Looking thru the room to the balcony.
    Laurel H.

A nice little motel with balconies. We will be able to watch (but not hear) the dam's laser light show and watch the fireworks from the comfort of our room. The clerk at check in was friendly and gave us recommendations on places to eat, even lent is extension cord so we could play on our computers on the balcony. The room is nicely appointed, not ritzy, but scrupulously clean and comfortable. I would recommend this motel highly when you come to visit historic Grand Coulee Dam.

The real only 5 stars this place gets is the location because of the proximity to the Dam. Lets face it, it's right in front of you. As far as the accommodations and rating of the hotel. Lets say its been better. I have stayed here several times over the last 20 years. Watched it change ownership etc. The hotel itself: standard rooms are VERY small and tight. Any more than 2 people in the standard room is toooo much. Very out dated but good enough if your not spending much time in the room other than to lay your head to rest. They offer a small continental breakfast. If you're one of the first few to get ahold of the outside vendor muffin or snack. During my last visit it went like this. Saturday morning said they open at 7am. Actually did open until 7:50 and no muffins or anything, just some mediocre black coffee with the typical creamer and sugars. The next morning (Sunday today) opened on time I guess because I went down at 7:20 entered and saw nothing again. Asked if they were getting a continental breakfast today and she said it's already gone. Oh well, ignore the promise of a continental breakfast they mention when you check in. Pool is pleasant, hot tub was available, laundry and ice available next to office. They do have a two bedroom unit above the office. It is roomy and full kitchen, dining area for 6 and very roomy. Televisions are sketchy at pest. Small and the signals must be weak as it's constantly froze and was pixililated half the time. I would give 5 stars if it was deserving, however it is not for me. The staff still wears a mask as of June 12, 2022. Staff friendly? Let's just aaybtheybare there and nothing more

    Dirty towel behind bed

There aren't many options for hotels in the area and this one is definitely better than the Coulee House. However I don't think I will stay there again. I was on the second floor and the balcony door does not lock. I know this is not a high crime area but it still makes me incredibly nervous knowing someone could climb up and walk into my room while I am sleeping. I wedged one of the chairs underneath the knob so I could sleep confidently. The room was not very clean. There was some kind of black stuff (ashes?)on the Kleenex box, there was a dirty towel behind the bed, a big spider on the curtain, and the carpet near the jacuzzi tub was SOAKED. I do like the wood themed decor and they have a fridge and microwave which is convenient.

I have only the nicest things to say about the Best Western plus Pepper tree Inn. We have road…read moretripped all over this country many times, literally visiting 49 of the 50 states... so we have seen a lot of hotels and motels over the years. There are a few maker break components to a hotel stay: the bed, the bathroom, the TV, and the HVAC system. If one of these sucks, you're gonna have a bad time. I'm glad to share that the Pepper tree goes four out of four in the positive. Comfortable beds, functional heat, and air-conditioning, and each in their own time and place... Functioning, television, and a clean and functional bathroom. On top of that, our room over the last several years of visiting, always features a mini fridge, a microwave, a large closet, boutique style shampoo/conditioner/body wash, hot water, and cold water in the correct location on the dial, and a very clean room. The complementary morning breakfast is outstanding; the gentleman that has managed the kitchen for the last two years, runs a tight ship, and always seems to be training a new staff member with an eye for customer service, cleanliness, and a very positive experience for visitors. Seriously, this is not the el cheapo continental breakfast with pre-bagged, pastries, and small boxes of Captain crunch. My youngest son particularly likes the pancake machine. The hotel has a pool and a hot tub, but honestly, we'd have never used them. The front desk staff is friendly and attentive, and the cleaning staff does a nice job of tidying up your room without that weird feeling of being invasive. We generally visit Omak annually for a boys' fishing trip, and this hotel is the best game in town. As an added bonus, it's literally one minute from the best outdoor outfitter, sporting goods store in town... But that's a different review. We cannot wait to visit again.

I stayed here for an extended stay of about a month. While several front-line staff members were…read moreexcellent, my overall experience was defined by management interactions that ultimately made me feel unwelcome. First, I want to recognize staff who genuinely provided good hospitality: * David and Ben were excellent and helped move my belongings efficiently when I needed to change rooms. * Michael in the dining area consistently made me feel welcome and taken care of. * Alan at the front desk was kind, efficient, and allowed me to view multiple rooms before finalizing a move. * Jennifer at the front desk was warm and thoughtful from check-in onward, personally delivering items to my room and following up to ensure I was comfortable. * The evening front desk associate was also friendly and helpful. These individuals did their jobs well. Unfortunately, my interactions with the manager, Erika, are what led to this one-star rating. When I transferred rooms due to excessive highway noise, I was explicitly offered the option to place my larger items in storage. I did not have time to move everything that day. When I later called to follow through on what had been offered, the response from Erika was unexpectedly negative. Rather than simply explaining a change in policy or availability, the tone felt dismissive and transactional, and prior accommodations were repeatedly framed as things the hotel "didn't have to do." That reversal -- being offered a solution and then spoken to harshly for trying to use it -- made me feel uncomfortable and like I was asking for too much by requesting something I had already been told was available. This pattern carried over into other interactions (such as towel availability), and over time it created the sense that my presence was an inconvenience. Additional issues during the stay: * I had to change rooms due to excessive highway noise. * One of the two elevators was out of service, which is a major issue when staying on the fourth floor for an extended period. * The mini refrigerators (both the in-room unit and an additional one later provided) intermittently made loud mechanical noises. * Communication around towel availability was inconsistent, including being required to exchange used towels just to receive clean ones. * The pool shower delivered cold water when set to hot, and the pool water had a strong bleach smell. * No visible recycling or composting options. One small positive: despite the elevator issue, the stairwells are carpeted and heated, which made using them more tolerable. While I truly appreciate several staff members, the way I was spoken to by management -- particularly after being offered accommodations and then criticized for requesting them -- made this an uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience. Because of that, I do not plan to return to this property, and I would choose a different hotel in the future.
