What an odd and eclectic place! Part grocer/general store, part tire shop, and as of April 2010, part bar & grill.
With a pedigree like that we had no choice but stop in while on a road trip from Kansas City!
(Let it be noted: this review is about the B&G portion of the business.)
Though it calls itself "Columbia Bar & Grill", we discovered there's no physical bar per se. "Just grab some beers out of that cooler over there," the woman at the counter told us.
We grabbed our beers and paid. My friend, out of habit, tipped her a buck.
"That may be the first time in the history of tipping," he pondered as we sat down, "that someone got a tip for merely pointing. She never actually touched the beer." Which is true... the bottles had twist-off caps so we opened them ourselves.
We didn't try the food, but I looked over the menu and the prices are VERY cheap.
It's a clean, open area and doesn't really have much character yet, but I wouldn't expect that in a place that just opened few weeks ago. It'll be interesting to see how this business develops in the months to come. read more
