If you've ever even considered renting a houseboat on Lake Roosevelt please doooooo it! We spent 4 nights on one of the Galaxy Class boats, party of 9 (6 adults and 3 kids). We've been seeing these houseboats since our early days of camping at Keller Ferry in the late 90s into the 2000s. The reservation process was easy and they prefer to talk on the phone (real people!) rather than emailing back and forth, which I appreciated. The staff were gracious and helpful during the arrival how-to walk-thru. They had a slew of young people on hand to help us load our supplies onto the boat upon arrival and then again when we were leaving to help get everything off. They do say this on their website and it's important to know that the boat has minimum supplies. Guests need to bring EVERYTHING special you think you might want to use. The kitchen is manageable but we definitely packed extras. We had an amazing time using the upper deck slide, hot tub, and outdoor kitchen. Lake Roosevelt is just how we remembered it and we can't wait to plan another houseboat trip! read more

I had dreamt of a houseboat vacation since I was a child. Our long weekend on Lake Roosevelt, with nine adults and a toddler, did not disappoint. The boat was beautifully appointed, from the fully stocked and full-size kitchen to the comfy living room to the hot tub on top. Everything worked perfectly. I would just give a heads up that, at least on our boat, the cozy staterooms were really bunk rooms with almost no floor space, so pack accordingly! Finally, but importantly, the staff was very accommodating and friendly and made sure that all of our concerns were addressed. What a wonderful, unique family vacation! The houseboat we rented, at a premium price, from Lake Roosevelt Adventures was not as advertised. The inboard generator was not working and the generator supplied barely kept the boat batteries charged and would not run the AC or other items when charging the batteries. In 90° weather this was not ideal. We returned the boat a day earlier than anticipated because it wasn't comfortable to be on, as there was nowhere to get out of the heat. We were calm when we returned the boat and voiced concern with this situation. We were told that the manager would reach out to us. Nobody has reached out. Communication in regards to this situation has been poor, before and afterwards. I wouldn't recommend this company. Not trustworthy. read more

We had rented the Hercules houseboat and was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the houseboat. It was very dirty, and spiders were everywhere. When we went to put on our fitted sheets we found a pair of underwear in the corner. Very disgusting. Generator was hard to start, the AC stopped working, the power went out and the fridge stopped working. We called and they did come out to fix it, but it was still very upsetting. With the amount of money, we paid to rent this boat, I would expect for them to do better Maintenace and a better job on the cleanliness of the boat. I was looking forward to a great experience but what we received was below the standard and very poor. read more

Our group of 8 was 30min from arriving for our 3 nights when we got a call that they were cancelling our reservation. Our boat came in from the the past trip with a "melted electrical panel" -- to be fair there wasn't much they could do, but it's a sign that they have some significant maintenance issues and an older fleet of boats. Also, the boats get flipped over so quickly there is no margin for error. Have heard from others that boats break down multiple times per trip. It's not a cheap vacation option and you expect a boat company to have working boats. read more

I would not recommend this houseboat rental. The personnel were always friendly, but there's more to consider when you spend $1,000 per night. The AC didn't work and we were in 90-104° temperatures. The TV/Blu-ray player didn't work. Every window had huge spiders and webs, so you couldn't open the windows. Gas gage didn't work. The overall appearance of the inside of the houseboat was old and very outdated. You need to bring your own dishes and pots and pans as ones provided are small and not enough for a group of 8. The houseboat we had was the Luna Four. All in all, we had a miserable time. I read reviews about this place, but we rented anyway. Not again, ever!! read more

I have rented a houseboat about 8 times over the last 20 years. This by far was the best trip. The boat was in perfect condition. Great sound system, satellite TV, A/C, hot tub, dishwasher, etc. A few days after our return, the manager called to ask about our trip. Wow! That was nice. Then I made a suggestion. The manager listened carefully, discussed it and let me know it would be brought up at the next meeting. I know they will. From booking the trip, to check-in, to the return, the staff was the best. Lake Roosevelt Adventures provided us with the perfect family vacation! They are organized, efficient, hard-working and friendly. We arrived right at our check-in time of 3PM and found a crew standing by ready to unload our track and bring everything onto our Explore class houseboat the Endeavor. The boat seemed small next to the mansions also on the pier but we found it perfect for our family of four with a very happy canine. After a brief but thorough walk through of the boat we were off on our 4 night adventure. We started south for the first two nights then headed back up north for nights 3 and 4. Each spot we found was completely unique and offered it's own charm and beauty. We had so much privacy even though it was Fourth of July week. My only complaint is that the cutting board provided was a bit too small considering how HUGE the fish are in that lake! I caught the Kokanee Salmon I had been dreaming about. Wow. Just simply the most amazing trip for my friends and I. A few years ago I went on a house boat through this company with my boyfriends family and it went wonderful, they had done it before, bunch of middle age adults, of course it went great. Fast forward 5 years my boyfriend and I decide to put together our core group of friends and do another house boating trip. Planning this was stressful but only on MY end NOT Lake Roosevelt Adventures. They were more than helpful with all of my questions and navigating me in the most helpful way. When we got there everything went so smooth. They were set up perfectly for COVID-19 protection, the staff were super friendly and the cool head boss guy (can't believe I forgot his name) was very thorough with the walk through/run over of the boat with the captain and first mate. Being on the Nova boat was awesome, it had everything we needed and more! My boyfriend proposed to me on this trip on top of the boat with one of the most beautiful sunsets in the back surrounded by all our close friends and it just topped everything of perfectly! I could go on and on but one just needs to experience how amazing this kind of vacation is and you'll have NO regrets booking it through this company. Their website has everything you need to know. My family just returned from our vacation on the small houseboat (Explorer Class) that Dakota Columbia rents. It was wonderful and amazing. It is our first ever houseboating experience and they have wonderful boats and fantastic staff. Service was excellent, friendly and helpful. We wished we had booked another day. After our vacation ended, they let us tour one of the big houseboats with the huge livingrooms, multiple bedrooms, gigantic kitchen, wet bar and grill on upper deck next to a hot tub. We hope to rent one in the next couple of years. This was such a fun vacation even without all the bells and whistles. read more

