From the photos online you could not tell that it was smack dab in the middle of the major hospitals. With that said, it was very easy to get to from the airport and very clean. My suite had a queen size bed, a pull out sofa bed, and a desk. It included breakfast every morning but if you know anything about me, I am a coffee & a scone kinda girl. This hotel was so disgusting! The lady at check in was rude and was snacking on food at the counter. The room had a terrible scent. I requested a new room, which was "not available!" The breakfast was mediocre but was filled with the staff family members who were eating. I know this because the adults were addressing the lady as auntie. We will never be back!!! The manager would not listen to me or even note that I had a request to move rooms. Her name was Elizbeth. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!! We moved down the street to another nicer hotel. read more

Our room had bed bugs in the mattress. Luckily (unluckily?) I've had run ins with those things before, so the first thing I do when arriving in a new hotel room is check all around the bed and mattress. I first noticed some of the telltale black stains they leave behind. Then I poked at what at first appeared to be a larger stain, at which point it began scurrying around. That's when we decided we wouldn't be staying. The woman at the front desk (Grace) was wonderful and understanding, she immediately granted us a full refund and let us walk away. I only post this so future guests can protect themselves; if you decide to stay here, be sure to check the mattress in your room carefully (this was room 322). If one of these things hops a ride back to your home, you'll be in for a bad time trying to get rid of them. I also hope that the management will take this seriously. I sympathize with them: I'm not even sure how you can keep a hotel from getting infested with these things nowadays, and dealing with it after the fact is incredibly expensive, but they definitely need to try. read more

Why 4 stars? Because the hotel was okay but the customer service was a life saver. --- --- --- This hotel was one of the more outdated hotels I've stayed at in a while. It definitely felt much more like 1998 than 2018. But it's clearly being updated, as one of the halls was blocked off by the type of plastic you'd see in Dexter. From what I could see beyond the plastic looked like a war zone, so it seems like they are virtually knocking everything down and starting from scratch. Good call. My experience here was fine, outside of the out-datedness. But where I was super grateful was the level of customer service. I booked this room with a non-refundable rate. Soon after, I booked another Comfort Suites in another city with a refundable rate, because I wasn't sure if I would actually be making that trip. It turns out, I had to cancel that trip after all. So I went onto hotels.com and canceled my Comfort Suites booking, and that was that. Except I canceled the Comfort Suites in Orlando, not the Cleveland property that I meant to cancel. UGH. I called hotels.com and they said that it was out of their hands and totally up to the hotel. The hotel could have easily taken my non-refundable money and called it a day. But within about 24 hours, I was notified that I would be receiving a full refund. Amazing! As soon as that happened, I quickly re-booked my initial reservation, so everybody wins! I am really appreciative of them doing that, even when they did not have to. I like when logic wins over law. I definitely will not forget about this when I'm booking hotels in the future. read more

