Took the G-babies on a girls trip to the zoo for their spring break. Decided to spend the night at Springhill Suites in Sanford, Florida. Checked in to a double queen suite. The room was on the fifth floor by request (the Gs love riding elevators). Walking into the room and found it to be spacious, clean, and inviting. This room had two queen beds and a queen pullout sofa. It had a kitchenette area with a desk and comfortable chair. The couch/sofa bed had s double side table to serve as a table. The TV is shared between the bed area and the sofa area. There is a large picture window at the back of the room. The window is double pane, but needs to be replaced because of the condensation that is forever in between. This made it a little difficult to see out. However, it did not stop the beautiful sun from beaming in in the morning which I loved. You are able to log into your own Netflix and such and it automatically logs you out upon check out. I logged myself out though. This is free of charge, so it was great for the grands to be able to watch their program after bath time. There is a shower/tub with a commode on one side where you can close the door and a separate vanity sink on the outside. While I loved this room, I had two issues with it. One, there were only enough towels for two people which although does not make sense for a room that can sleep 3 to six people it can be easily remedied. And two, they did not tell us that people woukd be working on the building in the morning when we checked in. So imagine my surprise when I looked up while standing in my bra and panties and saw a worker on a lift painting outside my 5th floor window! Of course I shut the curtains immediately, but not before traumatizing the poor worker! I have an issue with someone being able to peek in where my grands are sleeping. If I had known I would have shut the curtains the night before, but who expects anyone to be by their window on the fifth floor! Breakfast was delicious and my grands really enjoyed the choices. Overall, I will stay there again, but will most definitely inquire about any work that may be going on! read more

Stayed here for a quick overnight during the week. I really enjoyed my experience at this hotel. From checking in at the front desk Vermetra was so pleasant and friendly, doing well to recognize my Marriott status. She was a delight!! Such a great 1st impression. The hotel lobby was clean, pleasant and fresh. They have a nice breakfast area and a small fitness center. There is a well kept pool deck and clean pool! The room itself was very clean, I didn't notice any major defects. Of course the hotel is aged, but I kind of like that. The room gives you a sense of warmth, coziness, and some character. New modern rooms sometimes can feel so cold. I don't mind the older style! The bathroom was clean with ample towels. AC worked well as did the TV. The bed was clean and fresh. Highly recommend this hotel if you need a quick or long stay in Sanford! Close to i4 and lots of nearby restaurants. read more

I know that Marriots can be hit or miss based on age, but not a fan. The exterior looked nice and upgraded but the rooms were older. The AC was extremely loud, and I mean loud. It would wake me up everything it kicked on. Room was pretty clean. Shower was horrible. The tub/shower caves in at the middle which makes it difficult to stand in there. The tub also looked dirty. Somebody was bumping in their car right outside for sometime, you could hear it inside. I wouldn't return. The room was overall ok, standard room. read more

I'm a Bonvoy member because Marriott properties are usually top notch. However, this one is AWFUL! The BEST part of my one-night was stay was the front desk attendant. He was polite, nice, and personable! He provided great information. My room (412) was disgusting. The bathroom floor smelled like urine. There were obvious stains on the lamp switches by the bed...(gross!!) and there were stains on the night stands.. So, I'm glad I had an alcohol wipe because I wiped down everything. Oh, and the door to the workout room was broken. This properties needs a demolition and rebuild. When I checked out, the clerk was in the back room & she was half asleep....(it was 4:42a when I left). Didn't bother to ask how my stay was. This is why I'm blasting this right now. read more

I was going to stay for 5 days but the first night Was a disaster. No sleep. Children running up and down hall way at 2:00 in the morning. Why was this child up at 2;00. Second the person up above me was stomping all night. The person was rude I would not recommend this hotel ever. read more

I usually travel to the hotel by myself and usually have a really good experience but this time not so much. I decided to bring my family and service animals with us........huge mistake. We called ahead to make sure it was OK to bring such service animals and we're informed that it was ok. once we got home we saw a charge for $280 so I called to see what was going on and they told me that my animals were not servicing animals so they charge us a fee. I'm not exactly sure what makes them the authority on what is and isn't a service animal. I do know the law states they cannot even ask for documentation let alone charge somebody without any kind of communication on doing so. The general manager, Jose Camilo was less than helpful in resolving this situation stating that they will not remove the charge. Definitely appalling. I know it means nothing to the big machine, but they are losing my four trips a year there. read more

