This is a pretty decent city golf course that certainly is busy because of their budget prices. Parking is free and plentiful even when the hotel on the same property is busy too. For the golfers, there is a drive up bag drop and a pro shop to pay for the round of golf. The pro shop is very nice. It is down the hall away from the restaurant and they sell everything from logo clothing to snacks and novelty items. The employees were very nice and efficient on my last visit. I went in to purchase a gift card for a birthday present and was told that the gift card could be used for everything in the pro shop, the golf course and even the restaurant. The busiest and cheapest course to golf is called, "Glades" and because of that, it is the most worn along the greens. The least expensive time to golf here is weekdays later in the afternoon. read more

This Glades course should be closed! No grass on any of the tees, just sand. The greens have many areas with large patches of sand. The cart paths have large pot holes. Do not waste your $ playing here. read more

Id rather play 18 holes on 95 north than play at this golf course again. There was a bunker on the green, the tee boxes were bumpy and all sand, and one employee was extremely rude (the starter). The starter that worked on Wednesday, May 8th should be fired immediately if he was my employee I would fire myself for letting him work for me. He was extremely ignorant and should be checked. We showed up 20 minutes before our T time & he refused to take our ticket but allowed other players who's tee times were half an hour after us to get a cart and when we went up to him he completely ignored us. I hope no other golfers have to deal with what we did today. read more

The tee box markers are wrong are multiple holes, and the hole is anywhere from 20 to 40 yards closer than what you think. The greens are all ripped up, and full of sand, and the bunker are massively over grown with weeds, you would think they belonged to snoop Dogg. The greens around the hole are really bad, and make the bad jump all over the place, and there is more sand on the green than in the bunker, and most of the greens are torn up, and almost no dirt left. There is also no water stations, so you are forced to buy drinks from the beverage cart if you are thirsty. Overall, this course is terrible, not maintained, and just flat out terrible. Would not come back even if it was free to play. read more

We played the championship course a month ago and the glades course yesterday. The grounds crew and management should be embarrassed. The tee boxes on both courses are weeds and dirt. The greens on the glades were such a mess they are basically unputtable. Holes, weeds, bare spots just junk. Clearly they spent so much on the new clubhouse there wasn't any money to maintain the courses. So let's talk about the clubhouse, the restaurant wasn't bad but we only had burgers and fries. The bathroom is where we had questions. You build a new clubhouse and only have 1 stall in the men's room? There was an outing so the wait was impossible. There is a bath in the cart shed but seems like there was a miss on the clubhouse design. There are a lot of great courses in Broward county play one of those. read more

an okay golf course facility wise. but the staff are absolutely terrible. pro shop says carts in at 7 but cart attendants demand carts in at 6:15(after daylight savings time) we waited 10 minutes after our tee time to finnaly get a cart key after the guy gave us the cart. ( just said pick a cart, no greeting) we left a pack of balls on the counter in the pro shop and realized at hole 1 and called and the lady didn't even remember us and said no there are no balls, and wouldn't go watch the cameras to show that we arent lying. honestly just shitty employees. the hotel and restaurant are great and lovely humans. read more

As an avid and regular golfer, I was very disappointed in my recent visit to this golf course. I had not played here in over a year(due to the distance from my house(I live in Doral). My previous experience was fine, but today was quite a surprise in a bad way. They are doing quite the removation and the proshop and restaurant areas are very nice. My friend went in to purchase a beer at the turn. In trying to get it out of their minifridge it stuck on the rack, he pulled a bit harder to extract it and the beer can split in the middle and was leaking. The gentleman working the pro shop insisted that he pay for the spilt beer, stating that my friend caused this situation and would have to recompense the proprietor the full price. To me this is OUTRAGEOUS!! What kind of operation charges for this kind of accident?? We were paying golfers, an accident occured(which could be blamed on the fridge designer) but my friend was penalized. Regarding the golf course conditions...fairways-not bad, greens-ok(some top dressing, pretty smooth but not fast like before) rough-HORRIBLE. Certain greenside areas were bad a well. Many places had bare patches with long weeds. Definitely not worth the 50 bucks we were charged to play. I think it will be quite a few years before I try this place again. Hopefully management will train pro shop staff on customer SERVICE, if we do return. Alot of nice wildlife though. read more

The couple we played with just stopped after 9 holes because they couldn't take it. staff is sub par. ton of unskilled or old golfers who do not pick up their ball after 10-15 strokes. As a steady customer at least twice a week, I went there and the food was horrible and was charged full price on my wine at happy hour because he put the order in 4 minutes late. I will never patronize this place again nor will all my friends. I feel once the tourist leave then they will realize how important local patron's are for their job security. May 2022, came here with my husband, and two other friends to play golf, and we ended up on the Glades Course (1 STAR) which is really not that well kept, not like the Championship Course which I heard is really nice and well kept. All and all, I will only play at the Championship Course next time. One thing I can say the Pro Shop is newly renovated, and the staff who work here are wonderful. read more

This course is a great layout and true risk:reward design. The greens are true and in very good condition. There are areas in the fairway and first cut of rough that need a bit of overseeding. Some of the tee boxes are domed and in need of turf. The staff under the reconstruction is exceptional in info and hospitality. The cost to play this course is a gift. The colony championship west course is a great kept secret. Keep the price reasonable and the return will be great for ownership. read more