There aren't any critters and seeing as I am here because I have family in the hospital at advent health across the street it's perfect. It's a little pricey for the room I think but it's probably because they know most of the people that will stay here are visiting family or workers at the hospital. I've stayed here at least a handful of times now, since I travel here for work often. If it weren't for the location, I'd stay elsewhere because I do prefer more modern updated hotels, but the hotel is right on N Orange, so you can't beat it. It's directly across from the hospital and you're right next to Downtown, a few minutes from College Park and Winter Park. The hotel interior is dated.. really needs a face lift (see the photos). Nonetheless, I feel safe here, love the location, and keep coming back. At night, they lock the doors so you can't ever without a key, unless you go to the front and ring for checkin (I like that extra safety). The parking lot is very large, and it's the only hotel with a great location in the area that doesn't charge you to self-park ($$), or force you to valet ($$$). There is no valet here, but there's plenty of parking and they don't charge you for it. The complimentary breakfast (6:30-9:30) I usually skip or grab something simple right as I head out. It's a pretty big spread though, from hot items (eggs, potatoes, etc) and a waffle station, to cereals, breads and pastries, to fresh fruit, yogurt and hard boiled eggs, and of course coffee and other drinks. There's a Panera across the street if you sleep in, and a Wendy's next door, both which are very convenient to walk to. The amenities here are nice as well. All rooms have a fridge, a microwave, coffee machine, and a pull out sofa.. It's always nice to have a good size fridge in the room when staying for a few days so you can have leftovers, or just keep drinks in there. I really wish they had at least a set of updated rooms you could pay extra for; I'd be willing to pay. All-in-all in comparison to other local hotels, I find this one to be the best value, location, and the best overall option for me.. I finally joined the Choice Hotels program since I've been staying here at least a few days each month (too bad I couldn't add the stays I'd previously had). We were surprised by how large the room was. It was both spacious and comfy. We stayed in room 314, and the bathroom lights were constantly flickering. A very nice staff. From cleaning crew to the front desk workers, everyone was pleasant and made small talk. Bless the woman at the front desk, who was very patient and helpful when it came to the hospital shuttle. Sadly, it seems that the building is not kept in very good condition. The elevator is bouncy (not the fun kind) and groans like it's about to fall down the shaft. Also found mold growing in the bathroom. Decent experience for the price. Clean rooms, clean tubs, hot water that gets hot, clean pool and hot tub. Pool chairs and tables are clean and nice, efficient housekeepers and they are friendly. I tipped the housekeepers that helped me when I asked. The front desk staff Raymond & Donna were very nice and informative as I shared I was moving to the area. Helpful with extending my room stay every time I went to the desk. The pool area is clean and welcoming. Open 9am to 9pm. Key card entry to rooms and the back entry door. Quiet building, you rarely hear anything. Maybe a person talking if they pass your door but it isn't much. Staff is not loud. They have refreshing cold lemon water every afternoon in the lobby. The tv in the room is huge and has remote. You have light lamps all over the room with outlets I. Them and easy switches. So you aren't in a dim room. The curtains close on the inside for privacy. Nice wooden coffee table and desk with comfy desk chair. The mini fridge is sufficient if you want to buy a few cold groceries and drinks. Also you have a microwave that works well. House keeping will take extra trash in bags tied up if you ask kindly. Can get clean towels and sheets if you ask if you don't want the housekeepers in your room. They always offer to come and clean. Check out is at 12pm noon. Parking is FREE! nice parking lot no problems there clean parking lot also. No problem finding the place. Me and my girlfriend stayed here from a Friday night to Monday morning for a wedding in December. This is pretty much your standard comfort suites hotel that looks like pretty much every other hotel of its kind. No real personality. Beds were comfortable, pool was nice. But the service here really falls short. On Saturday morning we were woken up at 7 am by a phone call. I picked it up and there was no one on the line. I thought this was just a fluke so I didn't think about it much for the rest of the day. But the next Morning, we received another phone call just like this at 7 am again. This phone call was especially upsetting because we were out late on a Saturday night spending time with friends and family who we rarely see. Getting woken up after only a few hours of sleep by these phone calls is ridiculous. And a hotel that charged us $150 plus a night should be doing MUCH better. After receiving this 2nd weird phone call, I spoke to someone at the front desk face to face. I assumed that this was some sort of wake up call that we didn't ask for. The woman at the desk who we talked to was not very helpful at all. She actually gave off the impression that me and my girlfriend were imagining these phone calls and really didn't seem to take our complaint seriously. She said no wake up calls were scheduled. She also suggested that this may have been something the wedding party set up, which seemed like a bazaar suggestion considering I was a part of that wedding group, and everyone else who I spoke to that evening weren't getting these phone calls. So why would the front desk staff suggest this? She really didn't offer us any solution to this problem. Later that night I spoke to another person at the front desk named Romello. He was an extremely nice guy and offered to turn off all calls to our room. We also asked if we'd be able to have a late checkout on Monday morning, and without any hesitation he offered us a 1 pm checkout. Awesome. But for the 3rd morning in a row, at 7 am on the nose, the phone starts ringing again. And to make matters worse, we got a knock on our door at 11:30 am from hotel staff asking when we were checking out. So the 1 pm checkout offered the night before must not have been communicated properly. In the future, I will definitely be avoiding comfort suites, and any similar hotels unless it's a last resort situation. I have never had problems like this in any Air'Bnb or any hotel for that matter. read more

