I was ready to give up on Colton's, here in Searcy. The last half dozen or so times that we've been there last, there was always something. Tremendously bad service, overcooked food, waiting for food forever, just always something. I am glad that we did give it one more shot. We had an amazing server, Free, and he catered to our every need and request. Drinks stayed full, not a severely long wait on the food (especially considering how busy they were), and the food all came out perfect and correct, which blew me away because he didn't write anything down and there was six of us. I don't like to give negative reviews on restaurants because it's such a hard business to thrive in but sometimes glaring mistakes are too hard to gloss over. In general, since covid has increased the curbside pickup scene, I have steadily noticed that the portion sizes and quality of the pickup orders are less than what you get if you actually ate in the restaurant. Mexican restaurants are the worse offenders of this, in my opinion. The Searcy Colton's is usually a pretty good choice for dine in or take out, but this time, they fell flat. I ordered the 6 ounce sirloin, medium rare, steamed broccoli and baked potato. The broccoli and potato were fine. Hard to mess those up. The steak, though, while cooked properly, was tough and stringy. But what really chapped my hide was the flat, hard roll that was put in the to-go box. I know if you dine in the rolls will keep being served if you want. When ordering for pickup, though, you get all your going to get. I feel those should be the best quality rolls. Three of the rolls were fine but fourth was pathetic! See the picture for comparison. The pathetic roll was hard, undercooked and flat. The most aggravating thing is that someone actually handled that roll, knew what they had and purposely put it in the box. It's been a while since I have been to Colton's in Searcy. But this new building (new to me) and bar looked great. I ordered the a side salad with spicy ranch and the ribeye del rio. The side salad with spicy ranch made my night! It's the fist time i have had spicy ranch that was actually spicy! I took my first bite and i was like bam there is a little heat there! The ribeye was slightly over cooked but not by much. The spicy butter they put on the steak after it came of the grill was really good. I even enjoyed my green beans! Mom would be so happy! We were just there a couple hours ago. I ordered the grilled shrimp and replaced my rice with Sautéed Mushrooms. The shrimp was to salty and had way too much lemon juice on it. I couldn't eat it. The sautéed mushrooms were spicy and I could only taste the onion they cooked with, there was no mushroom flavor at all. Also the menu never stated it was spicy. Wasted my my money on food that couldn't be eaten. We won't be back. The waitress was great. read more

Colton's steakhouse is to basic steak lovers as chipotle is to basic burrito lovers. As you can tell from the photos, presentation is not a priority for those at Colton's. The salmon cream cheese dip we ordered as an appetizer was frozen solid and thrown alongside some pita chips from the supermarket. The steak (ordered med. rare) was cooked medium well and lacked any kind of flavor. The one thing they did right at Colton's was the warm, buttery rolls that came with the food. I went here my first night in town, got the bacon filet topped with feta, it was ok, I'm pretty sure it came out of a prepack. I went again tonight, the corn on the cob was really good, the smoked sirloin was difficult to cut and tasted like liquid smoke. The "horseradish" sauce is mostly mayonnaise. I didn't finish the sirloin I ordered a cheesecake to go. My second bite I could feel a long coarse hair, I spit the food out of my mouth and separated it from the hair. Service was very good here but not sure if I would come back. Buckets of peanuts like Texas Roadhouse would have at each table. The side salad was crisp cold and fresh with a good assortment of toppings. The house spicy ranch-ish dressing was good with just a touch of a spice noted kick. The dinner rolls were very good and was pleasantly surprised that they served honey for a roll topping. Love honey so was a nice treat. The fried okra is fried okra but was very good and my favorite next to the honey and rolls. As for the 12 oz sirloin, Texas Roadhouse has a far superior steak that's this was. About half was not eaten due to course gristle embedded in this cut. Not much flavor in the cut either added my own salt and pepper to bring the meat to life. The steak sauce had to try. Odd combination of A1 and Worcestershire sauce blend. Odd finish on the tongue and the ketchup was French's. Frenchs never a fan to sweet All in all an average meal. I have eaten here before and did okay. But, this time it was unsafe. I asked for and received the GF menu. I requested the Caesar salad as a side without croutons, which is on their GF menu. It came to the table and after two bites I found a soggy crouton in the salad. I think they premix the salad with croutons and pick them out. I told the waitress and she apologized and offered to make another salad for me, which I refused. Now I'm already sick and regretting eating here. read more

Sunday - Mother's Day - we knew it would be packed - it was and you cannot make reservations! We were the group of 27 who patiently waited along with many others for an hour and a half! Just a heads up to the wait staff - at the end of the meal when you are retrieving the plates IF there are five or six plates on the table that have only one bite out of the steak there is a problem!!!! Wow what a surprise. We were just in town for a day and decided to give Colton's a shot. We had the New York Steak and the Bourbon glazed salmon. Not only was the food amazing but our server was an absolute joy. She was attentive and had a contagious smile. When we return we will definitely be back. Really had a nice dinner here. Facility looks new, or remodeled recently. I was seated right away. The bucket of peanuts were tasty. I had the 9 oz Sirloin, loaded baked potato, and salad. The steak was a nice size, properly cooked, and was flavorful. For an additional $1 I got the loaded baked potato It was good, not outstanding, but good. The salad was fresh, the Ranch dressing was pretty thin. Fresh hot rolls with honey were outstanding. My server was Nikki, she was prompt, friendly, and helpful. Overall I was pleased. It was a nice "middle of the road Steakhouse. By that, it wasn't a high priced five star steakhouse, but it was a lot better than Western Sizzlon or Golden Corral. read more

The servers were all very friendly and the atmosphere was pretty swanky. I liked the peanuts on the table, it was a nice little touch. But, the best thing was the Applewood smoked bacon on my chicken sandwich. Usually when you order bacon you get like 1-2 scrawny, overcooked little pieces but this bacon was thick and had a great smoked flavor.
