The first thing a painter said to my husband was basically asking him if we were going to help them remove and put things back, which confused us since that was part of the job description. These people cut so many corners. They didn't remove switch plates or fixtures, they didn't tarp everything, they didn't sand down patches on the wall, they didn't remove any nails they just painted over them, and they got paint spatter all over my house. When they finished they did not do a thorough cleaning, they used MY broom that I had set out and swept the floor, that is it. They did make an effort put mostly everything back where it was but it was all done very sloppily. We had to have them scratch paint off of some things in the final walk through, but there was no way I could've noticed all the little things that got paint on them. When I asked if there was going to be a more thorough cleanup than just sweeping the answer was basically "nah that's it". So I had to spend hours deep cleaning (which I thought I was paying for) and chipping paint off of every surface, and I keep finding it places a couple weeks later. I don't think they tarped my bathroom barely at all considering there was paint on my shower head, my shower curtain, my face lotion on the counter, on the tile floor and in the grout, on my tub and on some decor. When I called to let them know I was upset about the way it went they did try to rectify the situation by offering to come back, however I had already cleaned it up and fixed it because it was finished on a Friday evening so I left a voicemail and didn't hear back until Monday - because I wasn't going to leave my house like that. From speaking with them and looking at the cost I, like I said, had very high expectations that were unfortunately not met. The painters were nice people, but the sloppiness of it all was not what I expected and I felt completely misled about how "professional" of a job it was going to be. They did the majority of my 1,150 sq foot house in two days, and my guess is that part of the sloppiness comes from being rushed. I'd have rather had it be a three day thing and done properly. They get two stars because the walls themselves are painted fine, but the misleading description of what the job is paired with the actual execution and its lack of professional detail is not acceptable at the price point.

Never heard from him. Every time I called him he was painting somewhere else. I finally asked him how many houses are you putting in front of my job? Would not answer me. I told him I had asked him in May to paint. I didn't think it would be this long. I called him several times since: Left message 8/9/16 Left message 8/14/16 Left message 8/15/16 Spoke to Jim 8/15/16 - he stated 1 week to week 1/2 to start 8/16/16 Jim called me in pm - be about 2 weeks stating he has been rehabing a home 9/5/16 - Jim stopped in front of house and growled about height of house and a lot of painting. Asked how old I was. What does that have to do about painting my house? 9/16/16 said he would start Monday (9/18/16) - said he has a helper now. 9/18/16 - never showed up - I called him this date at 5:15 pm - asked why he never came, said it would be next week. I told him I had a chance to work today and lost a day's wages. He promised me it would be today, argued with me that he told me later in week. I told him he said today and that I was firing him. He hung up on me. She is in her early 70's and said he really creeped her out by asking how old she was and felt lead on. She has since hired someone else. We don't have children or pets, so the paint has held up well, but time takes its toll. Instead of doing it ourselves we sought a contractor as there were issues that were beyond our DIY skills. We had several walls that had previously been finished with a highly textured sand finish that was popular years ago. We also had several walls that had been painted with stripes using a glaze. This is notoriously difficult to repaint unless a bonding primer is used. Several contractors suggested that they could address the issues by just applying thicker paint to cover it all up. I really wanted these walls sanded and primed as I felt this would produce the best finish. We chose Creative Finishes as our painting contractor. Although not the least expensive contractor that we solicited a bid from, Nate was the only contractor who addressed all our concerns. Ashley was wonderful to work with regarding scheduling. The crew arrived on time and was ready to work. They were gracious and worked with us in a collaborative manner. The crew was quick to address anything that was of concern. The work was completed in three days. We are very pleased with the result and the price was very reasonable. The walls look fantastic and brand new. We are happy to recommend Creative Finishes as a painting contractor.
