I'm completely shocked about my experience at Dr. Colvilles medical office in Ocean Springs…read more I checked in for my appointment and shortly after was taken to a small room. The doctors nurse came in and sat down, placing a device on my finger to check my blood pressure. She said she had a few questions to ask me. The first question she asked was if I had anyone designated to make medical decisions for me should I be unable to do so myself. I replied with "no". I then told her that since this was my first visit with this doctor, I'd like to see if we are compatible as it is difficult finding good doctors. She agreed. I told her that if I felt like it was a good fit, I could get the answer to that question after our visit and let them know then. She replied saying that there really wasn't a way to do that. She then told me to hold on and left the room. She returned a moment later standing in the doorway with the door open and said that they would not be able to have me as a patient as I refused to answer any of her questions. I told her that was not true at all. She didn't allow me to finish talking and actually escorted me out of the building. I could not believe the treatment from this lady. It felt as if I was an inmate at a prison. As I walked out past her to leave, I told her that she was way out of line. It is not unlawful for someone to be unable to or willingly not provide certain information on medical forms and surely it does not warrant discrimination and refusal of service. If they wanted extensive information such as the one question she asked me, they could send patients forms beforehand so that they could actually obtain that particular information. I've never had a doctors office ask me that so did not even have the answer for them. I also did fill out paperwork before the appointment online as well as providing them with their absurd $100 deposit they require should you cancel your appointment. Their office had cancelled my original appointment weeks prior via voicemail saying that the doctor had to leave town and asked if I could come in the very next day instead. I didn't receive the voicemail and so after speaking with them to reschedule, they seemed upset that I hadn't received their voicemail and so rescheduled me for 3 weeks later. They also called me the day of my appointment asking if I was able to come in earlier. The nurse was unprofessional, uncaring, and lacked empathy which is the exact opposite of what a doctors office should provide. As a side note, the environment of their office is small, dim, and maze-like creating a very crowded sense. It did not feel like a welcoming and positive environment to say the least. I would suggest going elsewhere.

I was very surprised and dismayed by the way I was treated by this doctor and his office…read more I don't know what I could've done to cause them to behave this way or to correct this situation. Apparently doctor did not remember that he had ordered additional allergy testing for me. That would be fine, I don't expect anyone to be perfect, but he treated me like I was an idiot because I thought he had ordered additional testing. I went and gave people my blood so that stood out to me more personally than it may have to him, but he had the benefit of the opportunity to look at my chart to see whether or not he had actually ordered more tests or received the results before yelling at me about it. I had not seen the results on MyChart after several weeks so I called the office to ask them if my allergy test results had been returned and they told me that they had but that I could not be told the results over the phone, that I would have to see the doctor in order to get those results. So they scheduled me an appointment for this specifically ahead of the time that had previously been pre-arranged. He told me that he wanted to see me in three months. It took them two months to order the tests. So I had gone and gotten them two weeks before this visit. I came to see the doctor and he was very miffed that I was there that day as if it were a real imposition on him to see me. He thought that I was there to talk to him about previous allergy testing that had been done. I had been told already by the lab that the first test indicated that I had an abnormal result and that I was still allergic. But I wasn't there to ask about that test or question his judgment about it. Then he started telling me that I was not allergic and that the result I had gotten indicated that my reaction wasn't strong enough to be considered an allergy. I was there to ask him about the other tests, not that one. Pardon me, but I do believe that it is the doctor's responsibility to keep track of what tests are ordered, when they come back, and then to tell me what they mean in a timely fashion. There must be some problem with the way that notation was made on the chart because he and his office made the same mistake. He actually said to me that I was "being really annoying". And I said "I wasn't meaning to be annoying" and he said "well at least you admit it" I was trying to explain to him that we were talking about two different results but I couldn't get him to listen to me long enough to clarify it. I have never had a doctor talk to me this way in my whole life. The results of the additional tests I had taken showed up on MyChart the following day. I should have quit while I was ahead. Before I left scheduled an appointment to see Dr. Ericson for an audiology screening the following week and they scheduled me an appointment. I was so flustered by the way I had been treated that when I was on my way out that I forgot to get the address because they have two offices. So I called on the phone and said "I need to know the address of the office to go to for my appointment with Dr. Ericson." She apparently gave me the wrong address, so I'm in my car right now just absolutely fuming outside the empty office that is closed. I didn't get my hearing appointment today. If I am charged for a missed appointment there will be hell to pay. I will not reschedule with this office for any reason. Noone needs this hassle from a health care provider or his office staff.
