So despite all the bad reviews I decided to see for myself and here I am delivering another bad review. When we got there the room was spacious and it seemed clean. Upon inspection I discovered the shower floor was dirty as well as the carpet annnnddddd there are still currently Semen stains on the walls ( I have attached pictures below) I called the front desk that following morning to explain and he says the cleaners are coming, when she came she did not clean the wall and after she cleaned the bathroom the shower floor is still dark with dirt. The towel also had dark spots smh. The only thing people ask for when booking a room is for it to be CLEAN. read more

Doesn't deserve one star. A complete dump, moldy, horrible smells. Blood stains on the walls, broken glass in the bathroom framed picture!! Old old old!! Rude front desk staff. Our room was opened by someone else's keycard in the middle of the night!!! Yes we forgot the deadbolt but we were scared to death when other people came into our room. The front desk said "oh we have a slight lag in the system!" No you have a serious problem!! Nobody should be able to enter your room. I demanded a refund but was only 'giggled at' for feeling insecure there! Beds are terrible, carpets filthy, bugs scampered along the walls. Closet smelled of dirty hamster cage bedding. The sidewalks outside are a tripping hazard with broken concrete. TVs don't work! I'm reporting this facility to the Virginia Health Department... it needs to be shut down! read more

We stopped here while we were traveling to Florence, SC and between the snow and being exhausted, I had to stop driving. Unfortunately, there wasn't a Holiday Inn Express until Richmond and this was the best option. It wasn't a great room but it wasn't bad either. Clean room but it needed minor repairs. Bed was firm but comfortable. Good pillows. The shower in the morning didn't get more than just a little warmer than luke warm. Also, if you more than 5'10" tall, you'll feel like Buddy the Elf taking a shower in the North Pole because the shower head is sort of low. Not many options for breakfast, mostly muffins but I think that is because of COVID. Not a bad place to stay if you're just spending the night and leaving in the morning. read more

We originally had reservations at another hotel but they overbooked and sent us here. Check in was super quick, hotel lobby was clean. Front desk girl was friendly. We stayed on the first floor and have no complaints. The rooms were large with mini fridge and mirocwave, along with desk and couch. The feeling heights were crazy, I've never had a hotel room with vaulted ceiling's, especially not on the first floor. It was fairly quite, we did hear a few dog barks (it's a dog friendly hotel) but nothing that was annoying or an issue. There was a good amount of parking, rooms were clean. The pillows are half size I assume they're stuffed into a smaller size because they're beat as well. The first floor bathroom is out of order and so is the guest laundry machines. This place is a proper dump. The deadbolt lock to our door of our room (202) wouldn't work. When we reported it, no action was taken. With the exception of the water saving toilet, 202 was very dated, musty and just plain nasty. It seems that this place was purchased years ago and funds haven't been put aside for occasional renovations. The phone's message light flashed red for no apparent reason and the person working the front desk advised that I just cover it with a towel or something. Light's flickered off and on in the corridors of the stair well, the lobby smells like chlorine while it is rare to actually see someone attending the front desk at night. read more

Horrible! The check in process was horrible the little Indian man could barely speak English. He took my card and kept saying it was declined but each time it was coming out of my bank account. Then "Magically" it worked. He gave us our room keys and we went to them. My room was disgusting. It smelled like wet dog! The TV would not turn on. There was no fridge. So we went back to the desk to tell him and he argued with us about the smell and TV and didn't want to give us another room. When he finally gave us a new room. The TV literally wouldn't turn to any other channels. It was stuck on CMT! The remote didn't work for power or volume or channels. The freezer in the fridge didn't work. There was dried blood on the tissue box. The pool was over chlorinated. Just opening the door took my breath away. The water was cloudy. I don't recommend this place at all! This should be renamed "The Uncomfortable Inn". If you love the smell of mold, dirty floors, peeling walls with torn up counter tops, this is your place! I should have known when I pulled up and saw the tattered awnings. No room cleaning or customer service. Signs posted that says, "Pardon the inconvenience. We are remodeling". There is NO REMODELING. This hotel deserve less than a ZERO. We were showed three (3) different rooms and ALLLL had mold. Not only were we not given a refund but also refused to accommodate our family with small children. This place was awful. We got into our room and the floors were dirty, 2 out of 4 lamps had light bulbs in them, the pillows smelled bad and the bottom of the shower was dirty. When we checked out, I informed the person at the desk about the issues and asked for a discount. He said that he would have to ask the manager when they came in. This Comfort Inn location is 6 miles from King's Dominion. It's perfect because it's not too close, yet not too far from KD. Believe me, when everyone is exiting from KD, after the park is close, you don't want to be stuck in traffic forever. So, 6 miles is tolerable. The hotel itself is nice, with Waffle House as its neighbor. The room that I had was a suite, filled with a microwave, a coffeemaker and a dorm-sized refrigerator. There was a little family room at one end of the room. The best part...the a/c was friggin' cold! The best thing about it all was the indoor swimming pool. It's not an impressive size but enough for kids to play and for you to do a few laps...if you're in the mood. The only thing that I didn't like about this inn was their breakfast bar. Their breakfast room is small. So, the bar is with the food cramped together. Literally, only 1 person can be at the bar at a time. And there's like only 4 or 5 tables in the room. Uhm...3 floors of rooms and 5 tables? Obviously, someone who designed this hotel wasn't very good at math. Well, I think that's where Waffle House gets their business. From those who are not satified with the breakfast bar at Comfort Inn. Anyways, nice little hotel that's situated reasonably from King's Dominion. read more

