We stayed in a double queen #214 and it was very nice. If you don't want to trek your suitcases up a couple flights of stairs stay on the lower level. The room was very clean and close to the dam for nice walking. Enjoy this gem!! read more

We have stayed here twice now and I have nothing of good things to say. The property has a beautiful pool, gym, sauna and laundry room, all clean and welcoming. The front desk and management went above and beyond to assure we had all our creature comforts met. The stay was reasonably priced per night. We will happily stay there again. read more

A nice little motel with balconies. We will be able to watch (but not hear) the dam's laser light show and watch the fireworks from the comfort of our room. The clerk at check in was friendly and gave us recommendations on places to eat, even lent is extension cord so we could play on our computers on the balcony. The room is nicely appointed, not ritzy, but scrupulously clean and comfortable. I would recommend this motel highly when you come to visit historic Grand Coulee Dam. read more

The real only 5 stars this place gets is the location because of the proximity to the Dam. Lets face it, it's right in front of you. As far as the accommodations and rating of the hotel. Lets say its been better. I have stayed here several times over the last 20 years. Watched it change ownership etc. The hotel itself: standard rooms are VERY small and tight. Any more than 2 people in the standard room is toooo much. Very out dated but good enough if your not spending much time in the room other than to lay your head to rest. They offer a small continental breakfast. If you're one of the first few to get ahold of the outside vendor muffin or snack. During my last visit it went like this. Saturday morning said they open at 7am. Actually did open until 7:50 and no muffins or anything, just some mediocre black coffee with the typical creamer and sugars. The next morning (Sunday today) opened on time I guess because I went down at 7:20 entered and saw nothing again. Asked if they were getting a continental breakfast today and she said it's already gone. Oh well, ignore the promise of a continental breakfast they mention when you check in. Pool is pleasant, hot tub was available, laundry and ice available next to office. They do have a two bedroom unit above the office. It is roomy and full kitchen, dining area for 6 and very roomy. Televisions are sketchy at pest. Small and the signals must be weak as it's constantly froze and was pixililated half the time. I would give 5 stars if it was deserving, however it is not for me. Excellent location - directly across from the Grand Coulee Dam. Could see the dam from the little balcony/porch (2nd floor). Room was clean and comfortable. Was able to walk across the street to the park for the evening Laser Show. Staff was very nice and eager to help (giving dining recommendations and driving directions). There was coffee and muffins available in the lobby in the morning. Was able to get a room without a reservation but would recommend making one as we literally took the last room on a weeknight. Would definitly reommend. read more

My husband and I spent two nights at the Columbia River Inn and the staff were wonderful. Everyone was very kind. Unfortunately the rooms are not the best. I had two of the worst nights of sleep on the bed. I think the worst might be the shower, my husband went to shower first and told me the water went cold on him but eventually warmed up again slightly. When it was my turn the water went cold on me too so I turned the shower off so I wouldn't be hit with the cold water. I let it run hoping it would warm up but it never did. I had to resume my shower with freezing cold water to get the soap off. We did not get a chance to check out the hot tub but it was available. The Inn is very affordable and dog friendly which was nice. The park is directly across the street so we were able to take our dog there for potty breaks. At check in we were also given a treat for the pup and a sheet to put down for him. I thought that was great. I also appreciated the muffins available in the mornings. We like a comfy bed and hot showers so we unfortunately wont be back. read more

There aren't many options for hotels in the area and this one is definitely better than the Coulee House. However I don't think I will stay there again. I was on the second floor and the balcony door does not lock. I know this is not a high crime area but it still makes me incredibly nervous knowing someone could climb up and walk into my room while I am sleeping. I wedged one of the chairs underneath the knob so I could sleep confidently. The room was not very clean. There was some kind of black stuff (ashes?)on the Kleenex box, there was a dirty towel behind the bed, a big spider on the curtain, and the carpet near the jacuzzi tub was SOAKED. I do like the wood themed decor and they have a fridge and microwave which is convenient. read more

