If you are coming in quickly to pick something up, or if you come to sit and relax and work for a while, the environment is super calming and spacious. There are tables as well as comfy chairs and couches, making it welcome for everyone. The staff here is very helpful and have answers to any questions. There are always available spaces in the parking lot or nearby on the side streets. The Kingshighway location is super convenient to get to, and it's just a short walk away from Tower Grove Park, making for the perfect excuse to grab a new book and go sit outside for a while. The most recent time I came in, they had a featured section right in front of books for Women's History Month, which I love. They also have a rotating selection of "staff picks" as well as new releases and novels. I find myself wanting to branch out with something new every time I go in. The inventory is online and is updated often. There's an option to put items on hold and pick them up at your preferred location, making for a fast and easy in-and-out if you don't have time to walk around the library. This location is super close to my house and while I don't visit too often, I do visit enough to know that it is a great spot. There are books galore as well as so many other items for the public including seeds for planting, activities to complete and groups to join. While I listen to audiobooks mostly through hoopla or libby, they do also have some audiobooks on cd that are available when the ones online are not available so this is a win for me when I want to listen to a book and not have to wait. The librarians are so nice and super helpful and keep the space well organized and maintained.

My kids adore them. They are an invaluable resource during the school year. We are once again anticipating a great summer program with them.

Staff is available if you need help but if you like to do things on your own, you can totally do that. I check out the new releases, the semi new releases and the head upstairs to check out the magazines and cookbooks. Back downstairs to self checkout and I am on my way with my bag of fun reads!

The second floor, accessible by steps or stairs has a computer lab and copiers available; like having a private office. It's more than books!…read more The Fairview Heights library offers you to borrow books, Ebooks, music, movies and even video games! Depending on the popularity there maybe a waiting list. They also offer access to computers. Eight computers you can reserve and one express computer. The reserved ones can be used hours at a time while the express allows 30 minutes of access. A variety of classes for kids and adults all year round. I figured the money I spend on books I'm only going to read once is kinda a waste in my end. When I can borrow a book, read it and take it back. Now you do need to stay in the area to get a library card at this location. So proof of residency is required. The librarians are extremely helpful when it comes to locating certain items and they all always full of information. Like... How do you know all this?!? I especially like Ebooks. This way I can download them from my computer to my smartphone or tablet. No need to go to the library physically with the Ebooks; everything is done online! At the end of the day.... Of course I will be back, I have to return a book!
