We arrived as walk in. The team is extremely polite and welcoming. We felt no pushing at any step. We were allowed to work slowly on our crafts. With a simple hand in the air, we were immediately approached for help, like asking general question or asking for additional paint. We arrived well before closing, so couple hours was great for us. A fun experience I recommend to do on a weekday, midday when it's not so packed & hectic. We went on a Saturday afternoon & they were able to pencil us in quickly which was great. after that everything else just got a tad hectic. There was just no real order in place & directions on what to do next once we were all set up at the table. Not sure where to even begin. I threw a party there for my child rented the " private room" because there was 20 plus guest. Party started at 4:30 they said to get there at 4:15 to set up before anyone comes. Right off the bat my mother inlaw walks in and the woman at the front ( the OWNER )was disgustingly ignorant to her and my father inlaw saying they have to wait exactly until 4:30 when they were helping me set up I was getting the rest of the decorations and my daughter out of the car. So I go in and say hi yes I'm the mother of the bday party and immediately the attitude changes... so the party begins thankfully the girl in charge of my daughters room completely changed the vibe and made it great for my child. So we're wrapping everything up and I was TOLD to my face that in a week I'll be receiving a call when to pick them up... it's been two weeks so I'm like okay this is strange let me call them. Well right off the bat the woman answering the phone was ignorant so I explained the situation and she goes we don't call when they're ready so of course I was like okay I'm just going off what I was told at the party that I'll be receiving a call to come get them. She cuts me off and goes I just said we don't call ... you pick them up ..it's on your receipt to pick them up a week after the party. I chose not to even go back and forth this this woman, so needless to say the customer service is truly HORRENDOUS. Especially when we paid all this money for our child to be treated like such crap. No matter where I go - even if it's a kid's place I always get involved and do what the kids do (I'm not gonna just sit around and watch) well, this place has hundreds of ceramic pieces to choose from and paint colors, brushes & sponges galore along with many different painting techniques. After a couple of times, you know the deal and you pretty much are on your own. Nice to sit down, pretend you are a professional pottery painter, have a great "kid" conversation with the young ones and look forward to picking up your kiln-cooked piece of finished pottery! I will not be returning. The staff was rude and unprofessional. Customer service requires being attentive to customers. I thought maybe they were overwhelmed because they were busy. However I've returned on several occasions and left each time unimpressed. My kids are little to care, but I've gone with my husband and a friend and they were both uncomfortable. On October 19, 2019, I had my MeetUp group come here. I'm the organizer of the group and thought this would be a great idea for us to do. I've heard a lot about it, but never did it myself. It was seven of us and we arrived right when they opened which was 11a. Of course, I also made the reservation days prior to make sure they could accommodate us. We were greeted by a lady with short brown hair. She was absolutely on it! Not only did she assist each of us individually with our questions, but she was hands on with giving us ideas and showing us paint techniques. There was also a gentleman who always came by asking us if we needed more paint or help. Overall, the experience was a great one. My group agreed, they enjoyed themselves and the experience and we will be coming back again soon! read more

I have been wanting to try Color Me Mine for a long time now so when I saw the Groupon for the Voorhees location I had to purchase! The Groupon was $15 for $30 of studio fees and ceramic items. If I would have read the Groupon a little more carefully and I would have realized that there is a $10 service fee per adult ($7 per child). When my friend and I went to redeem my Groupon I realized we only had $10 left to use for ceramics and the rest had to be paid out of pocket. There are many different ceramic items for you to select from that it can be a bit overwhelming. The ceramics start around the $10 (although there are very few this price) and from there the price raises and raises. Since this was my first time I decided to keep it simple and I chose a small ceramic reindeer. After we picked our ceramics an employee took us to the color station and we wrote our paint numbers down a paper. My friend and I took a seat and the employee delivered us our ceramic and paint colors. The employee kept checking on us and asking us if we needed our paint refilled. After three (maybe four..I sort of lost count) coats of paint and almost 90 minutes my small reindeer was complete! The whole painting process was stressful and enjoyable at the same time. Stressful because I am a perfectionist and wanted my reindeer to look perfect. Enjoyable because I got to spend time chatting painting a ceramic reindeer with one of my best friends! Color Me Mine also offers Canvas Painting classes a few times a week for $40 and the classes (at least on the weekends) are BYO. I would like to try this out one day. Reservations can be made about a month or two in advance. The experience was fun but a little costly. I think I would only come back if I had another Groupon. read more