I stayed there twice in the last few months while my husband was in the nearby hospital. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the attendant in the breakfast room even offered to make my waffle! I felt very safe there as an elderly woman traveling alone. The hospital provides free on-call shuttle service, which was immensely helpful. And best of all, the hotel offers a special rate for people who have family members hospitalized. read more

Heartless treatment by management We stayed in this hotel over one month while my dad has been in hospital. We always paid any bills immediately, we kept our room clean, didn't make a lot of noise and were otherwise very respectful guests. As my dad's health was fluctuating and it was hard to know how he'd be in coming weeks, we would extend our hotel week to week. For the last several weeks, when we went to extend it, they already had extended it for us, knowing the serious predicament we are in. Now, when my dad's health is at a critical state and he is in and out of the ICU, we find out we are being EVICTED today. Despite telling several different front desk managers and employees that we intended to keep staying, we were very rudely told by Denise (their manager in training) that they overbooked... so we have just an hour or two now to pack up 2 months worth of luggage, food, essentials, etc. Even though my dad is in the ER and ICU and is fighting for his life, instead of being by our side, we have to now scramble to try to find somewhere to even stay. This has been such a horrible way to end such a committed stay. After spending thousands on this hotel, it sounds like we're being thrown in the street with the waste. I am writing this review so hopefully Comfort Suites can get rid of toxic employees like Denise and this never happens again to anyone. I hope they never experience the pain and trauma of a loved one going through cancer- this is truly one of our worst days. read more

If you are looking for an affordable and convenient place for a quick stay, I'd say to give this place a shot. It was close, cheap and easy to get to from I-4. Huge bonus that they have their own parking lot, so no extra valet fees. We walked in and the place is dated... but service was nice and the lobby looked and smelled clean. Our room, on the other hand, gave us whiffs of a smoking room past... but it wasn't overwhelming. Maybe a bit of dog too, but a spray of cologne took care of most of it, and we weren't in there too long anyway. They have free wifi with decent speed, so you can get some work done. Bathroom and sheets were clean, bed was pretty comfortable, and the shower stayed hot. There's a mini-fridge and microwave, and a single serve coffee maker with crappy joe. The free continental breakfast smelled pretty good, but we passed. And if you happened to forget something, they have a vending machine with various toiletries... and Wendy's, Panera and 7-11 close by too. It ain't fancy, but it did just fine, and I'd totally stay here again. read more

Was in town overnight for work. The hotel is fine, really, just not great. The staff were to a person terrific, but the facility itself, particularly the furniture in the room and things like door handles to the bathroom, were showing their age. My ironing board was janky and as a result had a funky lean to it, and the iron was not great, but both worked. In fact, everything still worked and all, but everything had a rough around the edges vibe. I got a great rate, and it was just overnight so I was fine. If I was going to be there for a longer stay, it would be a bit more of a bummer. read more

I actually loved this Comfort Inn. I had a concert to attend in Orlando and the hotel was not that far from downtown. It was very clean and comfortable and in an area of town that was so nice. The old railroad station had been down the street so it had been a busy area in the past. It is busy right now too. Lots of restaurants and little shops. A lovely little park with a nice pond. I loved it. This will be my go to hotel in the future. Having a Wendy's next door was a nice thing too. read more

We used to love this hotel until our car was broken into in the parking lot and we learned that less than one month ago 14 cars were broken into and they have done nothing to boast security. Watch the neighborhood. Their response was Sorry but be sure you check out by 2:30. We were planning to leave at 8 am to make the long drive home but the broken window had to be fixed first. The glass company said they couldn't be there until 1:00-5:00. Thank God they got there at 10am. read more