On a positive note Lake Roosevelt is beautiful and the staff were kind and accommodating. It was the letter we recieved from the person in charge of refunding our security deposit. We were given $100 back of our $500 deposit and a nasty letter. The letter was full of assumptions lacking in creditability. We were charged $100 for damaging a refigerator shelf, $200 for bringing the boat back late and a $100 for acleaning fees. In the letter we were accused of using the rack for a barbaque on the stove, shelfishly bringing the boat back late and charged $100 emergency fee to come out and fix the sound system. In reality we had vacumed the floors, taken the sheets off the beds and had put away all the dishes. The refrigerator rack had to be removed to get the milk in the refrigerator. The stove was turned on and the shelf was accidently melted. We were only late because we had gotten stuck and since everyone had left there was only myself and my husband and my 10 year old son. The stero sound system for on top of the boat did not work and since this was most of the glory of the trip for the young people it was very important to us. We called to ask about it and they offered to come out the next morning to fix it. It turned out that one of the 4 remotes was not necessary and one of the buttons was pushed that stopped the system from working on top of the boat, there was also a wire on the back of the system that had come unplugged. In the letter there was the assumption that the sound system problem was due to something we had done and that was most likely done by kids that were unsupervised. So it was that letter that ruined it for us. We just wanted to feel rich for four days and we were left feeling robbed of that feeling. read more

This buisness held $500 in deposit from us and when it was time to get it back they charged us $100 to come to the boat and fix the sound system. They told us to call if we had any trouble and they never mentioned one time that we were going to be charged $100 to come out - if we would of known that we wouldn't have had them come out. They also wrote 3 paragraphs explaining why they only refunded us $100 of our $500 deposit. They assumed that we let the kids play with the controls and told us we were negligent, which was false. They charged us $100 to replace a wire shelf in the refrigerator and said in the explaination for this deduction that they had never in their time of buisness have they ever seen anyone use it for a BBQ. We had to take the shelf out because all the shelves were to short for the milk, it got put on the stove and the stove was turned on and it was an accident that it was burned. $200 was deducted for being 2 hours late, it was the largest boat they had and there was 2 adults and two children left and the boat got stuck, it was very scarey and tears were shed. Not one time did we hear or see anywhere about the return time, nothing ever said. When we rented last year they promised us the boat but we didn't get into the boat for two hours. They apolized several times for being late, but they never refunded us any money. So how does that work? We get charged $200 for enjoying our adnenture while being stuck even after we told them what happened. Last year all of us watied for 2 hours for the boat to be ready and we got no discount. They were very anxious to get out $5,000 for 4 nights though. They also wrote and threatened to duduct $100 for cleaning. They said it was the messiest they have ever seen. I kept thinking they must be thinking of another boat, because I did the dishes and their was only a load of clean dishes in the dish washer. The night before the 4 year old children were having fun taking turns vacuming. We rented a smaller boat the year before and paid $4000 for one week and had a good relationship with the maintence man. I never expected such an insulting, degrading explaination for the reasoning behind why we were not getting our deposit back. I was so excited to rent that big boat. It had a jacuzzi up top and the sound system up stairs. All year I looked forward to the trip. When we put water in the hot tub it was brown. They didn't tell us that the water that went in it was river water. It was really gross looking, so we didn't do the hot tub. Then when the older kids came they wanted to listen to the music up top and nobody could figure out how to get it to play on the top. I called to ask them about why it wasn't working and not one time did they say maybe the lock button was pushed or maybe its unplugged or don'[t try using the 3rd remote. It was very very complicating and they blamed us for it not working. They said the kids locked it by playing with it. No kids had touched any of the remotes and they found the system was unplugged. We were looking forward to using the satilette TV and not once were ever able to get it, even when we were sitting in the boat before leaving . They said we couldn't get it because of the rock we were parked behind. It is was very expensive and we were looking forward to the $500 back minus the damaged shelf in the refrigertor that we expected to pay for. I called to ask about the letter and the lack of our deposit and the manager listened to my concerns and said he would get back to me about it. That was over a month ago and he never called back. We imagined something so so much better then we got. It was horrible how they tock advantage of us and our money. They did way too much assuming and not enough customer service. I would not recommend this buisness to anyone. They made us feel like second class citizens. We are still paying for this boat trip and will be for at least a year. I hope someone can learn from our experience and not rent from them for the above reasons. It is very sad that were treated so poorly. We don't live in a milliondollar house and but we wanted to feel what it feels like to be that few days. It ended so horribly and the letter explaining the lose of deposit made us feel like Hillbillies. A very sad ending to a story that could hav ended so much better. read more