I'm writing this review right now at the motel. There's not much else to do in the area. But we're really here just to rest. After about 10 hours of driving from Boston including stops and traffic, we ended up here. There's a slew of other motels nearby, but we were too tired to check the other places for prices, at least I was too tired. The Waffle House is literally a 2 minute walk next door. That's where we ended up dining as well. Very nice people working in there. We ended up eating the last of their two T-bone steaks. So what did we get for $75 plus taxes? - free wireless internet - a small gym - a pool with no water to swim in - free continental breakfast - the rest of the standard stuff (iron, tv, coffee maker, etc.) One more thing. I've been to several motels where they have placed a mirror on the wall over the toilet. It always made me awkward to pee and look at myself at the same time. We were driving from Delaware down to Savannah, Georgia. We had a late start so we were just looking for a hotel to crash at at about 1 a.m. This hotel was right off the highway. We were both so pleasantly surprised at how clean, nice and overall just had a really great experience there. They have a breakfast which included eggs, sausage, cereal, waffles, and lots of other options. The bed was super comfortable and the room was very very clean. We were driving from GA to NY and needed a place to crash midway. With a tired driver and a cranky puppy in tow, we had to just take an exit and wing it. I quickly reviewed the options within a 5 mile radius, and somehow concluded that this Comfort Inn would be best. WHAT WAS I THINKING!? Front desk agent was actually very pleasant, no problems there, but that is the only positive thing to note about the place. Our room was right next to the pool, and I kid you not, the noise was so loud it felt like we were swimming in the deep end. The bed was damp to the touch, I literally mean that when I put my hand on the bed, my hand became wet. There was (what appeared to be) blood stains on the towels. There was hair under the fitted sheet when I went to do my bed bug test, ( which passed, surprisingly). The best part, however, was the complimentary high we got from the hot box party outside our room!!! I am a recent college grad, and I have YET to encounter such a strong marijuana smell. This place was so nasty that I didn't even want my dog walking around barefoot in it. I never thought I would be so excited to continue a 14 hour drive than I was the following morning. Possibly the most disgusting hotel room I have ever stayed at. And I've been to New Orleans during a Super Bowl and Daytona during biker week. The room smelled like mold. Good thing because mold was growing over the bed on the wood. Something stained the couch that I could not identify but can guess. The coffee table raised off the ground from stickiness when I sat on it and tried to get up because I was afraid of the bed. And lastly the tub was covered in mold. I complained and was given another room. Guess what? It smelled MORE moldy than the first. Didn't check the bathroom because the dead bugs and stains on the carpet cemented my decision to leave. Another couple had the exact same situation so it is not isolated. Good luck to those who venture here. You are braver than me. Terrific value! My brother and I stayed here for one night on a weeknight in March 2019. We are senior citizens and tourists. We liked the hotel very much and would stay here again. The room is nicely decorated with an attractive, modern bathroom. The TV was small. The hotel lobby was pleasant and modern and the entire hotel is almost brand-new. The free breakfast was better than average, considering the price range. I paid $67 plus tax (AAA rate) - a great value! The elevator was down for repairs, or else I would give a 5 star review for this motel. The pool is outdoors so it was not available in March. The hotel is adjacent to Waffle House restaurant. Alright, So I actually live in the area about 10 minutes from this hotel. I've grew up here and actually stayed at this hotel a couple times due to weather. This is honestly the best hotel we have on the Carmel Church exit. I know sad, but I know it might not be a Hilton or Hampton Inn but I much rather stay here than any of the other hotels in the area. Those are the scary ones. This is the only hotel i've stayed in just because we had no choice. Now if you take the Thronsburg exit there is a Best Western I stayed there for my birthday and it's very nice. So if you need a place to crash and don't feel like you can make it one more exit this is the best bet, it's fairly "updated" i guess. Also take in to consideration, a lot of people in this area live in these hotels so yes if you're room isn't clean enough it's probably because someone has stayed more than one night in that particular room. So long story short either take the next exit or try you're luck with the Comfort Inn. Just trust me you don't wanna test you're luck with any of the other ones around here. read more