This motel is a very nice independent property. It sits on a side street right off main street; therefore, not much road noise, It is right next to the dam and confidently located. The property does not have any green space since the rooms face the parking lot and street but it does have an old time motel feel to it. The building has been designed so that all rooms have a porch or balcony that faces toward the river in the direction of the dam so the property has a lot more character than if the build was one big rectangle. You park right outside your room, which is very nice. The grounds and buildings are in good condition. The lobby is very small with no breakfast area There are no luggage carts available to move luggage. The sleeping room size is slightly smaller than typical and is nicely appointed. There is a coffee maker, fridge and microwave in the room. The beds are comfortable. The room has a nice central electrical outlets/USB-A hub on the central nightstand so can charge your electrical devices. Breakfast was coffee with muffins supplied by a local coffee shop as a marketing ploy setup on a table in the lobby. The front desk is friendly and helpful. The front desk provides an info sheet with a link to a local website with info on local restaurants for breakfast. We would stay here again if in the area. read more

Quaint is the perfect word for this inn. It's like some kind of beautifully maintained relic of a simpler America, with little bits of modernization (like wifi, and a little fitness room) artfully tucked in. The Dam, which you can see from the parking lot, is the attraction that draws the people and warrants the existence of the inn. For that reason, I hope folks keep taking tours and celebrating road trips and attractions. If they don't, gems like this one will vanish, read more

Stopped here for the night on our cross country road trip before touring the Coulee Dam the next day. What a great experience! The staff is amazingly nice, the rooms are huge and comfy, the bathrooms are clean, the area is quiet, there's a fridge and microwave in the room, and the views of the Dam from the balcony was pretty cool. There is an excellent fitness center, laundry room, and ample free parking. There aren't many options for places to stay right at the Dam but there don't need to be, this place is the BEST. read more

My husband and I stayed here for a week last summer for the first time and loved it so much we decided to stay here again for a week this summer. It did not disappoint. Though we would have rathered the Annex room across the street from the main rooms (since it's a bit bigger and comes with a kitchen, sadly this place was already booked up) we still really enjoyed our stay on the balcony. The staff is so nice and welcoming. There is a cleaning lady, she has a long braided pony tail, I think she is indian? We got to know her a bit during our stay. She was so nice and brought us a bag of tomatoes from her garden. They were delicious! We feel bad we didn't get her name but please make sure to show her our appreciation and thanks! The place is also so close to the Dam, we love walking there. We will definitely be staying here again read more

I stayed here for the first time for 3 nights recently. The front desk had excellent customer service - polite, professional and helpful. One night I found a really friendly cat hanging out outside the front door and demanding petting. (As a cat person, I loved this). I even indulged in the sauna which was lovely. For me, the location was perfect. It's easy to view the Grand Coulee dam and easily accessible to the other places I was visiting. I also liked how easy it was to get to Safeway, the restaurants, and gas stations in the area. The room itself was comfortable and clean. It's nothing spectacular but everything was working just as I needed it to: bathroom, microwave, fridge, tv, wifi. No noise from other guests. Housekeeping was prompt every day. Easy parking right in front of my room door too! I have no complaints and would happily stay here again. read more

Took my lover boy to Grand Coulee for his birthday weekend (I know, I know...but we LOVE retro stuff like this! It's a great little spot to stay, directly across the street from the Dam with super friendly staff. The motel itself is the best place in town. Stay away from the other places. Warning: the ONLY reason to come to Grand Coulee is to see the dam, and maybe to dally in the nearby lakes.. there is really nothing else to see/do there. The town is quite shabby, but the environment (cliffs, rock walls, rolling mountain roads) are gorgeous. You'll think you're in another state, if not another country! Adjust your expectations about entertainment or good food and you'll be fine. We played pool at a dive bar, rented rowboats at Coulee Playland down the road, and ate terrible horrible food at The Siam Palace. But boy did we have fun! :) read more

This hotel gets no stars, but yelp made me choose a star. There's a rep named Jeannie that will deduct more money than you discussed with her and if they refund you what she wasn't supposed to take from your account, it's been more than 8 days which was more than $1000. This has happened to 2 different people on 2 different bank accounts and 2 different days. If you stay here, work with Francy which is super nice, extremely professional, and doesn't take more from your account than the agreement! Pissed read more