Recent stay here was wonderful, staff were excellent (Shout out to James at the front desk!) I traveled down from South Carolina, and had no trouble at all, in fact I was even allowed to check in early. Room designs are kind of an issue though, if it wasn't for the window, my room would've been very dark, the only lighting in the room were lamps. Location is excellent, many shops and restaurants in the area. Very easy to access! Overall, my stay was wonderful, and I'd definitely stay here again in the future. read more

Despite a large number of soccer players staying at the hotel during our stay and being notably rowdy, the front desk guy did an amazing job of placing us in a room far away from them. He was really remarkable, buzzing around the hotel to accommodate absolutely everyone, seemingly with ease. In addition to absolutely amazing customer service, we had the incredible opportunity to experience alligators just beyond the pool fence. It was such a cool experience that my kids will not soon forget. The only downside we had was that, after we checked out, we were charged $4.95 for the "complimentary internet". We are disputing that with our bank. I highly recommend this hotel but, pay close attention to your bank statement! read more

Solid Marriott property, nice for a lower frills hotel. Employees are very helpful, rooms are spacious and clean. It would be nice if the small kitchenette in the room had some kind of eating utensils. The may seem like a ridiculous complaint, but the pool and patio area are closed after 10 PM. I understand the idea that they want to keep the noise down, but for adults who just want to enjoy a beer or glass of wine at 10:30 at night it's very inconvenient because there's nowhere else in the hotel to do that. The location is great and this seems like a good property for adults and kids, I even saw a family playing in the pool during the day. I highly recommend this property would stay here again anytime. read more

After four weeks in Sanford, I have been in four different rooms at this property and most have been pretty okay. Room 122 - One of the rooms for wheelchair folks with a roll-in shower. I did not like whole bathroom being tiled like that. Room 500 - Nope. There's something in the stairwell that's right next to the room that woke me up at 11:00 PM. I had to have them move me to another room. Avoid this one! Room 524 - Nice enough, but the curved shower curtain rail (I love that these are at most Marriotts!) was dangling pretty low down. I'm sure it was ready to fall any sec. Breakfast was a nice set up and it's clear that they cater towards Europeans with sliced cheese and deli meat (ham) on the display. Toaster, scrambled eggs, a breakfast meat (sausage one morning, bacon another), juice, yogurt and fresh fruit. Parking can be tough if there's a big event in town. Some of the folks with trailers and vans take up 4 or 5 spaces each and I don't know how that's going to work. As far as the room being serviced, it was very clean when I arrived and I left my "do not disturb" out each time. Sometimes, I'd get a "we stopped by" note slipped under the door and sometimes not. Inconsistent. Check in staff was great. Lots of restaurants nearby. The IHOP is within walking distance, others are a very short drive. Overall, a good property other than the shower curtain thing that got on my nerves. read more

Pretty decent place. The front desk personnel are friendly and efficient. Coffee and fruit water are offered in the morning and again in the afternoon in the lobby area. The breakfast buffet is pretty good: scrambled eggs, pork sausage, oatmeal with your choice of toppings, assorted cereals, fresh fruit, juices, various bread items. The attendant does a great job keeping everything full. I interacted with two different folks during my stay. Don't forget to tip the buffet people and the housekeepers. The room is a suite complete with a living room type area with TV and sofa and tables, a nice desk area with connectivity (complimentary WiFi), the bedroom and bathroom areas, kitchen sink, microwave. They even supply paper plates and plastic ware for you. Also coffee and a coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Sebastian shampoo and conditioner. The shower head is rain-like. The shower liner actually fits into the shower. Yea, no floods! My only 'complaint' is that my bed was a little soft. To be fair, at home I sleep on a super duper extra firm bed made by Cantwell Mattress Company. So what's soft to me may be perfectly OK for you. The pillows were great, though. As stayed in plenty of other Springhill's and always delivered great with a high standard signature & modern vibe, not this place. Outdated 1990's room furnishings (seriously) and horrendous lighting. The room was just okay to mediocre and the typical bowel binding breakfast, at least a somewhat healthy option of oatmeal and cereal. To be fair, room was clean & staff was nice, so my complaint is nothing of that nature. Was expecting that wow factor that I normally receive out of a Springhill Suite / Marriott stay. Oly reason added one an extra star, because the price was okay. Be disappointed if looking for a true Marriott product. read more

