Mmmmkay... so I had left a 5 star review previously because up until now, I had never had an issue with their Mystic spray tan. I went in last night, got a medium spray tan per usual. I've done these a few dozen times, so it's safe to say I know what I'm doing. Did my same routine before coming in, showered early in the day, exfoliated, removed makeup, applied blending cream to hands and feet. Woke up this morning, spray tan stuck to one of my arms, back of my calves and my stomach, nowhere else. Not sure why, but not happy about it... I'm planning to exfoliate this stuff off today, and try Versa at Tan n Tone to see if I have better results... I wouldn't say "don't" go here, but apparently you have to be wary. You can have lots of good results and then out of the blue you get little to no results from their Mystic. From previous reviews I'm noticing their equipment may be old or need to be replaced. I don't know- I'm just going to branch out from this place since it's the only place I'd tried thus far. read more

I have gone to Colorado Tan for over 20 years and it has a soothing atmosphere and is immaculate. All of the staff have been friendly and care about their customers. They seem happy to make sure you feel comfortable and get the tan or package you need. I have tried other tanning salons and have been disappointed in the results. Went in and got 2 different types of memberships as one is for me and one is for my daughter. The lady at the counter was extremely helpful and told us all about the difference in beds , packages and what would be the best for us. She made the whole process simple! Wonderful place! The staff is always friendly, never pressure you for any particular product. I bought some sessions a year ago and got a few free. Couldn't use them all last year, and what a surprise it was to find out that I didn't lose them a year later! Now that's great customer service! I love the people here. Although I visit only occasionally, they usually remember my name. There are a variety of beds and the prices are reasonable. Unlike most tanning businesses, there are no high pressure sales efforts and they do not bombard your email and phone with marketing junk. Clean and friendly business and a relaxing experience. I really like Colorado Tan in Arvada. I usually just do spray tans but love when they have a good special going on, i.e. "Buy 3 Spray Tans, Get 2 Free". I don't usually have to wait but if I do, it's only a few minutes. Staff is friendly!!! read more

As a last minute idea, I wanted to go enjoy some light therapy. I wasn't in my normal part of town, but remembered this salon. I walked in, the lady at the front desk was nice. I purchased a single tan. I am a seasoned tanner, and have worked at a salon in the past. I was very disappointed when the facial bulb(s) were out. I did let them know of the problem. She stated she would let someone know. As a walk-in customer, it would have been nice to have been offered another tan, another day, maybe at a discount since the first bed wasn't running at 100%. read more

I have a membership for two years, and I have been told twice now that I can tan because I have tan three day in a row. I think I should be able to tan when I want since I have to pay ever month for 30 days. When my membership is up I will not renew my membership. Plus the equipment in old. read more

For someone who has lived in multiple states , I've been coming to this salon off and on since 2009. Living in NY and LA , I have had my decent share of tanning experiences in places, but this place feels like home. Since the new ownership since July 2016, they have become more of a family. They are friendly, accommodating, and not just a tanning business. The owners bend over backwards and try to make the tanning experience more than a tanning experience. Working as a server, I work in customer service as well & seeing the previous reviews says that those individuals may have been having a bad day and took it out on the business. I hope that they will return because this place is better than all the places I've tanned. I will say that this place is cleanclean and well taken care of spot. The owners work endlessly to keep everything gold standard. If you are looking for a good place to tan, reasonable, and friendly staff, this is the place to come. I will come here as long as possible because it's more than just tanning. It's a business that takes care of their people and goes above and beyond. They treat you like family, and any business that does that will receive my business and my referrals . read more

So I went to Colorado Tan on W. 64th and Ward and explained to them that I would be going on vacation in Mexico in two weeks and wanted to get a nice foundation so I didn't burn on vacation. The sales person was very nice and steered me to purchase a special package deal that brought the per visit to just $5.00 per session before taxes. I went for about 1.5 weeks and was constantly burnt. The young gentleman suggested that I try a tanning bed that had different UV rays (A vs B rays) which should work better for my skin. I tried the other bed (which was more money then the one I purchased) and it worked well. I actually tanned a bit instead of frying - novel concept! So I asked the young man how many sessions I had left and he said I had 11 more sessions. I said that means I have $55.00 in credit then correct and he said yes, that is correct. I said since the upgrade is $6.00 more per session ($11.00 per session) then it looks like I can go 5 sessions with the non-burning tanning bed for the same total investment I made. He said yes but I need to run this by the owner Mary first. He proceeded to call Mary and she told him over the phone and he relayed her message back to me that she couldn't do that. She was willing to charge me only 50% more than the $6.00 upgrade for today only and if I wanted to come back in and talk to her in person, we could discuss this more. I explained what is there to discuss other than I just want my $110.00 investment worth and a foundation tan so I don't burn on vacation in Mexico. This was the objective from the beginning and I went by the advice of Mary's company representative. I then offered for them to honor just 3 sessions on the non-burning bed (instead of the 5 which would be break even for both of us) and that they would be financially ahead of the game. Mary still refused my offer. Mary does not understand customer service and I should have looked at her Yelp reviews before coming in. This reminds me of a classic "bait and switch" technique to up-sell a non-burning bed. Mary, teach your associates to just sell a customer what they need. I would have been happy to buy less sessions that tanned me instead of frying me. Now I lose out on my remaining tans, I wasted my money and I get to go to Mexico without a foundation tan. Shame on you Mary and Caveat emptor! read more

I've been coming to this tanning salon for years. I'm now considering leaving to switch to a better more reliable place like At the Beach or Tan n Tone. I come in to use the bed I pay almost 50$ a month to use and I'm told I have to either wait for the person who they just sent into the bed to get out or I have to go into a lower bed which is way cheaper then the membership I pay for. It's ridiculous they can't allow someone who's gone there for over two years now to upgrade to the next bed for free instead they want to send me into one of their lowest level beds available. I drive out of my way to come here and usually end up getting screwed over because of something like this or just because they've decided to close early that day despite the posted times. There are two orbit beds available but usually only one actually running because the owner refuses to fix the equipment here properly, which was also the case today since they only have one bed running! The location off of 80th and wadsworth is way more reliable and 10x cleaner. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the employees who work here are always nice, but I don't think that makes it worth me waisting my money on this business every month anymore. read more
