Instead of paying an exorbitant fee to have a trash company place and retrieve an industrial dumpster at your property, you simply go to the Mesquite Landfill entrance gate, have your vehicle weighed, and pay $175. You then traverse a circuitous path on dirt roads around, over, and into the landfill, back up your truck and trailer, and dump your unwanted materials by hand. It is that simple. Just remember that you'll need a truck, SUV, Jeep, or some-such vehicle with off-road capability. I strongly suggest bringing a mask, gloves, and eye protection, and to wear shoes and clothing that you won't mind parting with. I wore boots that, afterwards, I immediately bagged and gave to my local shoe repair once back in Vegas. If you have a weak stomach, this is not for you. Skip breakfast that morning for you will struggle not to vomit. The smell at ground zero of this or any landfill defies articulation. It is unlike any hellish sour stench you could possibly imagine: a general population beatdown and relentless gang rape of your olfactory senses, a miasmic stew of rotting roadkill scrapings, medical waste, retirement home diapers, slaughterhouse refuse, chocolated kitty litter, Diddy CDs, expired Frosty mix, Harris banners, and capped collegiate washouts who couldn't pay their bookies. It is a landfill in Texas after all, Hades' Anus, not the pastry case at Dean & Deluca in Manhattan. Thank god we did this in November and not July. If you have a lot of metal when you first enter you will stick to your right because you will drive over the area that says " Truck Scale" they will prompt you when to move onto the scale. They weigh your truck and by looking right they give you a green light to go ahead. After you get the green light you drive towards the back where you unload all your metal. Once your done you will go back to the truck scale and weigh your truck without the metal. After your done you will park anywhere get off and stand in line at the cashier so they can give you a check for the amount of your metal. Now if you selling cans/ scrap stuff that isn't as large you' would drive in get off and then get asstaince that way but since we had large metal pieces our process was different. It is a crazy little process but nonetheless an experience to understand.

This is the only dump I've ever been to in my 37 years on planet Earth that didn't have me wanting to puke while being there. I don't know what their methods are but to me that's amazing! I've been a few times but I had to dispose my old bed recently which caused me to make an appearance there. The dump is actually in Creedmoor (It says Buda on Yelp) & FM 1327 is a quiet & pleasant little road to travel along. The nature preserve surrounding the landfill is also pleasant to look at & is kind of cool that the landfill is trying to make good use of the land surrounding it. The overall cost of disposing my old bed + large boxes left behind from the new bed ended up being around $67. That with the $45 U-Haul pickup rental + gas was still cheaper than paying the furniture store's $189 disposal fee. The employees I dealt with were friendly, had good attitudes, & from an outsider's perspective they seemed to be well taken care of by the company they work for.

The level of service has been unacceptable and has caused ongoing frustration. For years, I did not have issues with trash pickup, but recently the service has become unreliable and inconsistent. Missed pickups have become a recurring problem, and communication from the company has been poor. When concerns were reported, there was little effort made to resolve the issues in a timely or satisfactory manner. To make matters worse, I was required to pay additional quarterly fees because my residence is located on a dirt road, despite the fact that service was being provided and the trucks were already traveling down the road. On many occasions, drivers would reach the end of the road, back up, and leave without any apparent difficulty, making the additional charges difficult to justify. As a paying customer, I expect dependable service, accountability, and basic customer support. Instead, I have experienced missed collections, poor communication, and a lack of professionalism. The overall experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I cannot recommend Texas Disposal Systems based on my experience and would encourage potential customers to carefully consider other options before choosing this company.
