Please if you visit this beautiful peaceful beach bring an extra garbage bag to take your trash out when you're done, the garbage is located by the food stand by the smoking section. Parking outside is either paid or if you get there early you can find a spot outside of the parking lot like I did.

Water was super calm, perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding. I saw a few people snorkeling, but we didn't bring Andy gear so I don't know if this is a good snorkeling spot. I would. I'd imagine it could be because there were lots of pelicans in the area, hanging out and diving for food. This beach is part of the Guanica State Forest. Entrance fee is $2 per person. Residents of Guanica and minors enter for free. Once you pass the gate, the path is all dirt. There are no restrooms or food options inside. There are also no trash cans. There is a trash bin at the entrance for when you leave. Overall, this beach is a gem and I recommend visiting it.

It took some damage during Hurricane María in 2017 and then during the January 2020 earthquakes. You can see some structures such as the bbq pits destroyed (I wish I had taken a picture). I don't know if the ferry is operational again. However, if you have a kayak, paddleboard or boat, you can access the island. That is what we did this past weekend. We were staying with some friends at Copamarina Beach Resort. We rented two kayaks and paddled out there. It takes about 20min each way. When we arrived there weren't many people there. It was so quiet and peaceful. It was as close as you could get to having the place to yourself. We found a nice spot and chilled. The kids loved it too. The next day we returned with drinks and snacks (we took all the trash back with us to the resort). We encountered some curious iguanas which we had to fend off so they wouldn't approach our food. Still, it was a fun day.

Get a pina cola before boarding the boat (leaves every hour on the hour). You can bring chairs, and definitely bring a cooler with drinks and a float! And lunch!! Our first full day in the area, we drove over here to see the hidden beauty. There's a lake located in the middle and there are plenty of paths to take, where you can see the iguanas or find a secluded spot on the pristine beach with crystal blue water. On some days you have to pay $2 per person. The day we visited, we didn't have to pay. You drive very slowly through the park and find a nice spot to leave your car and then just walk through any of the paths, to the beautiful beach. I would suggest finding a shaded spot for the car so that you're not entering an oven after a long day in the sun. One morning I went for a run down here. Families start arriving pretty early, in order to grab choice spots. There are no vendors on this side, so you should bring your own coolers and snacks. It's a nice place to be away from the water toys and loud beach goers, that you would find on the other side. We brought babes down here with her floaty and she had a blast in the blue water. They start closing up around 430p so make sure you have your stuff together and you're ready to leave. They make a last drive through to ensure everyone has left and then they lock the gates.
