I'd already assumed he was busy and content while there because even though he had his phone with him, I hardly heard from him in that time. His session was a good variety of about 17 kids, pretty evenly split between boys and girls, from all around the US. I believe they learned a lot from nice instructors/guides and had fun, too. From a parent point of view, I thought the communication from Crow Canyon was terrific- not incessant but informative, clear, and timely. We were hopeful that it would be a good experience for our son, and neither of us was disappointed in the least- we are so glad he went!

I will never stay at a Hampton Inn again, or any other place that doesn't have a normal hinged door in a door frame - ridiculous that this has to be a consideration for family hotels now.

Our room on the second floor experienced a lot of noise from the upper floor. Could just be that particular guest, but if we stay here again I'd request a top floor room. Our room was clean and felt quite large. The bed is against the bathroom wall, facing the window. I really like this room configuration. The bed is comfortable with a variety of pillows. Desk, fridge, luggage rack are all there. Bathroom has multi-use products on the walls and there are plenty of hooks in there! Towels enough for three. There is a fan in the ceiling, but no switch to turn it on. Plenty of hot water and good pressure. Barn style door rolls between the closet and bathroom. Breakfast was OK. The coffee isn't good. This location does not have a breakfast fridge so some of the items (yogurt, cream cheese) were not available. Oatmeal, eggs, sausage gravy and biscuit, meat along with cold cereals, toaster items and waffles. Staff were friendly. Big hotel shop. Water bottle filling station. Guest laundry.

We booked here due to the low price and was hesitant after seeing reviews…read more I don't know if they just took all the reviews to heart and made changes, but our room and experience was fine and didn't have all the issues we were reading about. First - the lobby was clean and rather cute. Someone was at the front desk and they were very friendly. The hallways smelled clean and we didn't notice any unusual wear and tear. Our door locked securely. Room had no noticeable odor and was clean with no visible damage. Bathroom had visibly been cleaned and had a slight scent of bleach. Shower was hot and had a working shower head. We didn't use the tub. Mini fridge, microwave, tv and AC unit were all in working order. Bed was comfortable. There was a breakfast available. It was cereal, waffles, toast and jam, coffee, tea. Only drawbacks: pillows were "flimsy". I was fine but my husband had trouble sleeping with them. There was a small desk but with no chair. Only one bath towel in the bathroom. We didn't ask the front desk for another, I'm sure it would have been provided. All said, for the price, perfectly acceptable room in a good location.

Breakfast brought no redemption. Waffles, white bread, and corn flakes were the options. A tub of margarine sat out on the counter. With waffles being the only decent option, the problem is a single waffle maker that takes 2:30 each in attempt to feed a hotel of people. I watched a number of people come in, look around in obvious frustration and walk out. At least have a yogurt or a banana people can grab! And then there was the cost. This underwhelming flophouse was twice the price of a different Super 8 I stayed at recently that was clean, outdated but well cared for (and had a reasonable breakfast!) Why 2 stars and not 1? The sheets actually seemed clean and the one employee we met was very kind and quick to respond when asked.
