Stayed twice in past months. This place is old but fairly well kept -BUT Some inconsistencies exist. There are sliding translucent doors to bathrooms and THERE ARE NO TOWEL BARS! 16 HOURS IN DETROIT!!! I spent 16 hours in Detroit just to knock another baseball stadium off my list. Look the only thing really keeping this rating from being a two star is the airport shuttle. The Shuttle service went along seamlessly. I love when a shuttle hauls ass to get you from point A to Point B. Now for the room, it is what you expect for $135. Its huge ( A plus) there was separate living room! Which would have been awesome if the couch didn't have a stain on the cushion - I say cum stain you can assume whatever you'd like. It was a 1 and one half bathroom so that was odd. Toilet seat was dirty, I had to wipe it off. Not to mention the next morning before we left, it would not flush.... Took a shower and that was a average time nothing special, but about 10 minutes later we hear crash like glass broke.. Turns out the the shower HANDLE, fell off the wall and cracked the whole shower pan. tried to fix it but that shit was not going back on. Lastly, I don't know what the heck was going on with my neighbors but they were CONSTANTLY slamming their door and opening it. I don't think I slept more than 30 mins in each session. Take what you want with the info, there was food and a Starbucks in the parking lot. I don't blame the hotel for the neighbors and I was not going to be the one to complain. We stayed at the Spring Hill suites in Detroit while we were visiting. The hotel itself was pretty good for the most part I did enjoy the room the air-conditioning worked really well I like the extra couch on the other side it was very spacious unfortunately the pool was closed because of Covid and the shower was a nice shower with hot water and spacious room. So glad we l only stayed one night and for only about my 4 hours or so. From the front desk, the hotel seemed decent. Then I walked in the room. Omg, I seriously wanted to check out & go to the Holiday Inn! The carpet felt sticky and dirty! The shower was disgusting! There was mold in this room! The vents are full of dust! Is anyone really cleaning this room? We didn't have wash rags so I called the front desk. Since the gal working was by herself, I had to walk down to the front desk to get some. The sliding doors are hard to close and seem to come off track. Never again will I stay here! Parking can also be hectic as the holiday inn is right across from it. This has to be the worst SpringHill Suites ever! read more

Great location convenient to the airport. The building still looks pretty new and is well kept. Everything was clean. All the staff we have interacted with have been friendly and professional, from the front desk to the staff at the breakfast area. The rooms are big. We have four people in our room and there is plenty of space for us and the kids' hockey gear. The shower is separate from the toilet, which is also nice with multiple people. Everything is clean, and there is a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker. The one issue that makes it 4 stars is hearing the airplanes landing/taking off throughout the night. It was definitely a problem the first night. Second night we ran the fan for white noise and that worked perfectly. A key card is required to keep the lights on so plan ahead and get an extra when you check in. Breakfast was fine, coffee was meh, but there is a Starbucks basically in the parking lot. I checked into my room & once again my beds we dirty. This time it was makeup & hair on the sheets. I had a double bed; the other bed looked as if there was a spec blood on it along with hair. After waiting approximately 40 minutes to get situated into another room, I asked the nice understanding reception (Zac) if they have anything for inconveniences. He said that he would ask his general manager. Zac came back to my room to bring my room keys along with a message from his GM. The GM stated since I am an airline employee that they do not comp anything or give anything to airline employees because we do not pay for the rooms ourselves, our company pays for them. That is a true statement, but because my room was not cleaned I (myself) was inconvenienced. I am missing approximately 45 minutes of my time because my room was not cleaned. How many customers stay in hotel rooms paid for by their companies? I guess we don't deserve the same treatment as regular paying customers. This happened to me last month as well. I didn't ask for anything then. Zac helped me that time too, he even took pictures of the dirty sheets from both beds. I think this is very inconsiderate of the GM to say he would not comp anything. I would of been extremely happy just to receive a clean room. So perhaps next time, they can have a clean room for me because I'm here so often. I must admit when I stay across the way at the Holiday Inn, I never have an issue with dirty rooms. I don't understand why this is an issue when I know both hotels are ran by the same GM. read more

Got to do better!! I had a wedding to attend in Michigan an I choose this hotel as it was close to the venue. I booked one night, thank god! Upon arrival my room was not ready and I was offered a handicap room. I would have said no but I needed to shower and get dressed for the wedding. So I accepted it, I was also told the pool was closed, the gym was closed and the bar was closed. I'm so glad I was only there one night cause this would have been a big problem for me. So I go to my room and turn on the lights in the bathroom and sink area and I get nothing no lights. I call down stairs to tell them the lights aren't working and she says oh she must have forgotten to tell me they are a eco-friendly hotel and I have to put my roomcard in the slot by the door. I put my card in and the light is so dim I could hardly see to curl my hair. I had to get the floor lamp an plug it in so I could see. I go to turn the water on at the sink and the handle flips up, I flip it up and the entire handle falls off. My arm bumps a hook on the wall as I'm curling my hair and the hook falls off the wall. Now you cannot tell me the person/s cleaning this room didn't notice all these broken fixtures in this room. The bed was comfortable but that's the only good thing I can say about my stay. My family stayed here for my brother's graduation. The rooms are very spacious. My family got two rooms with two queen sized beds for $90 each. The rooms include a couch area and desk. The bathroom is also split up into two rooms--one with the shower and one with the toilet. Wifi is included and parking is plentiful. There's also a fitness center and spa. Complimentary breakfast is served every morning with your standard fare of bagels, cereal, yogurt, and the best part Belgian waffles. My main gripe with this place is that the walls are somewhat thin. I could hear the person above us walking around and our neighbors in the room next to us. read more

