The staff here was just so nice and pleasant. We walked in on a Saturday and while there were obviously a couple small groups already scheduled and the space is not very large. It was not a problem getting us in to paint some items. We had an impromptu date here, and I would also say that this was one of the nicer ways to spend a Saturday afternoon that we had found. The process is pretty simple. Check in with the front desk they have you pick out a piece too please assign a table and then explain the process of how to wait on Keys to get the best result. They take care of everything after you are done applying the number of coats that you want on your item and you return after a few days to pick up. It's very simple and you can take your time. There were a mix of adults and groups that involve children, but this is not a place that I would bring very young children unsupervised or without high-level supervision. Price pay on most of the pieces to paint is around $30 and up. You can do a smaller item like an ornament for much less but people play a coffee mug about $20-$30 for what took us several hours to complete and it was very enjoyable time. Parking is available if you go around the block there is parking behind the "house". There's also street parking available on the side streets if that is filled. . read more

I took boys ages 10,9, and 7 here on a Friday night. We had the loveliest time. The woman who checked us in was so sweet and helped us pick our pieces even though we changed our minds about ten times. They have so many options for kids including coin banks, mine craft, Legos, animals, and more. Color Me Mine is a fun time. You get to choose from their display of ceramics and you can paint using all of the paints at your disposal. They set you up with palettes, brushes, and walk you through how your colors will appear once it's out the kiln. You leave your painted pieces with them and by the time you pick it up (they send you a text when your ceramics are ready), it's nice and glossy and all yours to keep! The ceramics they provide is a great selection of decorative items to stuff you can use (mugs, plates, dishes, storage containers). I'd say if you want to secure a spot here, definitely set up an appointment, especially if you're a big group since the space is rather small and can fill up quickly! My first experience in this place was great. I painted ceramics with my fiancé til closing time and wasn't rushed. But the second experience I had over the summer really turned me off due to lack of transparency regarding when they stop accepting walk-ins (6:30pm). I had to come back another day, which caused more confusion and caused one of the staff members to lie about my prior visit. I don't know why she did but it was enough to put me off. I doubt my personal experience will be anything like yours, so saving the details to myself. Instead, I highly encourage setting up an appointment for a smoother experience. read more

I like the establishment and the team members were friendly, the host of our party of 9 was very helpful with color options and helping correct somethings. The options that we were able to pick from could have been a little better but I am satisfied with what I picked out. So time goes by and we had one person assigned to pick up all the pieces, we received some of pieces back incorrect. Some of the instructions were not executed properly, for instance my mom & I designed a heart shaped mug that connects together, she requested writings on her mug and instead they put it on mine.. so pretty disappointed about that. I needed air in the tire when heading to NC and these folks were ao kind to help me out with no problem!

Initially, the visit was great. It was the experience afterwards that was unacceptable. After nearly 3 hours, the three of us had completed our masterpieces. After weeks of hearing nothing, a follow up call revealed somehow one of our masterpieces was lost. Color me mine didn't bother to notify my friend of this issue at any point; had she not called in to see if it was ready, I don't think we would have heard from them at all. I was also advised when I went to retrieve the completed ones that they'd called and her voicemail was full which is a blatant lie. They had no intention of righting this wrong. For "compensation" she was offered a refund or a redo which is utterly laughable given the circumstances. This missing piece is the mug below. read more

