This school is a scam. They get people to take out loans, don't provide the services they claim to,…read moreand then sue the people for double the loan cost. You can see this is their common practice based on other reviews. They prey on young people interested in health and wellness who don't know how to spot the scam. Extremely sad and deplorable. I'm surprised there's not a major lawsuit.

In 2008 I applied here to attend the Phlebotomy classes. I went in for a tour, I met the teacher,…read moreI filled out paperwork and signed many papers concerning loans and financial assistance. I could not receive a loan so I opted out of attending because I couldn't afford to pay for it out of pocket. I put it behind me. Jump ahead 4 years....I am served a summons to appear in court with the plaintiff being BHC!!! Imagine my surprise as I had never once attended classes here or even stepped foot on the campus since the initial day of the tour! I couldn't understand why I was being sued for some outrageous amount for classes I had never even attended or agreed to! The gentleman serving me the summons told me that the same thing had happened to his friends daughter. The same being that she filled out paperwork and went on a tour, never attended and then was sued for the unpaid amount of attending classes. We settled on an amount with the courts because my signature was everywhere! I tried to talk to the school many times and the head of admissions was "never in" and never returned my calls. I even showed up one day and stormed past the reception area to her office and pounded on the door. This place is a joke. This "school" is 100% a scam!

Going into debt for college or working a soul-crushing 9-5 would be more enjoyable than Job Corps…read more I came here to learn, but I'm stuck with immature roommates who have zero social awareness or respect for others. I'm spending my time correcting teenagers and drug addicts instead of focusing on my trade. For how strict the program is on minor details, they are dangerously lenient during non-training hours. There is a total lack of authority because the staff, who are underpaid, would rather be friends with students than enforce rules. This has led to a breakdown in respect where the "bad" students outweigh the good, leaving those of us who actually have some smarts and care about our futures feeling like we're in a lost cause. The living conditions are horrid and borderline unsanitary. You can't even use the bathroom properly because stalls are missing toilet paper or don't close, and public restrooms are locked up because students use them for drugs or sex. While both are government-funded, local public schools beat Job Corps in every category from food quality to quantity. The system doesn't separate age groups or progress levels, so you're lumped in with a mix of 16-to-24-year-olds regardless of maturity. The Career Preparation Period (CPP) is a useless facade, and while they try to pamper you with activities the first week, it's all just a front to hide the reality of the program. Security and oversight are fundamentally broken. The screening process is a joke; students exploit the system by bringing in THC pens and other contraband because bags are barely checked and metal detectors are bypassed. Even when caught, Resident Assistants are often too lenient, assigning meaningless "details" that no one actually completes. There is a deep inconsistency in how rules are enforced; one day a manager tells you that you have "too much stuff" despite it being on your inventory, and the next, an RA is ignoring blatant drug use because they are friends with the students. Some staff members are even rumored to be supplying the substances themselves. The turnover rate for both staff and students is nonstop, which halts any real progress. I'm making no headway in my trade because of a poor culinary instructor who relies on favoritism rather than education. It feels like the program has strayed from its original purpose of providing opportunity and has instead become a dumping ground for parents who can't handle their children. This isn't a place for rehabilitation or learning anymore; it's a place of poverty-level conditions and failed bureaucracy. The only reason I stayed so long is for the free healthcare and driver's license, but the bad consistently outshines the good. Unless there is a massive overhaul in how they handle safety, substance abuse, and basic living standards, nothing here will ever change.
