I am grateful for this hotel to have saved my trip to Asia, which got botched up by Delta - they canceled the first leg from EWR to DTW only a few hours before departure time, and I had to get myself to DTW overnight. I took the last flight I could find (on another airline) out of NYC that evening, and stayed at this Comfort Inn. It was easy to book, at the last minute, for a very reasonable price. They offer transport to and fro DTW terminals 24/7 (I got to the hotel after 1 am). The bed and pillows are comfortable, the room and shower are clean, and there is a nice breakfast included in the room rate. Both shuttle driver and counter staff are super friendly (huge contract to cold and unhelpful Delta). What more can one expect? read more

Very unhappy experience. The carpet on the main floor is filthy. Room was very outdated my main issue is with the park and fly. We have tons of choices in the area to choose. We chose this one only to find out they only allow you 5 days parking and then you have to pay per day at the quick park. So you pay $200 to sleep and park plus you pay for extra parking days. They do not tell you that. False advertising read more

The positives: very comfortable bed! (We stayed in a Hilton garden Inn in Orlando the next night and the bed was no where near as comfortable as the one in the Comfort Inn.) Very good transportation between DTW and hotel, there is a restaurant in the hotel with friendly service. We didn't drive, so can't say how parking was. Why the low rating? A bunch of reasons: The Hotwire site calls it a boutique hotel and I beg to differ. Walls in the 1st floor hall have peeling wallpaper. C'mon folks. This is not acceptable if you want to make a good first impression on guests. As others have mentioned, moldiness is present. Opened the cabinet next to the fridge and it was covered with mold spots. I'm surprised by the negative reviews. When I was stranded in the airport thanks to Air Canada, Comfort Inn and Suites saved the day! I called the shuttle from the airport, it's free and reliable. The staff is cordial. Yes, the hotel is dated. I don't think the furniture or carpet have been updated since the 1970's. But the rooms are clean, spacious and comfortably appointed with a desk, cable TV, free WiFi, a mini-fridge and microwave. There's good water pressure in the shower and a serene bed with lots of pillows. Most importantly, the rooms are whisper quiet. I didn't hear any doors slamming, conversations or street noise which is rare. I slept well. They gave me a late checkout which was very much appreciated. Breakfast is hot and restocked regularly and the seating area is large and tidy. I'm a fan of pour your own waffles! There are typical staples of cold and hot cereal, pork sausage, powdered eggs, juice and yogurt. The only thing missing is fresh fruit. I used the business center to check email and print my boarding pass. There's also a hotel restaurant and fitness center I didn't get to try. There aren't any dining options within walking distance but food delivery is available. Luxury it is not. But if you want a clean, comfortable, moderately-priced, quiet room with a free shuttle & breakfast, Comfort Inn is an easy choice! read more

They quoted multiple different prices and refused to give us a veteran discount because our total had already been calculated. The whole hall smelled like weed. Rugs were ripped a dirty. Children had scribbled over the furniture. Walls are paper thin so you can hear whole conversations of other guests. Outlets in the rooms didn't work. read more