I came to the Springhill Suites to drop off some items for a family member who was visiting from out of the states and when i arrived i was not sure what room they were staying at so i approached the front desk. The employee in the front desk was very friendly in helping me find the room number and let me leave the items there for the person to pick up when they arrived. The hotel is not very visible from I-4 but it is located near the Seminole Town Center in Sanford actually only a few miles away witch makes it perfect for the guest staying here, I would not say this is a location that is very popular for tourist as it is located in Sanford miles away from all the attractions but this hotel is close to the Sanford airport making it easy for people leaving out of the Sanford airport. Clean hotel, looks amazing inside and great staff. Even though i did not spend the night here from what i experience it looks like a good hotel. read more

We had to come to Sandford to drill with an army unit to see if we would be transferred. Upon arrival we were told Springhill does offer a military discount but not for leisure. We explained we were not here for leisure but to report in the morning and that we were actively serving. The front desk attendant then informed us the discount was only for active military. You know "the ones who really..." then she stopped. She then informed us that Springhill was "cracking down" on abuse of the discount. The hotel is nice but the customer service is SEVERELY lacking. We felt insulted and belittled just because we didn't have orders on us. As combat veterans of every major military operation in the Middle East since 2002, we do not recommend this place. read more

If you like a mystery, this hotel is for you. We had to switch rooms 3 times due to dirty bathrooms and a LARGE blood stain on the pull-out. If you are in to solving crime and mysteries than this hotel is for you. Is it the maids? Is it the manager? Or, was it a guest? Side note: the night worker, Jasmine, was very nice and complimentary. One of the cleanest hotel properties I've been to in a long tim. They were extremely accommodating after I was forced to leave a different hotel due to roach infestation. This hotel would definitely NOT be my first choice if staying in this area again. Here are the reasons why: 1. We had reserved a room for our family members who were staying in the hotel after a family funeral. 2 hours into our party, there were guests of the hotel that were putting items into our room because they said THEY had a sports party that started in an hour. My cousin had specifically paid for the room that we had reserved. The hotel staff gave us a very hard time and didn't offer an alternative room. And then discovered that our reservation wasn't even written down-their screw up #1 2. Second night of our stay, we noticed that the light bulb in the bathroom was out. When I asked the front desk if they could send maintenance up to fix it, they stated that the maintenance people had already left for the night and we had to wait until 9AM the next morning. I told them that I wanted to take a shower before that time and maybe they could let me use another hotel room. They stated that the hotel was "fully booked". I don't believe that because a lot of these hotel chains keep VIP rooms available. So as a result, my 83 year old mother, my brother and I had to take showers the next morning in the dark-very unsafe!, strike #2 3. We came back to our room on the 3rd day in the evening and our room hadn't been touched by housekeeping so as a result we had no clean towels. We didn't have the do not disturb sign on either. 4. No extra toilet paper, we had to call for some. It was a decent hotel for the price, which included free parking and breakfast, decent pool but for all of the hassles, it wasn't worth it. We had an excellent experience with all the staff. When we arrived, there was a minor issue with the way we had booked through Airmiles points (Not related to the hotel). James, at the front desk, was able to quickly resolve our issue. He was very calm and professional. The next morning we were greeted by Nasser, the breakfast service attendant. Very kind and personable. He was quick to provide service and interact with everyone in the family. He was great with the kids and seem to build a rapport with each of the people at the breakfast area. The buffet was full and he was quick to clear dishes. He was excellent. Laura at the front desk arranged a taxi to get us the airport in the morning Overall we had a great experience and all three employees were excellent. Nice clean hotel with comfy pillows. Our room layout (2 beds) was a little odd because it felt like you were in a Twister game to turn and watch the TV. But there were no crackheads in the parking lot, our car was not broken into, we slept good, and there is easy access to a lot of shopping and dining nearby. Can't complain too much! read more

Traveling with a toddler can be difficult. However all of the staff here were extremely accommodating . We took our son to Disney for the merry Mickey Christmas party, we didn't want to stay on property so we found this place just a short drive away. They catered to our every need and the staff were more friendly than anywhere else I have stayed. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was awesome!! Meh. That sounds mean; however, it's not meant to be. This is Sanford, FL, I don't expect for anything to knock me off my feet. The staff here was nice enough, the room was clean enough...and that's about it. My single issue with this property is that it's not what I've come to expect from Springhill Suites. The last Springhill I stayed at was the one located in Tallahassee, FL and I venture to say it was pristine...I dare even say, posh looking. It had a very contemporary and updated look. This Springhill is reminiscent of a Country Inn and Suites, or like properties. It is absolutely a no frills, "I need a safe, clean place to stay for the night," property. If it is practicality and sensibility you seek, and you are not one to get caught up in amenities...you have found your place! One plus: its close proximity to Seminole Towne Center Mall. read more
