So it would take several minutes to fill up a tall glass of water. Same situation with the bathtub - just a trickle of cold water mixed with a somewhat stronger stream of hot water. So filling the tub 1/3rd full took a long time. Worst of all they fooled me on the room price: I booked online for a Sunday night stay, Oct. 4 for $61.01 including tax. I stayed two more nights in the same room (#302) and was charged $61.01 for the second night, Monday, Oct. 5 and a shocking $122.04 for the third night, Tuesday, Oct. 6 Staff did not notify the price for Tuesday night would double !! But staff had my credit card on file so went ahead a charged it. There were no special events in town and $122 is above the Tuesday night price of much fancier nearby motels such as the Comfort Inn. I feel ripped off by Super 8 / Wyndham.

We stayed in a suite - 2 queen beds as well as a sofa bed. It was such a large room; perfect for our family! The sink was separate from the bathroom, and there was a second sink in the kitchen area. The kitchen area had a mini fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. There were plenty of places for everyone's phone/watch chargers. Everything was clean. A/C was cold. We did have to ask for a few more washcloths and towels, since we were 5 people, but the front desk took care of it. The hotel seemed quite full (we saw at least two high school teams there), yet we did not hear lots of noise, and had no problems getting a good night's sleep. Breakfast is included in your stay. Even with the two large groups staying at the same time as us, the breakfast was refilled often, so we were still able to enjoy all the choices available. There was bacon, omelets, toast, muffins, bagels, scones, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, waffles, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, and water. The breakfast attendant did a great job. This was a great stay after a full day of driving! I would highly recommend staying here.

Was going to use plugin for coffee maker where refrigerator and microwave are BUT THISE PLUGS ARE COVERED UP. Refrigerator was barely cool when arrived. Refrigerator is located in a locked door cabinet. So who designed a lock door cabinet for a refrigerator that gets no air. So refrigerator quits working til I got to room and left cabinet door open and refrigerator, after 3 hours finally kept my drinks nice and cold. Not happy at all.

He was desperately trying to make it to Plano, TX before his mom died. She had colon cancer and was on her deathbed. The bus , unfortunately was stranded overnight and guests were sent to your hotel. We called the front desk and spoke with Kathy Hernandez. She told us she was very busy and to call back in 20 minutes and she could help us. My niece called three times and was at last told by Kathy that she was wasting her time. Kathy said she was far too busy and my niece was simply wasting her time. I was furious so I called back to ask for a manager. Kathy said there would not be one available until the following morning. I told her my sister would probably be dead by then and that we desperately wanted her son to be able to say goodbye. Kathy said to call in the morning and talk to a manager. I begged her to please have compassion, what if it was her mother?? She hung up the phone on me. Zero compassion, no caring what so ever. She is a cruel person and I wanted to make sure you got this in writing for your records. My sister died that night. Her son did not get a chance to say goodbye. Five minutes of Kathy's precious time would have given him the ability to tell his mom one last time that he loved her.

While the town of Big Spring isn't much to look at, this hotel has been resurrected from the dead and made to shine brighter than ever. Despite the age, the elevators weren't worrying at all, and the woman at the front desk recommended a high floor to us for the view. I'm glad she did because it really was beautiful to watch the sun set across the vast flatness of Texas from the 11th floor. Before I get to the room, I have to shoutout how beautiful the lobby is. Grand staircase, beautiful decor, an antique car, informative history on the walls, AND an amazing bar and a great restaurant on site too. It's awesome, and my friend and I were both impressed by the drinks we got with dinner. We were all very satisfied with our dinners and the portions were generous. Customer service was also top notch in every aspect, and that's definitely not just because they gave us a delicious homemade chocolate chip cookie (omg so good). Now to get to the hotel room... first of all, it was HUGE! Probably the biggest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Two big beds with a generous amount of space around them, a full coffee bar at the entrance to the room, a big walk-in closet space, a vanity, and a huge bathroom that had a soaking tub AND a spacious shower stall. Honestly, we were stunned by the size of the room and that was only capped off by the comfort of the beds. After road tripping across Texas all day, these were absolutely magical. We'd wanted to stay in unique places on this road trip and I'm so glad we did because Hotel Settles isn't just beautiful, it's also comfortable and very luxurious in the accommodations and food / drink options on site! That said, their prices are ridiculous since they can charge whatever they want and the fact that since Midland's oil boom, they have an overflow people staying there while working. In the first room we had, the air would not get lower than 80 something and the mini-refrigerator didn't work and had water standing in the bottom of it. Second room (thank God!) had a good A/C and working fridge. When I asked the front desk about speaking to the manager (concerning the first room), I was told that he was in India and that the maintenance person did not live in Lamesa. Really? The person that provides maintenance for when something is broken doesn't even live here!??! Both vending machines on the 2nd and 3rd floor were inoperable and when I went out one morning around 7:00 and tried to come back in, the sliding door wouldn't open, even when I used my key card. The lady at the front desk couldn't even get the door to open!!!! The only reason that I finally got back in was due to me summoning some youngsters through the glass to pull the glass doors apart!