I have stayed in this hotel twice in the past month. This was all previously booked. Now the first time I was here the I had a mediocre experience. It's weird to see mold on the furniture, shower and in the fridge, but hey the staff was nice and the breakfast was good. The second time I came we were given a dirty room. That's fine we just requested a change. The new room we were given had clearly been smoked in and smelled like cigarette smoke. Now I can forgive one dirty room but two? Come on yall, that's embarrassing. The staff did have to deal with me being upset with them and I give them props for that. I just don't understand why have a hotel only to keep it filthy. Large selection of cable TV channels with HBO as a premium channel. Room aside this hotel has a small restaurant on ground floor providing the convenience of eating in especially if you don't have a car. Lastly there is a 24 hour shuttle proving free Transportation to Detroit metro airport. This hotel was completely awful. You think that a hotel by The airport would try and go and beyond to lure local travelers over. I came in through a side door in the back because apparently it was left open and the card reader was broken. The check in process was actually smooth and the front desk was quite friendly. I really did enjoy seeing they had a bar with decent hours as well. Upon getting my hotel, I went to my room, my door was already open. Thankfully nobody was inside but the carpets were all stained. Housekeeping and maintenance were the worst. The fan in the bathroom wasn't working, you need to hold the drain down the whole time and there was even a pizza box hidden in the closet. I have no complaints on this spot. It is near Detroit airport with free shuttle and stay n park packages. I have stayed here before flight or just if I need a place while in the area. Check in is always fast n friendly. There is a restaurant and bar. Food n drinks are reasonable and the food is above average. I recommend the jacuzzi room. Its worth the little bit extra. Its a real jacuzzi. Not one of those itty bitty jet tubs that's part of the shower. Its completely separate and could fit 3 folks easily. They lose a star because the free breakfast is not worth getting up for. Tastes like heated up microwave food with the usual suspects: eggs sausage bagels waffles etc. The only time I eat it is when I have an early flight in the morning. I was so impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel. Nice finishes on the inside and the staff are professional and warm. They asked me for a review on trip advisor but I thought i already have a Yelp account... I traveled in after a hard drove on icy roads and they were as nice as could be expected. I travel a lot and I found this gem to be one I'll return to. The rooms were good size for the money and more importantly they were clean. The management must watch the hotel reality shows because every idea that the reality show host mentioned has been done to this hotel. Clean above the mirrors and pictures, no throw pillows on the bed, etc. Close to the Detroit Metro Airport I was back at the rental car location in a jiffy. I will be back next time! This hotel is clean and updated. The staff is friendly. They have a bus for airport pickup and drop off. We dropped off a rental car and took the rental car shuttle to the main airport. We called the hotel and they picked us up in 20 minutes. The shuttle is shared with the Baymont hotel down the street. The breakfast is great...waffle maker, fresh fruit (apples, pears, oranges), English muffins, bagels, scrambled eggs, sausage links, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, instant oatmeal. The staff kept the buffet stocked. It is served 6 am-9 am. Our room had a one hole putting green in it. We had to large desks, fridge, and a microwave. There was a wet bar area. It was a large room. The a/c has the feature that the fan can run constantly. There is a sound machine to drown out airplane noise if you need it. There is nightlight in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable with clean new sheets. There is HBO. They have WIFI, but I couldn't get it to work and did not ask for assistance. There is an ice machine on each floor. There is an attached restaurant. There is a business center with four PCs and printers. We were able to print our boarding passes very easily. The hotel was quiet inside. There is plenty of parking. I booked this hotel through Park Sleep Fly as I had a red eye for a lengthy business trip. Parked on site at the hotel. Check in was okay. Hotel looks like it was recently renovated. Got to the room and the first thing I noticed was a musty smell. Might have been because the room hadn't been occupied all day and air needed to circulate; it could also have been the giant hot tub almost directly next to the bed which was weird. Aside from jacuzzi weirdness room was okay. Bed was comfortable, climate control cooled the room to an acceptable temperature, and the ride to the airport in the morning was mostly uneventful (note: the hotel shares a shuttle so be sure to give yourself extra time). Issues occurred on return, first I couldn't remember what the shuttle back to the hotel looked like and no person at the terminal could tell me so I wound up waiting for a while. I finally called the hotel and was placed on hold for almost 10 minutes. I wound up taking a Lyft back to the hotel. My car was where I had left it however the car two spots down from me was up on blocks with all its tires removed. This doesn't exactly inspire confidence in security at this hotel. I would recommend this hotel as an overnight, it's inexpensive and the rooms are okay. I 100% WOULD NOT park my car here again. read more

Well, where do I start... Actually, my check in was fine. The lady doing so was a bit abrupt, but it was a night game in Ann Arbor and a busy day at the airport, so I chalked it up to being understaffed, grabbed my key, and went on my way. My room was on the backside of the building, so I pulled my car around. I was met by the same taped over lock at what was supposed to be a keyed rear entrance....the same one mentioned by another Yelper 25 DAYS before.... Sensing a downward trend? Just you wait. I went upstairs to my room, and this time the keyless entry worked. The room was fairly neat and orderly, but as the previously mentioned Yelper said, the carpet was stained. I tried plugging my phone into the beside four prong outlet, with two additional boots for cell phones: neither boot worked, and after one more try with my regular plug, finally found a working outlet. I then proceeded to take a shower, and found that the bathroom was relatively clean, but the shower drain was very slow. Towels were clean and orderly, and I got dressed and headed for the game. Being a night game, I didn't get back until about 1 am. I was whipped, so stripped off my clothes and went to bed. I slept ok, pillows were good quality and the mattress was meh. Then, about 5 am, I woke up to use the bathroom. I thought I smelled a faint gas/rotten eggs smell, but didn't think much about it, and went back to bed. My alarm woke me at 6 am, and I got dressed expecting to head to breakfast. As I walked out the door into the hallway, that gas smell again...much heavier this time. I then looked down into the lobby from the second floor to see four fire fighters from the Romulus Fire Department. A disconcerting site to say the least. I got into the elevator and went to the lobby, only to find the same firefighters propping the sensor driven exterior doors open with chairs from the lobby. Several of my fellow guess we're standing underneath the car canopy, along with what I assume was the night shift desk clerk. She was desperately trying to call both the owner and her replacement on the morning shift. Bluetooth in her ear, she asked if I was checking out, and I said I would, but I hoped to get breakfast first. She indicated that she didn't know if breakfast would continue, and had no idea when the gas smell would be addressed. A couple of things here: One, there was absolutely no communication given to any of us about the gas leak until we were in the lobby; two, A woman who kept repeatedly asking if she needed to go in and get her elderly mother out because of the gas leak was ignored by both the clerk and the firemen; three, When several of us asked whether or not we would be reimbursed for the inconvenience of the gas leak, we were met with blank stairs from the same clerk; four, there was a general sense that this wasn't the first time that the clerk had problems getting ahold of the owner; and finally, There seem to be absolutely no concern made for the folks still sleeping in their rooms, who probably have no clue or way of knowing that there was a potential health/safety hazard happening. In short, I would suggest looking at other places to stay. These folks clearly don't have their stuff together. read more

