Columbus Corner Bakery is a delicious hidden gem in Columbus. I remember discovering Columbus Corner Bakery years ago when I was pregnant with my first child. The service was amazing and the food was phenomenal. I have visited many times over the years, but felt it was full circle to take my now ten year old there for treats. The lady at the register was extremely sweet. She answered all of our questions and made suggestions as to what we were in the mood for. The variety and selection is HUGE. We ended up deciding on dessert bars, a cinnamon roll, a few cookies, and some cheese straws. Just as it did years ago it hit the spot. Everything was delicious. As a girl with family in Charleston the cheese straws are amazing! Many may think that this is just a local bakery to order cakes from, but it is also a delicious bakery with fresh baked goods every day. They have a wonderful small seating area to eat your treats as well. read more

We ordered a birthday cake for my son's 11th birthday. He wanted UGA which they did and it was beautiful. Unfortunately, I (the dad) never saw it. My wife went to pick it up and before she could get home with it she had to brake suddenly to avoid an accident. She avoided the automobile accident which is great, but that led to a cake accident. My son was holding the cake in the back seat and thanks to inertia, when she hit the brakes, the cake headed for the floor. My son (whose left arm was already in a cast) quickly reached with his right hand and caught it in the middle. He saved the interior of the car but sacrificed the cake. Much of which ended up on his hand and immediately brought tears to his eyes. My wife took the disaster back to the bakery who quickly rebuilt the cake and even recreated Uga's head - better than the original! They saved the day and a little boy's birthday party at no additional charge. It's easy to do the right thing when all is well, but the measure of service is how you handle the unexpected. The cake was delicious and looked amazing. Professional service at this level is hard to find in any service industry! Kudos and thank you Columbus Corner Bakery! read more

This awesome bakery goes above and beyond for their customers. Since I had 2 days to plan for a promotion ceremony and I'm not stationed on Fort Benning, I looked online for local bakeries in Columbus. Columbus Corner Bakery was the only bakery that was able to make the exact cake I wanted within less than 48 hour notice! Their customer service was above all expectations and I was super impressed by how amazing the cake tasted!!! This was the first time calling them and I thank God that they were available to help even during this Covid pandemic!! honestly i hate to rate any business this low but this is the ugliest cake i think i have ever seen. it was not what i had asked for. the icing was like bleeding there was what looked to be a finger smush print in it. one of the words looks to be misspelled, the icing on one of the letters was broken, the boarder was not connected and overall the cake looked messy and not like what i have seen this bakery do before. i feel bad but i was too embarrassed to bring this cake into public. i attached some photos (not all) read more

I really had my hopes up for some tasty cupcakes for my coworkers and I, so I scooped up some carrot cake and key lime pie flavored ones! The key lime was was LITERALLY a plain cupcake with green colored cake NO key lime flavor was present. For a plain cupcake it was pretty good not overly sweet which is a plus and not too heavy on the frosting. I didn't bother to taste the carrot cake, but was told by my coworkers it was good cupcake. The service is "ok" when you come the presentation of their deserts where you pick what you want seems congested-- almost too many items crammed together -- like others cupcakes and cookies are pressed up against one another which I didn't care for. read more

Extremely disappointed!!!! To think that I actually spent money on this cake is a crying shame. I could have bought a box from Walmart and had my 3year old do the same job at decorating. I am in disbelief that you could let a cake leave your facility looking like this and to charge $26 dollars for it too! 3/28/19 Worst red velvet cake. It was dry & the cake part wasn't that rich color red. The words Happy Birthday were written sloppy. My husband asked for a cake to feed 5-10 people & when he picked it up it was a size for like 20-30. He did mention the size & they were very blah about it. Tasted awful! read more

The staff at Columbus Corner Bakery are extraordinary. Their support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation is great. They make all the "Wish Cakes" for children in the Columbus, GA area. Apparently, it's also their policy to not charge Wish Families for stuff anymore. My wife just returned from the store with two large boxes of eclairs, muffins, turnovers, etc and it was all free. Everything was great. I see that other Yelpers have given poor reviews for service or attitude. I've been there several times and I've never had a problem. Perhaps, the reviewers contributed a little bit of their attitude. As far as price, if you're going to a boutique bakery; then you should be prepared to pay more than the big box grocery stores. Give them a shot, go in with a fun attitude (you're buying cakes/pastries for Pete's sake), and enjoy the results. read more