A nice studio with very unpleasant staff. Not a smile or even a hello upon entering. It was all instructions and don't touch anything warnings. She told us we couldn't help ourselves to paint, to only use one pallette and one brush etc. Clearly this is just stemming from her laziness in not wanting to have to clean up a lot of supplies. When you are paying $50+ to have your kids paint some pottery- I would expect that we can use as many brushes and palettes as their heart's desire. It's a shame really- it should be a place where families can have fun together and are encouraged to be more creative, not less. Will not return. read more

Brought a friend and her 7 year old daughter here for a day of painting! Her daughter had a great time, as did we! The staff working was very polite and although every seat was full in the shop, still took the time to sit with us and make sure we were understanding how everything worked. They gave us a great, detailed explanation of the process. At one point, the owner, although very busy even took the time to sit down with us and give us some pointers! I was very impressed at how the whole store was operated. Despite what some reviewers have written, we were were greeted very politely as well as able to use as much paint as necessary . I was very pleased that so much was at our disposable that we were not charged for that I have been charged for at other establishments. I came in early to do a quick project for a gift. My assistant was super helpful and understanding. She knew I was in a rush so she got everything out fast,prepped me, we picked a plate and I started painting. The boss came and she was also very friendly. It's hidden but a cool spot. On Monday March 11 2019, at 3:30 my very excited to paint 10 year old brother and I arrived. (Quick backstory after our mother and his father passed, I take my brother out every Monday after school to do something fun.. since it's winter there's not to much to do.. we were very excited to learn about this place!) Before we went I read up on the website about their services and especially their hours of operation. We walked in, a blonde woman (who I didn't ask her name but I should have) was alone, washing things in the back sink. We stood at the front desk and she approached, seeming to be obviously very very annoyed. She greeted us abruptly by asking "are you picking up or painting?" I said "to paint" she then rolled her eyes, huffed and said "there isn't enough time to paint!" meanwhile we were standing in front of a gigantic clock.. and I said very confused "oh? Is 3:30? You close at 5?" She looked at the clock and fumbled over her response trying to make excuse saying there isn't time? She then proceeded to basically pick a fight with me about it talking in circles but not clearly or kindly communicating the problem and why we couldn't paint. Luckily my brother stepped out front so he didn't have to hear the nonsense or be disappointed. I'm glad because no child should be exposed to that especially coming from an employee that works at a place that is geared for children. Once my brother stepped out she said we could paint but there was NOway we were going to stay after being clearly unwanted ..to was pay what like at least 50-60$ after being talked to so awful and what to be stuck there with an employee that clearly doesn't want us there? She said she was trying to explain to me that it takes 2 hours to paint and children his age gets upset when they can't finish, but we could come back pay another $8 fee to finish another day. In response to those first off there is NOWAY my 10 year old brother was going to sit and paint for 2 hours. Secondly, there was no reference that I saw on their website or social media saying to allow 2 hours of time to paint. Even if it did it doesn't matter because he gets home from school at 3.. a half hour drive we got there literally 3:30 on the dot. I suggested they put that on the website. In the end I felt like she was just annoyed cus she didn't want any more customers or wanted to finish early. That's the vibe she gave off the bad with her instant agitation in the very start of when we walked in. I have never wrote a review, and I can't believe I'm even writing this but it was so wrong and left such a bad taste in my mouth. The problem was the way she communicated, her attitude from the beginning did not help at all. This would have went a lot differently if she greeted us without being annoyed from the start. If we walked in and she said "hey guys! Here to paint or pick up?" And then said without agitation or making us feel unwanted "so we do close at 5 but generally it takes 2 hours to paint, but you can come back and finish another day (with the $8 paint fee) if you don't finish today!" We would have stayed painted and def would have been out of there by 5. I'm truly sad that it turned out the way it did, and hope that by writing this better lines of commutation can be formed and attitudes can be checked. read more