Super clean, friendly staff, amazing location - as far as the comment on the blind being mesh - you are right - I guess you missed the curtain though that you can draw across the blinds ;) I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The service at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Our chief complaint was the room itself. We had the Jacuzzi room. It was tiny and definitely not well suited to larger than average patrons. Just trying to get in to the bathroom meant an uncomfortable squeeze between the toilet, tub and the door just to get the door to close. The place is older and could definitely use some upgrades. The picture and sound of the in-room TV was poor, but watchable. Cell-phone reception was poor, but that's not the fault of the Motel, just the location but it may be a consideration for some. If a loud siren jolts you from your sleep while there, it's not the dam breaking. It's just the incredibly loud siren calling all of the volunteer fire fighters to the station. Service was incredibly poor. Rooms are absolutely small, restrooms are even worse. To close the bathroom door you literally have to stand in the bathtub, close the door, then use the restroom. A/C is subpar and the TV's have nothing but static. Would rather pitch a tent than go here again. read more

I wanted to take a weekend trip. I wanted to go camping, my husband did not. I wanted to enjoy the hottest weekend so far, my husband wanted AC. So we booked a room here fairly last minute. Rates were great. Its the nicest looking hotel by the Grand Coulee Dam and the rooms were nice. We also found we had the nicest woman working there. We had to cut our trip short so we checked out a couple of hours after we checked in. I was upset that we just wasted money on something we didn't even use. A few hours later she calls us up and leaves a message saying that she was able to re-rent the room and since we didn't leave a mess she was refunding our money! I was so happy! This isn't something we asked for and she didn't have to do it, but she did and this place is amazing for that. Great customer service, something that is missing now of days. read more

Friendly staff, easy check-in. This is an old hotel with charm. Bead board wainscoting and wallpaper cover original walls. Rooms have an electrical outlet with room to charge 5 devices. Wifi is spotty at best. Our room had two queens, a wardrobe, tv stand, and chair. The three of us were stumbling over each other in the crowded room. We had lots of hot water which was heavenly! The outside deck seats two people. The room was clean, beds were comfy, and it is quiet. It is across the street from the visitors center. It's no smoking and no pets!! We stayed here last weekend while boating on the local lakes. Not a fancy place. The floor creaks and the faucets squeak, but it's ok, it was clean, cozy and comfortable. Has TV, WiFi, sauna, hot tub and pool. Nice balcony views of the dam and surrounding bluffs. We would stay here again. There is room enough across the road for three trucks and boat trailers too. Quiet neighborhood with beautiful homes nearby. There is a gas station across the street if you need to buy any snacks. The rooms are dated, but that adds to the charm in my opinion. read more

The Inn is conveniently located nearby the GC Dam visitor center and an easy walk to the nightly laser show. The rooms are clean and the free WIFI was fast and reliable. There were a few problems though. Each unit has a porch light at the front door/window without a way to turn it off. The window blinds are made of mesh material however, so bright light all night kept us from sleeping well. The fitness room, sauna, hot tub were closed for repair. The pillows are paper-thin and they apparently have no extras in the whole inn (I asked, but was turned away). All told, I felt the $100 price tag was too high. read more

The rooms have knotty pine walls, and it was nice to have a micro and fridge in the room, along with a small table and chairs. Everything looked nice and welcoming. We were ordered to evacuate the Coulee Dam area due to a local wildfire and the Manager worked with all of the customers in a very professional manner to ensure that everyone got out in a hurry, which was greatly appreciated! This is a wonderful place to stay at the end of a long driving day or just for a weekend get away. The plantings around the front of the hotel were mostly pansies, carrying a cinnamon aroma into the rooms. Each room has a small balcony with chairs and table offering a view of the Columbia River or Grand Coulee Dam. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms well furnished and comfortable. It is a short walk from the hotel to the Grand Coulee Dam Visitors Center. Definitely add this hotel to your list of places to stay. read more

I really enjoyed this place. As a business traveler I am used to being forced to stay at chain hotels that are all the same, with no character, no thought given to their location. With no chains nearby, I was lucky enough to be booked at the Columbia River Inn. It was early summer and the trees and flowers were in fragrant bloom. All upstairs rooms come with a balcony angled to have a view of the looming Grand Coulee Dam. The rooms are clean, wood paneled and charming. I felt like I was transported to a time when people cared and took pride in what they offered. I hope to be able to come again on a personal trip to enjoy the amenities even better. read more