This course has come a long way from where it was a few years ago. The new ownership has done a great job so far. They have done a lot of work cleaning up the areas outside of the fairway. Prices are fair. The membership is a good deal. The online Tee times are great to schedule. The front desk is always great. Some of the starters are friendly and some are not. The course is taking shape. Some Tee boxes and greens need work. There is really no place to warm up. I am looking forward to the remodeling. read more

I was looking for a good course that wasn't to expensive where I could work on my game and bring it up to "par" (get it...lol). I have only played the Glades course. I enjoyed it. The fairways are pretty wide and you are definitely penalized when you get into the rough. There are water hazards in a couple of holes which keeps the game interesting. However, some of the greens could use some upkeep (I'd say 3 out of the 18 greens could use some work). I usually play after 4pm because it is only $15, which I think is a bargain. The clubhouse and carts are clean and the staff is friendly. I have even taken my daughter here for lessons. Another plus. They have a kids clinic here for free twice a month during peak season. The restaurant was pretty good as well. I had a burger and fries which was yummy. They do have a beverage cart that goes around the course which is key when it's hot outside (which is all of the time). They have a selection of beer and sandwiches. Now that I'm back in the swing of things (another corny joke), I will try their Championship course. I forgot to mention that they have two courses. The Championship Course is supposed to be much nicer. I will do another review when I try it. read more

Ok they have done a great job on the tees and greens plus the 18th first 100 yards or so. The trees and areas where the under scrubs had taken over has been cleaned up much more presentable. The fairways are as hard as a rock and sparse in a lot of places. The areas other then I mentioned are still full of weeds and other growths that detract from the course that was once a south Florida fav. Went to try it again last week. For all the things they they say were going to happen, didn't. Don't think they have a greens' keeper cause they are in rough shape. Speaking of rough there is none the weeds have taken over everything including parts of the fairways For one of the counties best layouts, the course is in tough shape. read more

If you ever get a chance to meet the manager Ryan inside he's a great guy, told me the clubs I should buy and the balls that were good but cheep!!! I like this golf course, but can't understand why they don't have the bathrooms open on the smaller course on the ninth hole. They are open at the clubhouse, so why not on the course??? No one wants to drive all the way back to the clubhouse! It just makes NO SENSE...... read more

When i first moved to sofla 17 yrs ago, this was my fave course in area. The Rack family of Pittsburgh, tho not the savviest business people, ran a pretty tight ship here at Colony West. Decent prices, efficient tee times, and rangers on course who kept things moving. Jump forward to now, having left the golf biz and a course that was left to nature and what you have is very sad. Billy Caspar golf now owns the property. Their website proclaims money spent on improvements etc. Not so. No yardage markers, no drinking water, an invisible beverage cart, and teeboxes, fairways and greens that are cow pasture-esque. Oh, and the cart paths will knock the fillings out of your teeth!.. Lets hope those much needed improvements appear sooner rather than later. I paid $42 for a round on the champ course, after 2 pm. Thats steep for a course in this shabby shape, season or not. Until i hear that vast improvement has been made, i will not be returning. Which makes me sad, because this is (was) a great track. read more

First words spoken to me as I waited in the Proshop 5 minutes, before someone noticed me were "you need something". Next words spoken to me were "there's going to be a rider fee for him" referring to my 5 year old that was with hoping to learn a game of etiquette and morals... it looks like it won't be long before these guys are filling bankruptcy too. Not a "hello" or one kind word spoken.... For a dying sport I don't understand why these people don't learn how to run a business.... For what it's worth they did put some money back into the course and it is in much better shape than the last owners left it. But they still haven't fixed the cart paths that will leave you driving straight to the nearest chiropractor. Colony West Championship course with the wife today. Nice course with greens recently redone, but they stack 'em too tight. Seemed like there was a golfer (or two) at every hitting position on the course. The golf company gets maximum revenue but we won't be playing here anytime soon - too much waiting. Also we played the glades course last week. It has no par 5s and the greens are in dire need of reconstruction. Serious golfers need not play there. And as we sit in the (admittedly decent) clubhouse after 18, we see s group of six (yes six) golfers finishing on 18. Not acceptable. read more

Played the Glades Exec course and it was great for our Jr Golfer. Since the course reopened I didn't expect much but the staff was very helpful and kid friendly. The course shows signs of better maintenance and improving conditions. The staff and food in the clubhouse were excellent. Will be going back with my grand kids and to also play the Chamo course. read more

I tried to book a on-line tee time to play, but being a single player they would not allow. They tell you just to come to the course and they will pair you up with others who are not paired in foursomes. The problem is in the price since you cannot book on line they charge you the daily walk up price which is 10-15.00 more than their on line price. They have no drinking water on the course, just a beverage cart you never see, no yardage GPS and charge high prices. When they advertise on Golf Now and say Go Play my advise is GO SOMEWHERE ELSE this place managed by Billy Casper Golf is a rip off. read more

The Track has vastly improved over the past year. Greens are rolling smoothly, however the fairways remain thin and teeing ground needs to be improved. The pace of play on weekends remains slow, not because of the volume on the course, but they allow Twosomes to go out without forcing a pairing with another two players. Additionally, Rangers, when they are around do not seem to be willing to take the action necessary to speed up play. So expect five hour rounds as a norm. read more