I reluctantly was here because I missed my connecting flight out of DTW, due to Delta airlines string of flight delays on my itinerary. It was 11pm when I landed in DTW and I talked with the gate agent who pointed me to go to gate A43 for flight rebooking etc. There I got my hotel voucher and $30 worth of compensation to use in DTW. The Comfort Inn DTW is a quaint airport area hotel, which is about a 6 minute drive via hotel airport shuttle. I was supposed to fly to Burlington, VT, but I guess this was a pretty good thing Delta did, just to keep the customer happy. A basic no frills property, Comfort Inn was pretty good and it was comfortable for just one night. I was frustrated to be stuck in Detroit for more than I need to, but the hotel compensation was pretty good. It was the first time this type of thing happened to me. This property has a fitness room and a meeting room, both on the first floor. The dining area is large, but I didn't eat there. The check in process was fast, expedited, an professional - especially in the middle of the night. The room was clean and decent, so that was pretty good. Beds were soft and the tv was in working order. Just needed a room for the night and Comfort Inn delivered. The beds were comfortable, so it was probably just me trying to acclimate to the time zone difference on the first night. Basic room with two double beds. No microwave or fridge in my room though. No big deal. Basic comfort was all that I needed. No need the fancy, but on my budget, it was a nice respite for what Delta had put me through that weekend. Well, it's not the Ritz, but do you expect it to be? This place is an excellent choice to stay at if you have a 7am flight the next morning. Look into their Stay & Fly special. For about $89 you can stay the night, have a "deluxe" continental breakfast (starting at 4:30 am!) and leave your car in Airlines Parking across the street. It beats worrying about getting to the airport from Troy on time to make your vacation flight. The room was clean and fairly quiet (Hey, it's next to the airport...how quiet can you expect it to be?). Some of the FREE things you get are: WiFi in every room USA Today Local calls "Deluxe" continental b-fast How can they be out of donuts at 5:30 in the morning? I found myself having to spend the night in Detroit after missing my flight. I searched for a cheap hotel close by the airport and this was one of the first ones I saw. For $62/night, you really can't beat this. The hotel was less than 2 miles away from the airport and was a $12 Uber ride. Check in was quick and easy. I got a room on the first floor. The room was standard: 2 beds, a large dresser, heater, TV and nightstand. The bathroom was so small and the door only closes when you are all the way inside. The room is kind of rusty and old, and needs updating. The hotel did have a restaurant attached that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. I ordered fish and chips. The food was prepared under 15 minutes. It was very hot but I could tell it had just been heated up and wasn't cooked on the spot. It was OK, nothing special but it did fill me up. I took the shuttle bus in the morning to the airport. You have to book it the night before, 2 hours before your flight. The hotel had bagged breakfast which consisted of a muffin and choice of fruit. Would have loved if the buffet was available but due to COVID, it probably will not be for a while. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for those that need a quick, last minute overnight stay. I definitely would not stay here for longer than one night. read more

