This facility is for people in crisis. Many people want to go in and get "fixed". Many of these people will need long term professional help by an outside agency for that to happen. Columbus Springs:Dublin help stabilize my son. He was extremely depressed and had suicide ideation. It is a shame that this facility is getting 1 stars based on the front desk person. We found that if you asked questions, you got answers. Visitation is daily which doesn't happen in other facilities and the staff we encounter was very helpful. I would NEVER EVER recommend a family member or friend to seek ANY help from Dublin/Columbus Springs East facilities. I have been to both.I will not get into my personal medical issues (except where necessary). But was forced both times to be admitted to first Dublin Springs then a second time two years later to Columbus Springs East. The staff treated me like a inferior human being. They did not provide me with a diabetic meal one single time I went to eat. Their pharmacy did NOT have ANY of the same medications prescribed by my doctor's and instead was given what their 'pharmacy specialist/pharmacist' deemed as appropriate. And finally they refused to provide me with the correct dosage of insulin (I'm diabetic). I asked to call my GP doctor to validate the dosage. They refused to allow me to call MY GP DOCTOR! Instead I was told to fill out a form allowing them to contact my GP doctor for validation (which I did). They NEVER sent that permission form to my doctor nor tried to contact him. My blood sugar levels were between 360 to 430 the entire time I was there (Columbus Springs East). My wife could tell I was in trouble with my diabetes as I was semi-coherent and slurring my words when I was able to access a phone to call her. She immediately called my GP doctor and advised him of my sugar levels and her concerns - he was appalled. My GP doctor's nurse called Columbus Springs East to try to validate my insulin dosage and get my sugar levels down. (I was nearing the point of passing out). The person my doctor's nurse spoke to was extremely rude and completely refused to talk to her (my doctor's nurse) about me at all and hung up on her. And they also failed multiple times to provide me with call receipt notifications from my wife. When I called her she asked me why I didn't return her calls. Well....they didn't notify me. Also, the psychiatrist assigned to me was on vacation during my confinement (cannot call it treatment or help). I only met with him for a total of 15 minutes (after a total of 7 days in confinement) he didn't listen to me and asked me three questions and immediately added another drug to the list of drugs I was already taking. These facilities are a 'for profit' company and from my experience care less about the patient then their making money. I was AMAZED that they would admit a person with an addiction issue to the mental health ward - but witnessed it. The 'daily' help' meetings/sessions were designed for mental health individuals. They were totally meaningless to the people who were there for addiction issues. (All of we inmates did talk about the poor treatment with each other). It CLEARLY demonstrated to me they were only interested in filling a bed in order to make more money - not provide the correct therapy/help for the correct condition. One day 3 people were released/kicked out because they had no further insurance benefits or means to pay. One of the three should have not been released. I am a veteran and do not fear many things and this person worried/scared me. He NEEDED proper treatment from what I saw. But he was kicked out to the street. The last step before I was released I was locked into a room and waited 20 minutes for a financial specialist to go over my bill. I explained that I would gladly make payments and with a smile on her face she (financial/billing person) told me that was no issue. We received one bill and promptly paid it. After that...the bills which we requested and they agreed to send stopped coming. Then I got a letter from a collection agency. So now I could not deal with Columbus Springs East billing and had to work with a collection agency to get things straightened out. So I again say NEVER EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES allow a family member or friend to enter either Dublin Springs or Columbus Springs East. If you care for them find a good individual therapist and psychiatrist. If you truly care for them you will listen to this review. read more

The place was nice but the therapist was not, Sarah was very disrespectful and doesn't seem to care about the patients well being

My family member was an inpatient at this facility for 6 days and received no benefit whatsoever. She was suffering from alcohol abuse, depression and multiple sclerosis. She ask staff members for four days for assistance taking a shower or simply a shower chair because with her disability she struggles to shower without help. She never received either. I made multiple phone calls for a variety of reasons and visited everynight. One phone call was ever returned. These were calls to speak with staff in the unit or to schedule a meeting with her therapist. One time I received a satisfactory response, all the other times i was either told they would call back or i got disconnected or hung up on , i am not sure which. After trying for 2 days to meet with her therapist i finally caught him on a visitation period to speak with him about a couple concerns, one being my wifes allergies. He had a hand written list of meds she couldnt take but told me he couldn't read the penmanship to know what some of it said. He did call and let me know she was to be released on Monday but the RN working told me personally on the phone friday night ( and told my family member) she was to be released on saturday. I called back 3 times between 930 pm ( when i was first told of saturday release) and finally got it verified at 230 am she was wrong and the release was monday as i told the nurse in the first place which upset my depressed family member more with false hope for earlier release. Communication , organization and patient respect and aid are very poor. This is a short list of the issues here and this was all in only 6 days of inpatient stay. Oh yes and all this for somewhere around 1900 dollars a day! Please for the sake of your loved ones look for another facility, this one does have a few wonderful staff members but most are working way to many hrs and are not dependable or efficient at all read more

