    We made it!

We were looking for something to do out of the heat and my daughter mentioned doing an escape room. This one just happens to be a few blocks away on Bonney and we honestly didn't realize the escape rooms were in that building (we thought it was their headquarters or something). The 3 of us did the High Noon Saloon and finished with 7 minutes left with a little help. Anaka was fantastic at getting us set up with the rules, the background of the game, and then with a few requested hints throughout the game (and even clued us in on the fact that we had something right but just didn't operate the lock correctly). Overall was a a good hour out of the heat, pretty fun, and something we will be doing again!

The only escape room I've ever been to in VA beach and we love it. We have done all their rooms except mission 60 since that's only for 3 people max and we always go with at least 6 people. All the rooms are so fun and challenging at the same time. The clue masters are very friendly and we love that they change the decor and rooms periodically. Highly reccomend it here for group outings.

Escape room was a lot of fun! Emily was a great game master. Was very quick to help us with hints when we needed them, even asked if we needed help when she saw us struggling. Was a little pricey, but besides that, the Neptune room was a lot of fun!

    We had a blast!

Took my kids and we loved it! Rooms were well thought out and challenging. Our Grandmaster Abby was the best! She was attentive and knew how to nudge us in the right direction without giving us the answers. The Con Artist was one of the better rooms we've ever tried to escape.

My friends and I enjoy going to escape rooms. After we went to an escape room a week ago where we finished the room in less than 20 minutes. So yeah, we need a challenge. The room that we picked was the King Neptune's Trident. It was a huge room, where we need to find the Trident. The room was hard compared to the other rooms that we went to. We were 1 lock away from finishing the room, which was a bummer. The room was decorated based on the theme. The staff were nice and we had so much fun. We'll definitely be back to try the other rooms.

This was my second time doing an escape room at Escape Room VB. As always, my experience was just as fun at my first time! We did the King Neptune escape room and it definitely got us working our brains. Can't wait to go again.

Compared to other competitors we've done recently (I'm looking at you "Smarty Pants"), this spot reigns supreme in start to finish experience quality along with welcoming atmosphere, marketing/branding, game play, technology, challenges/obstacles/puzzles, and scenario creativity and innovation. It seems ownership cares about family friendly customer experiences, evident from amenities, cleanliness/upkeep and well crafted flow: iPads at check-in, warm greeting from well trained staff that efficiently orient you without making you feel like you're being hastily cycled through (#humanchurn). In 2015, this was me and my wife's first ever EsRm adventure when we beat "Traveling Crook," a 5 star difficulty rated double room, with the help of 3 other couples. Our recent return with our kids to do "Detention Hall" (3 star difficulty) was a blast at a HIGH VALUE rate. PRO TIP: check Groupon and their website, plus sign up for their email promos. Wife and I tried to get every family member involved; we even had the last clue licked but entered the code incorrectly just as time expired. #WompWomp. Still, without sharing spoilers, the scenario creativity, tech and innovation were light years beyond other competitors' offerings. I should also mention the digital timer and hint counter that appear on the wall mounted HDTV. Nice touch, again. Left with our heads high (enough) to take a photo commemorating our fun-filled family time; tipped the game master before heading out to our car parked in the shared lot located directly in front of the business.

    Team 2 CDS rules!

Had a blast with the saloon room with my coworker friends. Friendly staff and helpful when we needed it. Great group adventure. It's 60 mins of touching and looking at everything that you normally would not think twice about.

Brandon was nice over the phone, sharing availability and suggesting the lone family friendly room (90's). Booked via SPER website, code made it $90 for 6 ppl, no tax. PRO TIP: check Groupon, add coupon code at checkout for even lower cost. Dark parking lot amplified awkward traffic flow/points of entry and exit; nearly hit by an exiting car while we waited for a space. Inside was open and definitely minimalistic; liked the ping pong table but chuckled at the single (10x13) framed paper logo sign above "the desk," staffed by a female employee that only handled waivers. When I asked how long they were open, she said "after you're done." #Welcome Brandon fumbled through the clunky scenario introduction before walking us up to the room. Some good retro aspects (boom-box, Simon, ET doll, etc) BUT, overall, pretty low rent decor: worn carpet, pixelated color printer "posters," analog wall timer. Ironically, this is a tad reflective of the 90's but mostly my knock against the quality. Lackluster puzzles, challenges, and tasks. A key mistakenly opened 2 different padlocks. #QualityControl. We probably won't return, even if they do deploy more family friendly scenarios. VB escape Room has $90 special for 6 ppl with waaaay more innovation and better crafted scenarios.

I mistook it for an abandoned building. I came in and the room was spacious and open with some corn holes and a ping pong table. I signed in and waited for the rest of my group. They were in the process of training staff, so our introduction was told to us by a trainee. She was ok, but could have been more excited about it. We were showed upstairs to the room and explained the story. The room had good props. We ended up missing a clue because they had curtains closing the room off and another set after the first set of curtains. It was a bit confusing. We had a great time. It was fun! I'd go back again for sure and check out the other rooms.

