Super LGBTQ+ inclusive/focused, educational and the employees are very knowledgeable. The atmosphere promotes asking questions and receiving honest answers, exploring options, and getting comfortable. For many women, in particular, apprehensive in dealing with adult shops, CAYA is a refreshing breath of fresh air. I imagine Sue Johansson would give it her seal of approval, and if it's good for Canada's premiere sex educator, take notice. For one, CAYA's appeal is the lack of pink, infantilized garbage targeted at women or the junk toys riddled with flawed design that can make them a health hazard in addition to a waste of money. They carry leading brands like BSwish, Germany's outstanding Fun Factory, and Aneiros, known for bulletproof quality and materials. Think of these toys as the Kitchen-Aid mixers of their industry. The website provides outstanding descriptions in an easy to read format, chockful of all the things you need to be an informed consumer, and I don't just mean measurements! Hands on demo models allows you to test everything from texture to vibration strength. It's well encouraged to explore the stock. DVDs, magazines, literature, and a large assortment of accessories are also for sale. It's a one stop shop that sure beats trawling through the Internet or a dash into a shadier store off a highway exit. I guarantee you they've probably heard all your questions before and no one is likely to snicker disparagingly for asking if you can stick something in the dishwasher or need to handwash. And let's face it, some of those pricey pieces are almost pieces of art, especially anything made of glass or glass-like goodness. You will pay a bit more for their products and certainly more than a sketchy corner shop. Absolutely phenomenal customer service in a very well laid out store. I would definitely recommend this shop for the shy or inexperienced wanting to know more. I've never been treated better and given more information anywhere else. On both visits, the staff did not wait for me to come to them with my questions. They happily started a conversation with me and showed me some awesome stuff. They are not pushy or nosy. The more intimidating items are in the back, which is great if you're a bit shy. My partner and I bought a very vanilla massage book and took a few samples of lube and massage oil (generously offered on the house, your mileage may vary). My friend purchased a few varieties of condoms, nicely offered in a cute Chinese takeout box. It was kind of like a buffet of rubbers. I didn't find the prices too steep for what was offered. If you're used to drug store stuff, then yeah I could see that claim. But the prices for each product were on par with other stores and online. I love the information brochures arranged around the place. Yes, I would love to learn more about spanking, haha! Really good customer service. The girls were awesome helping with my choice. I knew what I wanted (brand and type) but I couldn't decide which form was the best for me. One girl helped me for like half and hour. She explained everything I needed to know. I still needed time to think about my decision. After like 15 min I chose one of my 3 options. When I paid I told her about the promotion with Yelp check in. I tough she was gonna give me ONE sample of lube, but she gave me something around 12 different samples, all different brands and types! I was so happy! I also like the store, it looks modern, clean, and fun. I didn't feel weird asking and talking about what I wanted to buy and my concerns about every option. They have a lot of toys that you can turn on and see how they work so it's easier to see and feel in your hands what are you really buying. Definitely going back here! This place is great! I really really love it, and wholeheartedly recommend it! If you're looking for a sweet, well-stocked feminist sex shop, this is the place to go. Their customer service is spectacular and they have an excellent selection of toys, books and DVDs. I've also heard that their workshops are lots of fun and very informative! At first, I was terrified to even enter a sex shop, but as soon as I did the CAYA staff made me feel very comfortable and well looked after. Check them out before they go out of business! I used to come to this store a few times a year but my last interaction has totally turned me off from returning. I was debating even reviewing, as I almost never buy sex toys here, because frankly, Seduction has way better selection and pricing, but Come As You Are specifically bills itself as queer and trans friendly and I now question that. Typically I only come to Come As You Are for their trans stuff--packers, binders, and items that are used to enable better passing--things that are not sex toys and cannot be used as sex toys. I made a mistake last time and grabbed the wrong packer. I returned within a week (I have a disability that makes travel difficult, so these aren't easy trips for me to make) with the packer in its sealed plastic and the receipt. I didn't want a refund, I just wanted to exchange it for a similar item, just a smaller size. I was told even though it's sealed in plastic and not a sex toy that I was not allowed to exchange it due to health concerns. Then the employee told me to go on a Facebook group and exchange it for used toys and such. That's when I got angry and pretty disgusted: it's a passing item, not a sex toy (it cannot be used to penetrate); I came back as soon as my disability enabled; on top of disregarding those facts, don't tell me it's a hygiene issue and then tell me to (without checking if I'm out about my trans status on Facebook or not) exchange the item for used products online. I'm tired of companies saying they're queer friendly, trans friendly, accessible, etc. when they're clearly just trying to make a buck off of those groups of people. Will not be returning and will be telling others to go elsewhere, too. read more

This sex store is totally as good as it gets! I was amazed by the selection- lots of lube and condoms if you're just looking for a quick downtown pickup, but also tons of other stuff. DVDs, books, BDSM gear, as well as sex toys for anyone. I was very impressed by the price range, and how helpful the staff (who own the store cooperatively!) were.
