I have been using the same place forever, so it was fun to come into Color Lab! Great energy, and fun vibe. Pascale was a great stylist. Smart, asked good (and practical questions) and made great suggestions on product and hair care too. Really happy with my color and cut. Before coming here, I had a terrible dye job done by another salon that made my hair dark red which was the opposite of what I wanted and also the hardest colors to remove. Yet the very next day I was able to get in with Eva Leiva and her team who was able to remove all of the red and black colors to give me my dream hair color! Went today for a cut with Donnell and it was great per usual. I'll start off by saying that I've been seeing Donnell for 12 years now and I've grown to trust and respect his work. I have naturally curly hair and when I first came to him I started perming my hair, then I did the "big cut" and went to shoulder length curls, and now I'm getting a fade with a short top. As far as the style goes I trust him and love the work he's done so I just let him do his thing. Every time I get a cut I get compliments for the next couple days. Here's what I love. Donnell knows I get my hair cut once a month, so he styles it to look good a month from now too. It's usually the second and third week that people are always amazed at how good my hair still looks! Could and would not recommend anyone else more! (He's always posting pics of his work on Facebook if you wanna see examples) Moving on.. The atmosphere is inviting. You walk in and are greeted by the receptionist (sometimes the owners too). They know my name and almost always offer me a water. There's a drink station at the front with ice (which is nice during hot days). The waiting area is very comfortable. The place is clean and the stations are very cute! Full-length, fully lit, chrome mirrors.with very comfortable chairs. In efforts of keeping this short, I'll finish with this. If you want a great cut (that will age well), a soothing shampoo, advice on how to style your hair (with the products in house) and all that in a clean, fun yet professional atmosphere this is your place. I really really hate to do this, but I unfortunately need to edit my great review from a couple of weeks ago. When I first got my hair dyed by Sandy with a semi-permanent red, I loved it in the salon and he was so patient and helpful. When I got home and in the days thereafter (without washing it) I noticed in natural light that the dye was horribly uneven. After one single wash, it got even worse, and there was a line of demarcation between bright red on my roots and muted red/brown on the rest of my hair. I contacted The Color Lab to see if I could have it fixed but I got no response, which is why I'm leaving a review here. I went to another salon to have it patched up but they said that it looked like the bright dye at my roots was permanent since it was so bright and would not budge from my hair. A couple of weeks later, and this is still true, while the rest of my hair continues to fade. I'm not sure if it really is permanent, but if it is this is a huge error as I was very clear I did not want a permanent dye. I'm going to another salon in a couple of weeks to have it color corrected back to my natural hair color, which will be an expensive and lengthy process. In total, this whole debacle will have cost me almost $500 and I didn't get what I wanted. At this point I just want the $190 back I paid for a patchy hair dye job. He is THE BEST! My hair used to grow really slow and be slightly dry and brittle. I've been seeing Eli for over 10 years and get compliments on my hair all the time: it's healthy, it grows fast, it's stronger and shinier.
