feel like a home and I often fantasy about these people coming in for inspecting and finding my dead body because I am so done with this. The sad thing is, I know if I was just given time to clean the place myself with no intrusive visits or short deadline, I know I can get it done by my own pace, call them when I'm ready for them to see the end result and do the final inspection and pass for sure, but I know they won't work with me at all. I feel like this whole place is very ableist centric even though there are a lot of retirees and disabled people here. It's disgusting and I've been desperately trying to find somewhere else to move, but with the economy the way it is, I just don't see that happening. I'm either going to keep delaying the inevitable or become homeless because some people couldn't leave me alone and just trust a process that works for me. "I'm here for you," my ass. There are other problems but I'm at my character limit. If I can add the rest of my grievance's somehow, I will.