If I could have given 0 stars, I would have. When I first opened the door to my assigned room (#134) I was nearly knocked down with the musty Oder that greeted me. I was tired tho and thought it might go away (it didn't). I plugged my phone into my battery pack then decided to use the room provided charging unit instead to save my battery. The moment I plugged it in, my phone went dead. (Caused by a Power surge later confirmed by Apple) There was not much I could do but try to sleep. Upon waking in the morning, I went to open the curtains only to find the source of the musty odor. The entire carpet about 3' from the wall was soaking wet. Who knows what kind of mold is growing under there. SHAME ON YOU CHOICE HOTELS. After checking out, and purchasing a new phone, I contacted choice customer service 3 times and all 3 times, was outsourced and received progressively worse service. The compensation offered from the hotel was a free night (the first one didn't go so well and wasn't sure why they thought I'd want to try again) and from customer service, was loyalty points (valued at maybe a Venté Starbucks drink). First offer-useless, second offer- insulting. This issue still has not been resolved. I will continue to call, write, etc until someone who cares at #choicehotels responds.. I never would have even booked this room But I needed a last minute room and #choicehotels has always been my go-to brand because I use loyalty points. The Comfort Inn Metro Airport was perfect. Just a quick drive from the car rental (free airport shuttle if needed). When we checked I'm at 1am, the night manager quickly found our reservation and we were just as quickly settled in our room. It was spacious and clean. Comfortable bed and pillows. Our room even had a little portable putting green. The next morning we enjoyed a free hot breakfast and were on our way. My stay was pretty decent. The beds were super comfy and the room was clean. I enjoyed the fact that the shuttle drivers were right on time with their services & the complimentary breakfast in the morning was delightful. My only complaint I have about the hotel was the lack of respect and service towards me when I was checking in. It was a late night (had just landed from Houston at 12 am) and I had simply asked the front desk agent that was working that evening if the bar was closed (I sincerely was just asking out of curiosity). Out of nowhere, one of the staff that was working in the bar rudely blurted out "oh no, we are done, we closed, no more because we are finished". Besides that little outburst, my stay was pretty nice for the night. Stick to burgers, salads, sandwiches, and fried foods. Also, if your flight arrives early, be advised that you cannot check in before 12pm unless you pay a $40 fee. We were flying out of DTW at 7am, so we decided to stay at a hotel near the airport to allow for more sleep. Also, they offered the extended parking for our car. Checking in was a breeze. There were carts to load your luggage on, covered loading area, friendly staff. You drop your car keys off at the desk across from the hotel check in. There were two elevators to get you to your room. They did have a weird smell going on in the lifts. There is a workout room on the main floor, but only three pieces of equipment. There is also a bar (beer and alcohol) that stays open until at least midnight. There is also a grill/restaurant. Free breakfast in the morning (bagels, muffins, danishes, cereals, waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, juice, coffee, yogurt). Breakfast starts at 4am...nice if you have an early or late flight. The first night we stayed in a deluxe room with a jacuzzi. HUGE tub but the jets were a little weak. Still great to unwind in!!! The king size bed was clean, the room was clean, bathroom clean, couch clean....This room had a refrigerator. The second night we just got a standard king room...no fridge. Both beds were comfortable enough...however the pillows are really small/short. Our car was safe and sound-though the seat was adjusted. The shuttle driver was a good driver and I have never had faster pick up or drop off service and I have stayed at a lot of stay and park hotel/motels across the country. read more

This motel is better than some of the reviews had led me to believe. The value seems excellent for the price paid. My room is clean. The furniture is nice. A/C works and is quiet. Housekeeping was in and out fast. Front desk people are cheerful and helpful. I have to work from the room, and the wifi is great. There's even some nicely-priced laundry machines that are saving me a ton of time over having to drive somewhere to get laundry done. I got lucky with the room and have a nice view over some large field that's been planted with some sort of crop. Not sure what crop it is, but it's a sea of green and nice to look at. I'm awarding a full five stars, because this motel hits all the marks that I'm looking for in a mid-priced property. read more

If I could give this hotel no stars I would. We booked our hotel several months in advance. Upon arrival we were told our room that we paid for 3 months in advance had been given away. They told us all hotels were sold out for 20 miles. We decided to make it work for the night and move rooms in the am. Upon getting into our room we noticed PREVIOUS OCCUPANTS BELONGINGS. They left a golf club in the room. It was also BUG INFESTED! We had no car, and no room at this point and a very tired and scared 7 year old. The Lovely manager Ryan left her front desk staff to deal with it and went home for the evening. The front desk informed us they could not spray all the bugs in our room bc there were too many. We found a room many miles away at a holiday in express. We were forced to get a cab and go to another hotel or sleep with the bugs. The hotel will not refund my money because we checked in and apparently they think it's acceptable for guest to sleep in unsanitary conditions. We will never go to another Comfort Inn.