This hotels entrance may seem dark and like it's in a weird spot but that's probably the only con. Stopped here for the night on our way back home down south. Perfect place to stop, the staff was wonderful, the room and bathrooms were very clean. One of the softest pillows I've ever slept on. Breakfast was delicious, wish they had scrambled eggs instead of the way they were made that day. But still, everything else was great. DO NOT STAY HERE! -I got stranded in an ice storm here so I had no choice in the matter, but go to ANY other hotel in the area. The first thing they make you do is fill out a form giving all of your personal info (name, address phone number....and credit card info) on a piece of paper. You do this despite the fact that they have a computer. I asked for it back, and the front desk manager said I could have it when I checked out. I also asked for a government rate which I was assured I was charged (I wasn't). -There is NO hot water. -You have to flush the toilet at least 3 times for it to actually flush. -It is obvious that they did a remodel on the cheap, so everything seemed very slopply painted/the shower tiles were scraped (as if they cheaped out and bought damaged materials bc it was cheaper). The tub also had a nasty mystery stain on it. -You get like 10 channels and the sound on the TV sucked. -It was by Waffle House, that was the only plus. -So I went to go check out, the same guy from the day before was at the desk. He was on the phone with yet another irrate customer whom he REFUSED to give his name to. I told him I wanted to check out, he just goes "yes, you are fine" (I didn't get a receipt under my door or anything). I told him I wanted a receipt. He printed it out, it had all the personal information on it that I had to hand write onto a piece of paper. I then requested that he give back the paper like he promised to do. He refused...his reason? "I'm required to keep this for the police". I challenged that, pointing out that he has computer records if the police needed them. He then took my paper out and drew a couple diagonal lines through my credit card number (apparently if you do that, it means no one will attempt to use the still visible credit card number!). I pointed out that that did nothing, he then offered to "make me a photocopy"....still not sure what that was supposed to do for me. He then proceeded to pull out a large bundle of these forms to demonstrate that "they keep everyone's"......stilllll not sure how that is comforting....we went back and forth for a while, with him pulling out lamer and lamer excuses for his shadiness....bottom line, if you stay here, be sure to monitor your credit card activity afterwards and enjoy your cold shower. read more

If I could give this hotel zero stars I would! When we (my family and I) checked in we were given keys to a room that was already occupied. As if that wasn't annoying enough, when we finally got the keys to an empty room, the inside temperature was over 85 degrees; AC was obviously not working. We called down to the front desk and in between the time we were waiting for the front desk clerk to come troubleshoot the AC, we noticed multiple stains and dried up crusty material all over the bedsheets. So when the front desk clerk arrived, we told him we were leaving due to the conditions of the room and he rudely interrupted my husband and said "if you want a refund just come downstairs now"....NEVER even offered an apology. My husband had to convince him to LOOK at the filthy beds! The hotels.com reviews weren't bad....but I wish I would have read the other yelp reviews because I would have saved myself and my family this huge waste of time. read more

First thing I do when I stay at any hotel is check the sheets and the reason I do this is because if I didn't I would've been sleeping in dirty sheets! Crumbs on over 3 spots when I pulled sheets back. I called front desk and he did offer me a new room but I denied and just asked for clean sheets. Went downstairs to pick them up and tried to show him the video (screenshots of videos posted) and he didn't care to see it. He also then tried to argue with me telling he gave me enough sheets for both beds as he did not. Anyways. Time to take shower. In the shower there was old soap all over and hair. Hair on counter and sink was not clean. Toilet was not clean along with the floor! I am baffled at how they call beds made and lines on floor a CLEAN ROOM! If this room were to be clean this hotel would've at least gotten a 4 star rating but IMO cleanliness is EVERYTHING!!! read more

Ok. So I found this hotel one night and almost didn't stay because of the rating. How wrong they are. 1st lets start with a very friendly staff. Always accommodating and friendly. 2 For the price you can't beat this place. I'm afraid to tell the management because I don't want them to raise the price. All of the rooms I have stayed in have either been completely remodeled or partially. This place is a work in progress but they are making progress leaps and bounds. Truly a great hotel at a great value. Please people, if you stay please rate them. We need to support the honest business person that is doing right by the public. GREAT JOB!!!!!!! read more

There was a HORRENDOUS tornado while we were driving so we pulled over as fast as we could and we find this hidden treasure - the Comfort Inn! The system was down but we were able to book a fabulous room anyway and it had everything we could have ever wanted! It was a very comforting stay at the Comfort Inn, even including the FREE breakfast which may have been lacking slightly but HEY, we weren't hungry anyway! 10/10 would recommend to a friend! read more