I bought a red velvet cake for my friend's birthday. I ended up getting Covid and had to change the pick up date. Their staff was wonderful in accommodating me. Then I went to pick it up and they didn't have my cake. They immediately went into action and made me a cake. They had to call in the decorator because she had gone home for the day. When she arrived she came in with a great attitude and did my cake. Then before I left they gave me a gift certificate which was above and beyond great customer service. Their cakes are WONDERFUL! This place is awesome!!!! Not only are the cakes and baked goods exceptional but the creativity and talent of decorating is matched by none, at least in Columbus. I have taken photos in and even requested specialty cakes and they have come through like a true champ. The price for a cake is very reasonable and the taste is unbeatable. The other reviewers have no idea what Good Cake is. This place is about equal to the Winn Dixie or other mass-produced cakererys. Manpanion and I had high hopes, which were dashed after a sampling of 4 desserts: Cupcake, caramel Square-Cake, Bon-Bon Cake and Pie-Triangle. The Pie triangle thing was actually un-finishable, tasting faintly of refrigerator and wax. The "buttercream" frosting tastes like whipped sugar lard, no trace of butter to be savored. The cake is pretty good cake, well-beated, fluffy and light, but the frostings are so bad, there's no salvaging the cake. Pat-a-cakes, which is not on yelp, is the Best Cake in Columbus, GA - closed on Monday and Sunday. No point in treating at the CCornerB, unless one is partial to cheap-tasting desserts, ala airplane cake. read more

What a disappointment! My granddaughter's FIRST birthday cake was supposed to be 'grumpy cat', which is her favorite toy. Turned out to be a disgruntled mix of rabbit and hamster. The cake part was okayish, but I think they had a surplus of frosting (which was extremely sweet), and filled it to their hearts content. I had seen cakes from the Columbus corner bakery before, and that is why we decided to go there. I think I'm taking cake decorating classes. Because I will NEVER go there again. I had a great experience Columbus Corner Bakery. I don't remember her name but she was very friendly on the phone and in person. We talked for about ten minutes in person. She really made my day. My husband is in Afghanistan so I am spending my birthday alone but I have a great cake to eat. It's only a 6 inch cake but it's perfect for couples. I ordered the yellow cake and she did a buttercream frosting with a beautiful blue design (my favorite color). I would definitely use them again but we are in the process of moving out of state in August. The butter cream frosting is very sweet but it's really good and the cake is nice and moist. You are paying a little more but just an FYI out there to anyone that didn't already know. Walmart, Winn Dixie, etc gets there cakes delivered in frozen so when you order a cake you are not getting a freshly baked cake. I would rather pay a few dollars more for a cake made on the premises. Don't believe me, call your local Walmart or other grocery chain and they will tell you that the cakes are shipped to them frozen. You get what you pay for. Their cakes are very unique but they use 6 inches of icing to decorate the cake. They then add another 2 inches in the design. I cannot eat the cake until I scoop off the icing. The prices are not negotiable no matter how you ask the person to decorate it. One time I ordered a wedding shower cake for an art teacher. I told them she was a free spirit and loved art. I got a cake with MUSHROOMS, LAVA LAMPS and PEACE SIGNS. Seriously! For a wedding shower cake. I told them it was a wedding shower! Every cake I've ordered for my son has BLACK icing. Every birthday party is spent with parents scrubbing mouths and rinsing mouths to prevent black smiles. I haven't been back since the last birthday cake. It was a disaster. read more

With nearly no notice they can have an amazingly beautiful and delicious cake ready. Definitely for the VERY special occasions. Would have given 5 stars, but they are a bit pricey. If you need a chocolate fix, go for the chocolate cupcake with ganache icing. If I were given one last meal, I'd skip dinner and go straight for the cupcake! Martha, Brenda and the staff at CCB are awesome. I am treated like a superstar because I am a representative of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Yes, it is true for the last 7 years Martha has donated every single cake to our precious wish children, each cake is specially made for the unique wish of the child. WOW, what an experience that was. I've been here before a few years ago and it was ... alright but never came back. And now I know why I will never be back. The cake and pastries are no better than a Wal-Mart. I knew thing were off when I was ask if I needed help, you would think that I was a freeloader asking for the world, the feeling was so bad that one lady looked at me and said are you kidding and walked out, my mistake was I should have done the same. When you make icing and call it butter cream it should not crunch, the cake tasted no better than a Wal-Mart or Publix cake. The cinnamon rolls were just plain and dry and the cannolis were a slap in the face to my wife who is from NY City, they were bad. On check out I then ask for the a recipe and was ignored, so when I added up my purchase I found that I was over charged by ten dollars...no wonder she ran off to the back so fast. I have to agree with the earlier post saying people around here do not know what good cake is because this place doesn't have it. Publix and Fresh Market have better cakes and goods than this place, and the service is far friendlier. People, please get out and travel and taste the food of the areas you are in, ask around and you will find amazing things. I honestly can say that holds true for anything I have found in Columbus as a hole, if any one has any suggestions for Bakeries or Restaurants in the area please let me know. read more