One thing missing is an information desk. And if they had one, I never saw it…read more I only did the bowling activity which was fun; there are so many lanes and a VIP room with additional lanes. The cost was per lane vs per person and you pay at the counter in the bowling area. If you're in the military/a vet let them know as you get a DISCOUNT. Not only that, but shoe rental and sock are free, (normally around $3.50 each). Since I didn't go in with intentions to bowl I didn't bring any, but was able to get a free pair since my cousins benefit applied to everyone in the party. The socks are actually cute (to me). It was very busy on a Friday evening and the crowd seemed to be teens and adults. Very few small kids. The servers come to the lanes to take orders, and the tablet at the bowling lane has a button to press for their help. Since it was taking long, we just ordered drinks from the bar nearby. The food, ordered later was simple, but good. -Sunset strawberry sangria is good, but could use more strawberry flavor. - Mozzarella sticks are no different then what you'd get at the grocery store and for the price the amount given isn't enough. - Wings, got a double order, 1/2 sweet chili, 1/2 garlic parmesan. I've often seen the latter on menus and steered clear because it didn't sound appealing. However, since it was ordered (for the group) I figured I'd give it a try. It was Soooooo good that I before I left I placed a to go order. Servers and staff were overall kind, but very busy. Lots of running and trying to take care of everyone. There weren't many smiles, but I imagine they were focused on the task at hand. Anyway, be kind and be patient. If you're staying at a nearby hotel let them know your going to Apex. I did (as I inquired about directions) and was given afree pass for laser tag, which I gave away.

We arrived around 10 minutes after it opened and it was already starting to get busy. You can pay to play at the desk next to the bumper cars which is closest to the ropes course, escape rooms, axe throwing and go kart racing. They do offer military discounts with an ID, just ask. They will give you a ball color of your choice for game use when you pay. Clubs are at the entrance to the right of the golf course along with the score cards and pencils on the wall. I love how they have a place at each hole number to place the score card and pencil which also provides a surface to write down your score. The course is under black lights which the edges of the course are outlined. 9/2024 This was pleasantly fun! However, it was multi -sensory overload for me the moment I walked in. We were there to celebrate my niece's birthday as a belated birthday treat for her & we had family come in out of town, who also recently had a birthday. If you do research on their website you will discover they have A LOT to do! But like everyone has mentioned activities are individually priced. I feel like the more you book, the more you should get some combo discount. They do offer 15% off for military with an ID, but not online. Caveat - It's only in person with proof of ID and you can't come in earlier in the week or in advance and pay for attractions for the future and get the 15% military discount off. It has to be purchased & used on the same day for it to be applied. There are no military discounts on Dark Ride. Some attractions you need to book in advance online like bowling, escape rooms, axe throwing, & the simulators. Check their website for any changes. Saturdays are popular, so I signed a contract for advanced scheduled attractions so that my niece and cousin could participate in the activities they wanted, to prioritize & not be disappointed or waiting a long time to participate. You do get a discount if you do so but a signed contract & payment is due prior. You don't even have to come in person to do it. Either call or email for your inquiries and they can work something out for you. We didn't book a party although you can do that but a food minimum is required and a reserved room is only for 45 minutes. Skyla, one of the events coordinator made things super easy & convenient to book. She was very helpful answering questions. I had never been so I wasn't familiar where attractions were located. Once I found out, I planned all the activities on the same floor back to back for convenience & chose available times that were roughly 30 minutes apart. We just showed up, checked in at the desks located close to that attraction. Silas, one of the managers came to greet me and informed me where to go. He was pleasant and willing to answer any questions. We did the 30 minute Zombie Research Lab escape room. You want to check in 20 minutes prior to your reserved time. It was fun and we broke out with 7 min & 22 seconds left with a group of six. They have quality props and hints pop up on the tv monitor. Four of us participated in the ropes course. You're allotted 15 minutes to do whatever elements you want. They make you empty out all your pockets for safety since you're 40 feet above the ground over the bowling alley. I'm not sure if it was because we booked it as a group under a contract that it was only the 4 of us at the one session, but that was nice. There were maybe one or two elements that were challenging. But it was still fun! Our 3rd activity was axe throwing which is a flat fee regardless of the number of people, max of 6 per lane for an hour. Darrel was our instructor and he was fun! We really enjoyed ourselves and with some of us he really tried his best to help land some throws but some just couldn't. There were alot in our group that didn't participate but they were able to enjoy us throwing axes. My niece was killing it with her throwing skills. Our last activity was an hour of bowling. These are time sensitive so you better arrive 15 min earlier to get your rental shoes and pick your ball. We did the VIP lane which is an additional price but great because there are only 4 VIP lanes and they are away from the rest of the lanes. You can still see lanes 5 and on but there's a glass wall in between & it's a lot quieter. The seating is comfortable and enough to fit six people. Bowling is also a flat fee for an hour or more up to six people. Plus an additional $5 pp for shoe rentals. But if you have a military ID you can get up to six shoe rentals for free. You can also order food at your lanes but I don't think anyone came by to take our order. Unless someone in our group went up & ordered. Overall we spent from 2pm -7pm there. We even squeezed in a hologate game of Zombie Resurrection which is an adventure in itself!

We arrived on an early and rainy Saturday afternoon thinking this placed would be PACKED but it was actually not very busy - but it did start getting much busier, closer to the 4-5PM time frame though. This place wasn't as big as I thought it would be - felt kind of cramped...? It has a small arcade area, maybe 30 games or - standard D&B type of games. The reward zone was lacking some cool prizes so if you're looking to redeem something cool, you'll be severely disappointed. They have 4 food stalls and they had burgers, pizzas, nachos, sandwiches, boba, wings, etc. They even had adult beverages too! Prices were pretty standard. I was just excited that they had nachos :-) They also have a small jungle gym area - I think mainly for kids between the ages of 4 and 12 which was a nice touch. As far as the skating rink, it's not small by any means but it's not huge either. I was able to skate without having to dodge too many people. I am sure towards the evening hours it can get a bit crazy! I would love for them to take song requests which I think would be fun. Prices for the skate rentals was very affordable especially since it wasn't time constricted. Something was off about the vibe of this place for me - it almost seemed like it wasn't "popping" to me. Was missing the wow factor and I didn't feel excited? This is a cool place to check out if you don't have anything else to do. Looks like a good place to have a kids birthday party though.
