Upon inspection I discovered the shower floor was dirty as well as the carpet annnnddddd there are still currently Semen stains on the walls ( I have attached pictures below) I called the front desk that following morning to explain and he says the cleaners are coming, when she came she did not clean the wall and after she cleaned the bathroom the shower floor is still dark with dirt. The towel also had dark spots smh. The only thing people ask for when booking a room is for it to be CLEAN.

The ac/heater was caked with dust and dirt. I was not supplied with a receipt or paperwork when I arrived. To add insult to injury, I was charged 77 dollars for the night. Again, not supplying me with a break down of charges and the fact they are advertising 30 something dollars online. When asked about the receipt or record of my stay I was misdirected and told the machine did not work. Even though they had a credit card machine mounted on the desk, they kept my credit card and ID behind the desk for a prolonged amount of time, again stating the credit card machine did not work, even though it was on and they made place my card inside of it. They kept insisting I was traveling with a dog, that they watched me on their camera handling a dog. Nice to know they invest in cameras to spy on guests but do not invest in cleaning supplies or upkeep of the premises. I can 100% guarantee I do not own a dog and was not traveling with a dog nor did I interact with a dog while on their property. I did notice someone check in after me walking a dog, I wonder if they added HIS dog to my room rate because they arrogantly claimed to be watching us outside with cameras? Creepy! I wouldn't know because again, they refused to supply a receipt. Paper or email. I think they knew they were setting me up for a horror show and wanted to make it as hard as possible to make a complaint or argue the charges. I was traveling from Long Island to Florida and pulled over for the night with my 16 year old daughter. It was a total fail. Not only did we not get any rest but after we left we started itching something terrible. We had to be treated for a parasite infection (photos attached)when we arrived in Florida. I called corporate and was told this was an independently managed location and they threw a few thousand points at me to try and fix the situation. I told them that was a nice gesture , however, the main reason for the call was to have someone look into this place. I hope they keep their promise to investigate this location. This business is a trap, it takes advantage of tired weary travelers along 95 expecting to receive the benefit of a national brand. There is nothing quality about this place. I see they do not take criticism of their lack of upkeep or cleanliness seriously, insulting and arguing with negative feedback instead of listening and fixing the problem. It's easier to blame the customer than look in the mirror. I usually do not take time out of my day to call or write complaints but this hotel crossed a line so far in my mind, I need to warn the world about them. If I can save one person from this experience, it was worth my time.

They moved me to a room that did not have a locking door. (It was broken, it wasn't set right, but the manager said to me, "it was fine earlier" which was impossible). They moved me to a room with exposed electrical wires, a door that technically locked but was still not set right and didn't feel safe, no working wifi, no seat to use at the desk, no cups even for a drink of water or coffee, no towels, a non-working room phone, The lobby was cluttered, messy, dark, dingy. I realize this was a low budget hotel, at a promotional price so I didn't have high expectations but I did expect basic cleanliness, safety and not to be bombarded by noise and fumes.

The sink had been cracked in about 5 pieces and like plastered back togther. No wifi, hardly any cable channels, no microwave. The bedspreads looked like they were from the 70s. They werent hard to find, upon lifting the matress from the boxspring they were just sitting there. Ugh I am so disgusted still. Be on the look out, for as soon as you exit 95 the Holiday Inn is on the right, but BEHIND the shell and quality in. Very hidden. Check in was easy, make sure to bring your triple A card if you have it, or an AARP card if your of age. Price fluctuates (depends on season) but reasonable. When I stay at a hotel, I look for three things: a CLEAN room, friendly staff, and continental HOT breakfast haha. Both were delivered here at the Holiday Inn Express. My bed was comfy with huge fluffy pillows. The room was clean. Bathroom clean, etc. The hot breakfast included eggs, cheese omelettes, biscuits, and bacon. You could also make yourself a waffle or indulge in a cinnamon bun. Bagels, toast, etc., were also provided, as well as cereal and yogurt. The coffee was fresh, and they had a variety of roasts, which was nice. You also had your standard creamer, and a "peppermint creamer" my Dad whom accompanied me on the trip was in love with! ha! The staff was very friendly here. I wish I got her name, but I checked in about 7pm and the young woman was very friendly. There was a problem with our TV, we kept getting "no signal" (it was direct TV) and she came up herself to fix it. No problem. Later on, when I wanted to talk on the phone but let my Dad sit back and relax and watch some TV, I went downstairs and asked if I could sit in little lobby across from the check in desk. She turned on the lights for me in the big breakfast room, put on the TV, and told me to make myself at home. I've stayed at many hotels and no one has ever gone out of their way like that for my connivence. I appreciated it greatly. I talk a lot and I'm loud, so I didn't want to bother guests checking in and out, nor my Dad upstairs trying to watch TV. There isn't much around the hotel, but I did eat at a very good Mexican Restaurant within a minute drive called Poco Loco. Fresh food. Good service. Alcohol and non alcoholic beverages. Nice place to eat considering there was not much around. Other advantages, this hotel is right off of 95 and of course there is a gas station nearby haha. Gym and pool and free wifi. All the gym equipment worked, I didn't go in the pool since I'm not a fan of public pools, but it looked clean to me. Gym was clean as well. My only nit pick is I don't like direct TV. The fact that the TV didn't work was a little bothersome when we checked in, but it was easily resolved. I, however, personally don't like direct TV. I can never figure out how to use it. I wanted to watch the olympics and I couldn't find NBC!!! LOL! I probably sound silly since I'm unfamiliar with direct TV, but that's the only thing I didn't like. Besides that, great stay. I'd come back if in the area.
