I usually love this place but the last two times have been disappointing. The first disappointing appt was with a tech who just was not great and the amount of time it took her to do the sugaring made it so painful... she went over the same areas multiple times and the pulls were painful every time. The second disappointing appt the tech didn't show up at all and didn't communicate that she wasn't coming. I waited 10 minutes past my appointment time for the tech and someone with an appt before mine was also sitting in the lot waiting for who knows how long?? Unfortunately, I ended up leaving and booking a last minute appointment with Waxing in the City. Edit: the owner's response feels like I'm being gaslit because their tech rescheduled then failed to communicate that they would not be showing up or would be late to the already rescheduled appointment. I also was not offered anything besides another reschedule so I'm a bit confused about this addition to the narrative. Honestly, I would've come back but her response is very off putting. read more

1. On walking in, Bee and maybe the owner are chatting and completely ignore me for a while. Drives me crazy - this is #1 rule of front desk - always acknowledge person walking in! 2. Place is simply dirty and a mess. Patches on walls dirty everywhere. Barrier lotion dirty floors dirty. 3. Bee didn't review what I had signed up for, never asked what shade I wanted, I had to ask her for instructions. Didn't help with barrier lotion, was my first time so my feet look like I have splotches everywhere. 4. During spray Bee says "I tried to warm it up" as she sprays frigid cold air on me. Clearly you didn't warn me or if there is actually a way to warm it it was absolutely insufficient. 5. Post care instructions - none. Had to ask. Why wouldn't they have a printed handout to take home? Or at least offer up instructions before I leave. 6. The Tan: overall it was ok. A little orange and splotchy on feet. Thank goodness I TOLD her keep it light, I'd be scared to see the color darker. Will NOT be returning. This place has a lot of room for improvement from a business perspective, customer service, and quality of service. read more

I've been to my gold sugar twice now and have gotten bikini waxes from both Bee and Leah. I've had bad experiences with bruising and a lot of pain at other places, but these ladies are PROS. Minimal pain and no bruising here. They both made me feel so comfortable and at ease the whole time!! I will say Bee is faster than Leah which is nice, but I had a great experience with both and would go to either of them again. read more

I don't write bad reviews. Period. I appreciate people working with people and I know it's not easy. But my last experience with this place was over the top. I've been with this place for the last 4 years! And I loved it so much! But since the new owners/ stuff came in I've been so disappointed in the customer service..... and it's so sad. I've been making 30 min drive to come to this place every time. And the last time was the last drop. I was 3 min late ( not 5 min as i was told) and even if I have 15 min slot, and my procedure usually takes 7-10 min max! They refused to take me. So disappointed! Bee has been showing not the best customer service to begin with. But since she was the only one who can do her job well in this place I had to suck it up and continue coming..... but yelling at your customers! It's too much ! Even if they are late ! Customer must always comes 1st! She didn't offer me any other options! Reschedule, etc. and I have never been told about 5 min late policy.... before. It's so sad that they don't value their customers, especially those long time customers! Thanks for your service! I'll be looking for other place now. Tracy is such a gem of a discovery! I feel like I lucked out by trying My Gold Sugar. I ended up randomly booking my appointment with a talented esthetician who has an eye for her craft. She's patient in the process of getting every last hair and checking from multiple angles until we're both satisfied with the results. My skin has blossomed under Tracy's care and the ingrown hairs and folliculitis I was getting consistently from other hair removal methods have all cleared up. I actually had a really good experience with sugar waxing at My Gold Sugar. That was not the problem. This place is great for that service. The problem is the staff. I had an appointment for 8am one Saturday, but my calendar said 9:30am. I showed up at 9:30am to the biggest guilt trip I have ever experienced (and I grew up Catholic). This woman acted like I had been late on purpose and acted so put out that I never went back. And I never will. Rachelle was so fun to work with. Found this spot on Yelp of course =) Called to schedule an appointment and was able to get in the same day for a spray tan. The process here was super simple, and I love their setup. Super clean! I loved their decor, and like that they had hair ties available bc you know...us girls tend to forget these little details. The color she chose came out really natural and golden. I took advantage of a special they offered on Yelp $19 for a $40 value that pretty much covered my services. Rachelle was super efficient. First place that actually took a kabuki brush and blended me out in between my crevices. That's legit!! I was in and out in about 20 mins and love that it's not too far from my office in Lakewood. I recently moved back from Germany, where sugaring is the standard as opposed to waxing (or at least it was where I lived). It barely hurts at all, is much quicker, and is easier on your skin. It was my first spray tan and I had NO idea what this meant! I was scared to death when she said strip down and bare it all. I mean like, I'm 50 years old and anytime anything come off this body, it's in the dark or with a salt lamp lighting! Taryn was the most amazing person ever! She told me a few stories about "how she has seen it all" from both sexes and that there was nothing that could shock her! The ....lack of grooming.... and middle age (decent) body that I was soon to expose couldn't be any worse than anything else, right? The WORST interaction I've ever had. First, if someone is new, you should let me know that when I book the appointment. And just because someone is new, doesn't mean they shouldn't know how to do their job. If you don't know what you're doing, you should be shadowed. So my leg wax didn't work well.... no problem. I called back and asked to have it corrected. Leah was so rude to me and made me feel so uncomfortable. She blamed me- saying it's because I must have shaved during quarantine at some point (what?), because I should be getting laser and I'd be happier, because hair grows in stages, and that I shouldn't have expected more from her because she's new. It's uncomfortable enough as it is to speak up and come back to a place, and I did it in the most cordial way I could. But how she treated me today was completed rude, uncomfortable, and unprofessional. Don't waste your time or money here if Leahs working. read more
