I gave approval to fix. $750 later the mower was picked up. The very first time i went to use it, there wasn't enough power to engage the mower deck. There had been no problem with the carburetor when I took it in. I called and they said it must be the carburetor, if I would bring it back, they would replace it and just charge me for the part. It is very difficult for me to take it to them, paid a guy to do so. We had to pull it onto a trailer with a tractor. After 30 days, my son-in -law picked it up. The first time I went to use it, at full throttle the power was about half of normal. Then I tried to run it. A extremely high pitched squeal from the left rear. I called them immediately. Dr Bill' said "I would have never let it leave with a problem". Bring it back". Well he let it leave the first time with a problem. Now a second time. I am 74, I don't have help to take it back to them again. I haven't had a mower that worked since June. What was a loose throttle cable has turned into almost $1000, two trips, and a mower that still has a major problem.

So I'm not particularly feeling all warm and cozy about this place right now. However, the couple times I've been helped before this last time, the guys went through the recipes with us and made sure we knew what we were doing (we're novices which means we don't have a distilling system and we have to use extract), which was awesome. My hometown brew place does the same and really makes sure their customers have what they need, especially when you're a beginner, and they are what I measure all other brew shops to. Their prices are especially quite low and it's great because it makes doing multiple batches of beer not nearly as expensive as other places. This alone is why you should come to Homebrew Supply. BUT on our most recent trip, the dude that helped us paid very little attention, didn't discuss the recipes with us (considering we selected from Homebrew's recipe selection) and just rushed around getting us supplies. It was uncomfortable say the least. We left a little weirded out with a huge bag of wheat and no extract. I should have immediately called my mom but my boyfriend and I headed for food. It ended up that the supplies given to us were those meant for experts who have a freaking DISTILLING system, which my boyfriend and I DO NOT HAVE. Thanks Homebrew Supply. After my mom reviewed the recipes and the supplies, she told us that the recipe was written by someone who really wanted to sound "fancy" and that she could simplify the recipe but we'd have to go get extract. The final result is that my boyfriend and I bought enough grain for 4 batches of beer and our expense was nearly 5X what we should have had to spend. WE ARE PRETTY PISSED. My advice: Homebrew Supply is a great place to go for your supplies but make sure you really talk to the guys if you're a beginner. And if the guys aren't willing to talk to you, walk back out. Brewing beer is a really fun hobby to get into, but going to a place that's willing to give you the time of day is really important. Also, the dude who helped us, should probably get a talking to *hint, hint* because he just lost Homebrew Supply a set of customers.

This is easily one of the worst online ordering experiences I've ever had. Their entire system is…read moredisorganized, misleading, and the customer service is unbelievably bad. First of all, when you place an order, they don't even process it right away. Apparently they wait until they have a pile of orders before they bother doing anything. So your order just sits there while they take their time getting around to it. Then there's the shipping timeline. When they say 7-10 business days, they absolutely mean they will wait until the very last possible moment and ship it on day 10. Don't expect anything sooner because clearly there is no urgency on their end. To make things even worse, when placing the order the website clearly showed $0.00 for shipping. Naturally, anyone would expect that means shipping is free. Then after the order is placed, I get an email saying that if I want my item shipped, I'll have to pay for the shipping. How is that the customer's fault? If your website says $0.00 for shipping, then that's exactly what it should be -- not a bait-and-switch email afterward asking for more money. Trying to contact someone was another nightmare. I had to call multiple times just to get someone to answer the phone. And when someone finally did pick up, the experience somehow got even worse. The employee named Jackson delivered what is easily the most unprofessional customer service I've dealt with. Rude, talked back with attitude, and acted like the entire situation was somehow our fault for expecting basic service and for believing what their own website said.