So beyond pissed. We (me, my husband and both my daughters 10&15) went to Color Me Mine in Voorhees on 12/30.(and I can tell you it was not at all cheap for the 4 of us to paint) Went back to pick up our finished pieces on 1/7 (the day after they were supposed to be ready)the lady behind the counter takes my pieces out of the bag and starts to show them to me for inspection. The first piece out was mine and she looks and puts it down and hurry up and turns it away. Of course I pick it up immediately and see there is a chip on the corner, she continues to unwrap the others. The kids came out great and without any problem then she unwraps my husbands (a simple coffee mug) and turns it away from me. I grab it and the whole one side of the lip of the coffee cup has no paint on it. So I bring both the chip in mine and the missing paint to her attention She said well there must have been some oils on his fingers that got on the lip while he was painting( I didn't want to tell her that the only way to avoid that would have everyone wear gloves) she said it's very common on coffee cup she said I could either repaint the lip after she sanded it or she could paint it for me. Well since I went there after a 10 hour work day I wasn't about to pull up a chair and paint. I asked her to fix both his and mine. She said they would be ready for pick up today (1/14) I go back and the girl working not only couldn't find my pieces but used the computer twice to find out what it was that we painted after I had already told her verbally twice. 10 mins later she comes back with my piece only to grab her sander and phone and goes into the back another 7 mins later she comes back and says that she talked to her boss and she said that the cup was a "call out" ‍ and they told me they would call me when it was out of the fire and it should be ready by tomorrow afternoon. Nope sorry that's not what I was told by the owner when I came here last week. So now I have to go back again whenever they decide to call me for a cup that may or may not be fixed. I had a friend tell me not to use this place but I figured it had been a few years so the problems were solved. Well apparently not. I will never use Color Me Mine in Voorhees again. read more

My aunt, her twelve year old daughter and I went about a month ago and we were extremely disappointed. While they do have a nice selection of pottery, the overall price and experience was terrible! The customer service was so poor it ruined what fun we could have had. The staff ignored us the entire time and the few times we tried to engage them they were extremely rude and had far more important things to do like snicker with one another and rolling their eyes. when I made a comment to the manager/ owner she was demeaning, rude and belittling. She even went so far as to say that " she could be as absent or annoying as we would like" when I mentioned the lack staff interaction. Terrible, just terrible. We will never visit this location ever again and I will be sure to warn anyone who feels like they would like to go. read more

I found this place to be VERY expensive. Their pieces are pricey - $40 for a cookie jar - plus you have to pay your studio fee. While there with my children, the staff was nice enough, but not at all helpful. We had to replenish our own paints, as did everyone else. Several people repeatedly left paint at their tables, so that you had to go on a hunt for your colors. No one told us about stencils, finishing paints, techniques or gave us any guide for design though we told them it was our first time. For myself and 3 children it was $130. I will say the place was very clean, beautiful, well stocked and we DID have a good time. It's just not a good time we'll be having again anytime soon. read more

So my grandchild was so excited about learning how to paint. The owner told my daughter that even though she was a little younger that the age for the class she could try it and see how it goes. She is a very well behaved child and follows directions well. Upon arrival the instructor had a different opinion, which she expressed IN FRONT OF THE CHILD , which had her in tears. Her comment was she is too young , she probably will not take direction and it is too difficult for her. All of which she could have said to my daughter privately without making my grand daughter feel terrible. what type of person does that to a child , when they are supposed to be working with children. If you have a sensitive , talented or creative child take him or her elsewhere this is not the place. This instructor that supposed to teach young people how to paint needs to be taught how to treat young people as people and not judge based on her opinion of what 6 1/2 year olds can or can't do. She will attend an art class because she loves to paint and draw ( and by the way is very good at it) only not here. Very disappointing Apparently the owner supports this type of behavior, since instead of being sorry for the way the child was treated, she made excuses for why the insensitive behavior was ok. My sisters and I recently went to color me mine in Voorhees to paint pottery for fun. My younger sister (20 years old) touched a piece of pottery from the selection shelf and was yelled at by the owner. I don't want to buy an overpriced mug if I've never held it in my hand before. She was extremely rude to us and made the experience uncomfortable instead of enjoyable. When we returned to pick up our pottery unfortunately the owner was there once again. When we walked in she said and I quote, "Oh, god don't tell me you're here to paint" and questioned why our youngest sister (8) was not in school (it was her birthday). Then she turned to the other adult there with her children and asked why her child wasn't in school. The woman replied, "it's his birthday...". She was once again extremely rude not only to us but also other customers. I was going to take my friend here to paint next week for her birthday but I won't be spending any more money here. read more

I have only painted at Color Me Mine a handful of times, but every time I have gone it has been an enjoyable experience. I have painted my son a dragon bank, a mug with his footprint which came out awesome by the way and the owner even offered to write his name and date on the mug for me, and just recently I brought my son in to paint his own bank. Every time I have gone the staff has been helpful and encouraging. It upsets me to see all the negative reviews based on price or unhappy with the staff. As far as the price goes it could get a little pricey based on the piece that you picked but there are no hidden fees everything is right up front so you know exactly what you are paying before you even choose your piece and sit down to paint it. read more
