Now the not so good - I had given up on ever seeing my knife again (1 star). I sent it by registered mail from MA and it arrived in CO on 11/29. I got back my serviced knife back on 1/16 - a little over 6 weeks. Along the way, I sent email to inquire on progress and never received a reply. I tried phoning but I reached something that is neither a person nor a voice mailbox; just a dead end. I read the older reviews and my heart sank and I gave up. I'm 65 and that knife belonged to my dad... and maybe his dad. I think Edge Masters would benefit enormously from cleaning up their Web site, responding to email, and answering their phone - I imagine they're overwhelmed with work so at least clean up the Web site; give customers reasonable expectations. I emailed them explaining that I was new to Japanese knives and didn't have a frame of reference for optimal sharpness. The owner replied promptly and invited me to stop by anytime. When I went in, he confirmed that there was indeed a spot on my blade that wasn't as sharp, and he offered to sharpen it for me. I agreed, and he did an excellent job for a very reasonable price. He was also friendly and clearly knowledgeable, which makes me feel confident about bringing my knife back in the future. After receiving a quote we immediately got on the phone and ready to refinance our home to securely correct any problems (which were caused by the home builder). Ready to call David and set up an appointment to get to work, the health department shows up with allegations called in by David. Needless to say we went with another company and fixed our issue.. I would not recommend this guy to my dog. That was a very low blow and you sir, lost out on nearly $100,000.00.. ​. It doesn't pay to be unprofessional and a jackass!!!