This 2-story paint and pottery studio in the heart of Ghent is a fun spot, perfect for groups, special events, date nights or good ole' alone time stress relief. You buy whatever piece/project you want to paint and pay a small fee that covers your sitting time, art supplies and instruction. It can be pricey with multiple people if you go on a whim but I used a groupon and it was definitely worth it. They have tons of ceramics to chose from with something to fit everyone's taste. Staff are super friendly, patient and helpful in sharing tips and decorative techniques. They said items are ready for pickup 5 days AFTER you complete them in studio but mine was ready in 3. Typical Ghent street parking available; fortunately for people like my wife who hate parallel parking, there's also a small private lot for patrons behind the building. This is fun for the whole family. It's just not cheap! They have some parking in the back...but they want you to walk around and come in the front door. Lots of selections to paint, lots of samples to see, lots of colors to mix. Seating is tightly crammed together. Party room upstairs so it gets loud when those groups are coming and going or both at the same time. Staff was friendly enough....and helpful when you asked. My biggest complaint: cost. We each painted an item and our family cost was $84. We got 2 coffee mugs, a salsa bowl(small) and a soap dish. It was a great time, but we could have fun a little cheaper most anywhere else lol. But my kids are still asking to go back months later. So we will sometime soon. They do have monthly specials to knock off the sitting fee or buy one get one sitting fee. If you are looking for something different and fun to do that will occupy a few hours of your day this is the place to be. This was my first time to a color me mine studio for a private event and fundraiser. I love that there are so many pieces to choose from but wasn't a huge fan of the prices being that I am not an artist and didn't want to pay upwards of $10-$60 on a piece that would look like crap. I settled for the cupcake dish. I thought that would be a perfect option since I would have to make up a design, the design was there for me and all I had to do was fill it in. The employee was very helpful in showing you different paint colors and techniques to use. The techniques come in handy when you are working on a piece where you need to use your imagination. The downside to this and really any other paint your own pottery places is that you have to wait 5-7 for your piece to be fired in order to receive it back after painting. There is also a $10 studio fee which Im assuming covers paint costs, they do have discounts during the week that I will probably take advantage of in the future. read more

We had a great time at Color Me Mine! The staff were all super helpful and we were excited to come back. Unfortunately, we were a bit disheartened when we picked up our finished mugs. Our light colored mug had several noticeable black smears on it that definitely were not there when we left. Disappointing for the price we paid/time spend painting. I first found out about this place when I was in California. We had arranged a party at the local Color Me Mine to paint. At first I was skeptical but I didn't realize what a wide array of ceramic pieces they had. I just wish they would be able to give a better idea of what to expect on their website! I think that would actually entice people to come. Although you may think that this is a little kiddy place, but the truth is when I went in on Saturday, I think there were 3 kids and almost 15 adults painting various things from cups to plates to sculptures. Right now they have a halloween theme and you can special order ceramic pumpkins/jack o lanterns with your name in them. They have kitchen supplies, small clay figurines, tiles and many other things! There are gargoyles, dragons, fairies, fish, birds, frogs, lizards and many more (Sounds like I'm singing "part of your world"). I don't really like the parking situation. You can't park anywhere near them since there is nothing but a few spots on the street next to the Starbucks. You'll have to park in the public parking across from the Naro and then walk over. Their space is limited on the bottom floor. When they have parties, they take the people upstairs so other customers can continue to stroll in! Again, great place. The people working there are patient and nice. They have a lot of great tips to help get you going. Many different colors of paint. If you're an amateur, this is a great place. If you're more skilled, this is also a great place. You see talent of all kinds. I strongly encourage the store owner to post some of the great pieces that customers paint! read more

Was here for a 6 yr old birthday party. I will try not to let that fact jade my review. It seems like a great business model, but I was more distracted by all of the kids. Parking is limited but there is off street parking behind the building off Colley avenue. They have a pretty good selection of items to paint. I also didn't know what their prices are like , so I am writing this review with one hand tied behind my back. The upstairs is where the birthday party was located. It is a good place for about 10-15 kids. There is one bathroom, so there were about 20 bathroom breaks for all of the kids. The staff was very friendly and all into the business model. She was also good interacting with all of the crazy kids. I think that you have to pay for the ceramic piece and then there is a sitting fee. The place wasn't crowded on the first floor and there were about 5 table, with two of them being occupied. Bottom line is that if I am desperate for something to do with my kids and I have about $40 burning a hole in my pocket, then I would go there. read more