Unsafe and unfair pricing. When a faulty heater in our room started smoking and set off the fire alarm in the middle of the night, we were moved to a new room due to the obvious unsafe environment. It was super scary, thank God we woke up or it might have caught fire with my children in the bed right next to it. When we checked out in the morning, we discovered we were charged a higher amount for the room difference. Most establishments would knock off a little if their room almost caught on fire and smoked at midnight, causing you to have to move rooms with your sleeping children in the middle of the night. Not this place. Management was unconcerned and unhelpful. In fact, management is trying to say it was "due to dust on the heater because the heater in the room had not been used in awhile". This is completely false, there was visible smoke, the smoke alarm went off, and you could see heat damage inside the heater. Hopefully for future guests, management actually FIXES the heater instead of brushing it off like they are in review responses. Would not recommend this facility due to safety issues and pricing practices. read more

I haven't even checked in yet, but I'm already dreading it. My experience with two different front desk agents, several months apart were both dreadful. The front desk agent is the face of the hotel, and should know how their interactions with guests reflect on the reputation of the entire company. I received conflicting information, and the worst attitude I've ever encountered from a front desk rep. It is painfully obvious that they don't take their job, or the company very seriously. If anyone from the hotel ever gets around to reading this: I think some re-training is definitely in order! We chose this hotel based upon its close proximity to the Winter Park area and the decent group rate we received. Perks include a daily complimentary continental breakfast, free and ample parking, fitness center, and large guest rooms with microwaves and mini fridges. Our room was clean, however our bath tub was slightly stained and the toilet paper holders were extremely annoying to use. You really need a car when staying at this hotel since there isn't much around as far as food, attractions, and shopping. Stayed here the Friday before Independence Day and have to say it was a nice place. Not close to the parks. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room clean and comfortable. Our room was across from the laundry room and near an exit, but I heard little noise or distractions. Good a good night sleep. The complimentary breakfast was better than many other hotels we've stayed at an ample tables. We didn't have the opportunity to use the pool. If I had to find something wrong, it would two things: the front desk clerk should not have said our room number out loud for other guests to hear (Hospitality 101) and the parking lot was small and if one parked in the Wendy's parking lot they could get towed. read more

My husband and I stayed here for the Capital One Bowl over NYE weekend Jan 2011. The plague at the front desk boasts that the hotel was featured on Undercover Boss, but I think the CEO needs to visit this place again. Our King room had a broken lampshade. When I pulled down the blankets on the bed one blanket was completely covered in human hair. I can handle a couple of strands of hair, but this was covered! Disgustingly unclean. The room and bathroom were large and they had several breakfast options. We had friends staying in another room and they didn't have any complaints. The room definitely cost more than I would ever pay for the quality of the hotel, but since it was during a Bowl game and NYE, I'm sure the prices were jacked up. Also, I didn't complain about the room because it was late at night by the time I saw all the hair on the blanket and we just wanted to get some sleep, so I can't comment on how the hotel may have responded. read more

I made a reservation online at this hotel and my money was put on hold. When I checked in they took my card and charged it again. Hence, I was charged again for a total of $312 dollars instead of $156 dollars. When I called the customer service they said that was the policy to ensure there were sufficient funds in my account. I have traveled all over the world and never heard of such nonsense! Now I am out $156 dollars until they release my money! Also, my nephew used the sofa bed, which was so thin and old, that he might as well been sleeping on the bars, the springs of the bed and now he has a bad back. I will never ever go to comfort suites and will advise all my friends to do the same. read more

Very enjoyable place to stay. Why? Price was low ($110 per night) especially compared with Courtyard on Magnolia. Parking easy and free. Free Breakfast was very good. Variety, fresh, tasty Easy to get to I4, downtown or Winter Park. Next to Florida Hospital and the staff knows many are family with sick folks. Very nice front desk and housekeeping staff. Checkout at noon a plus, Wendy's and Panera's right next door (get the Panera's app and your order will be on the pickup area). Xbox setup for my son was easy (open access rather than in TV cabinet). Con-WiFi, while dependible it was slow (upload and download 2 to 3, my T mobile Hotspot was 20 down and 12 up). Maybe all hotels are slow. I don't know. read more