My family an I stayed on a "park and fly" package on December 24th. When we checked in the front desk staff informed me that no such package existed. I contacted the assistant manager Tahiri. She was so accommodating and dropped the voucher off at the parking lot for me to use upon picking up of my car. The hotel is clean and spacious and the airport shuttle was timely. I would stay again and hope the front desk staff can be better informed. read more

Super happy with our experience at this hotel! It's updated and extremely clean. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and tidy. Front desk staff was friendly. The restaurant next door is tasty. Very reasonably priced. It's literally everything you could want in a hotel close to the airport! After a long day of moving, it was great to have a comfortable place to get some sleep before our early morning flight. With no car, the great spot to eat next door was an huge plus, too! I've stayed at this place a few times for work - it's one of the nicer hotels in the chain at that level. Rooms are very spacious. The bath is separate from the toilet area, so that could be nice if you have more than one person in the room. Facility is clean and quiet. There is an airport shuttle. I can't comment on breakfast since I leave earlier than it begins. The only thing that people may not like is the airport noise (which I found negligible) and lack of nearby food options. Super thin walls, poorly thought out restrooms, so-so breakfast at best, strange happenings in the back parking lot. 1) must have been a sports team or something staying there, they were running up and down the hall until about 12:30am. Could hear everything going on in the rooms next to us and the hallways. 2) sliding door is quite noisy in the middle of the night, also frosted glass door doesn't stop much light or noise coming from the bathroom. 3) eggs were run of the mill powdered eggs, turkey sausage (seriously) oatmeal was stuck to the pot, waffle area was a mess. 4) parked in the back lot, noticed a car parked in the far back corner occupied 1x, gathered my belongings locked the car and looked back and a head popped up from the occupants lap...lady must have been taking a nap. read more

This hotel could not be worse. Truly. It smells like weed at all times, the staff is rude and absolutely not helpful, and they refuse to clean the rooms. Upon arrival they asked if we'd like cleaning service, to which we said yes. Each day we arrived back to the room to find no clean towels and no one had cleaned the room. One of the days, when we asked for clean towels there were none and we were told it would be at least 30 minutes. There is also trash outside of rooms for whole days at a time. Breakfast was subpar and they refuse to restock anything. The lights in the hot tub were literally hanging out with wiring exposed and there were dirty pool towels on the pool deck for days. This was one of the worst hotel experiences we've ever had. Being BonVoy members, we found this incredibly disappointing and will reconsider our membership. This experience was truly terrible. read more

I loved this hotel. I travel a lot for work, and stay in many hotels of the Hilton/Marriott brands, and this is the nicest one yet. The room was a king suite, and everything was very nice. I went to the restaurant across the parking lot (some sports themed place) and ordered a pizza, took it back to my suite, and ate while watching college basketball. Parking is plentiful and easy, close to airport. Really cant ask for more. I am already booked to stay there next week on another trip. Oh, Wifi is really slow. Practically unusable. read more

You know the saying "Everything old is new again"... well, welcome to SpringHill in Romulus! Retro meets contemporary with the 1" glass tiles, bright secondary colors and those bead curtains in the lobby! The room was wonderful, and the bed was one of the better beds that I have slept in. The sitting area was decent size with ample 1960s era type lighting. It was very handy having the sink in a separate alcove from the toilet and shower area. The morning breakfast was very good with some options not found at other SpringHill properties. Checkin and checkout were a breeze, as was the shuttle service to/from Metro. Cant say if I will be passing thru there again, but if I do, this will be the place to stay! read more

I loved staying here. It cost around $100 for the night but that included 7 days of parking while we were in sunny Florida. A no-brainer really. The interior design of the lobby and rooms was really interesting and tasteful. Everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast had a lot of variety (loved the waffle-maker!) The phone system and cable were down during the morning of our stay which meant that we did not get our wake-up call. Thankfully we set our own alarms otherwise we would have missed our flight. Wasn't sure why the desk clerk didn't just call the rooms manually from the list they had. That is the only reason why I took off a star Would still stay here again. read more

Stayed in room 432. Great room, king sized bed. Separate shower and toilet. The hotel is beautiful-probably renoed or built recently. Must use key card in room to activate the lights - this is a feature in many hotels in Europe. Plenty of parking. Many food stops nearby, just use Yelp for help. I stayed here one snowy night when my flight was cancelled. The check in was fast and the person a the front desk was very friendly. The room was very spacious and clean! My only complaint is that I could hear everyone walking by my door that night (many other stranded passengers). The next morning check out was quick and the shuttle driver arrived right on time. Very close to the airport. There is not much to eat near by. However, there is a sports grill across the parking lot. This is one of my top choice hotels to stay when I am traveling. They have amazing pillows!!!!This is the first hotel I have been to that requires you to use your room key to turn the lights on. I guess they are saving on the light bill. On to the sad news. I found a huge spider in the room. I said HELLLLLLLLLL NO!!!! I thought if this spider is here the rest of the spider family is close by then. I got my suit case and flew to the front desk . Front staff was super warm and sweet when u came in after a long day of travel. It's a standard spring hill suites so if you've bed before you know what to expect from breakfast etc. the work out room was nice if not small but all machines were new and in working order. Personal tv on each machine which I appreciate. They have a shuttle that takes to and from the airport as well as around the immediate area so you can go to various restaurants. It's within walking distance to a Starbucks, Indian restaurant, and a few other places. Secluded in a business park, there wasn't much noise around the hotel which was nice. The grounds are kept well and tidy. Everyone from the ladies at the desk to the breakfast attendants were wanting to improve my experience as much as possible. If I make my way out to Sacramento again I would be very happy to stay here again! read more