I called a few minutes ago and politely asked to talk to my older sister. As soon as I said my sisters name the lady who answered the phone completely snapped on me. She raised her voice and tried to say I already called for her 3 times, when it was my FIRST time calling since my sister has been there. The workers are rude and unprofessional. They need to reevaluate themselves, I would be very embarrassed if I was running the place and my employees acted like that. It completely ruined my day. read more

Horrible center. Diagnosed me with multiple things that on second opinion after leaving the center (and my primary therapist as well) were completely inaccurate and honestly dangerous to be doing. Medication was basically forced onto me or else I would be staying for longer. I was told I had a drug addiction problem because of a few incidents of use. After leaving the center and getting my bill, I attempted to contact the billing department at corporate for months and tried to contact the billing department supervisor I believe Brandy. I left messages and called multiple times over the months and was hit with a collections notice. After receiving the notice, I went to Columbus springs to complain and was told that my bill had been waived. Later I actually received my first call from Brandy who told me that I still owed the money and denied that I had ever attempted to call the center. Extremely rude. Attempted to call the Dublin location and every time I called they transferred me to a voicemail where I never received calls back. Now, after finally getting everything to a point where I was discussing my bill, I was told I have 6 months to pay a $2800 bill or else it would stay in collections. I had been attempting to pay it for the past 6+ months!!! Do not go here. They just want your money and have a very poorly taught psychiatrist. Robert the therapist is very good though and helped me get out of there ASAP because he realized I didn't need the treatment they were attempting to give me. read more

A joke, a waste of time, a step back in progress. Don't go here. Seek counseling and a psychiatrist on the outside. Rushed through intake, wasn't allowed normal items like stickers and hairbrushes. Treated in a condescending manner when asked about different options for meds. Left on the exact same medicines I came in on. No individual therapy, just group therapy. Diabetic complained that they had no diet for them and their blood sugar was 400. Yikes! Patient had a seizure and they didn't protect their head, possibly could have been a negligent medicine combo. This diagnosis and that diagnosis "wasn't an issue for me right now." Gave me a totally bullshite new diagnosis. The best they can offer you is rest, food, and a little space from your life. The nurses and lower ranking staff, recreation people and the medical doctor are great, but anyone that has any actual power in there is lame. They are doing as little work as possible, sucking insurance money and preying off the feeling of superiority they get from people that aren't in a good place in life. Oh, also, don't want to be in your right mind when you talk to the psychiatrist? That's going to happen. They wake you up at like 5 AM to go talk to the psychiatrist, and they give you decaf coffee, so no help there. Do not let the look of this place fool you. They aren't going to help you on any level, so don't bother. read more

First of all I am not a person who typically writes reviews about anything. I have had the misfortune of being hospitalized twice in the past couple years for chemical dependency and mental health issues. I was initially in this hospital when it first open. It was a wonderful experience and I was very impressed with everyone at every step of the process. Up front in the interview area, the unit with the excellent nursing staff, I remember Melanie, Janet, Maya, Lisa, Pam, Nick and Katie in the evening, and my doctor Dr Patel and the incredible cooks and food they served. I gained weight. Who has ever heard of gaining weight in the hospital? Well I was back a few months ago and boy has this place changed in a short period of time. Dr Patel is gone first off. Most of the nurses that seemed so knowledgeable are gone. Every day I saw a different nurse and every day it seemed someone was there for their first day!!! No one seemed to know anything. I was actually almost given the wrong medicine by a nurse that was just out of school. The front office was just rude and it appeared to me that unskilled people were making decisions and telling professionals what to do. The food also is basically just packaged GFS food heated up now with absolutely no flavor. There is nothing remarkable or elite about this facility. Actually it feels quite unsafe to be there. Dont let your family go there if you have any say in the matter! read more

It's really great that there is another mental health in patient treatment center in Ohio. I was surprised at how many people from Cleveland were there. Dublin Springs (DS) is only 2 years old & the facility is very nice, The bathroom reminded me of the Embassy Suites Hotel. The food's okay & for smokers they have several smoke breaks during the day. Like all other facilities like this most of the day is spent in "group" therapy/discussion sessions. They're helpful if you haven't been to inpatient treatment before. If you have it's the same as every other facility. The problem I had with DS "groups": was many of them were run by students getting their degrees. Many people said they felt like :guinea pigs." It really makes a difference if your group leader is experienced. This was a big negative. My psychiatrist put me on a medication I told him I didn't want to take (for valid) reasons. My opinion didn't matter; he put me on the medication anyway. He spent very little time with me, barely made eye contact & kept me at the facility longer than necessary (in my opinion) Another big negative,. Finally there are not enough nurses; not even close. I've been to other facilities & the nurses really helped in my recovery; more than the doctors. At DS they only have time to hand out medications & do paperwork. On several occasions they couldn't respond to patients who were having "meltdowns." That's not safe..I have to say the nurses at DS were great they were just understaffed. This is the biggest negative. I hope they make some improvements at Dublin /springs since there aren't enough in patient facilities & definitely not enough good ones. read more
