We stayed here on a road trip west, a little over a month ago, but I'm just getting around to posting this. Besides the usual excellent beds at Comfort Suites, and getting a great night's sleep, this place had the BEST free breakfast we've ever had. In addition to the usual scrambled eggs, waffle maker,etc, they also had scrambled eggs with chorizo. I went back for thirds! Absolutely delicious! This was by far the best hotel we stayed out during our "extended tour of west Texas"! Rooms were spacious and quiet and even had a couch in the "living room". Prices were reasonable and everything was located close by. The WiFi was fast. They kept the pool and hot tub open late for us, even with no one else there. Staff was friendly and they had lemon water at the front desk. They had ice cream and other small snack items for sale near the desk. Pros The hotel location is convenient with plenty of free parking. There were luggage carts available. Unit 206 is a handicap accessible room that is a spacious, quiet, end unit. The breakfast ham and eggs as well as chorizo and eggs were tasty. Cons Bathroom door didn't close. The room appeared a bit worn and could use a renovation. The Ice maker didn't work on 2nd floor. Breakfast area was lacking. The pancake and waffle makers were broken. :( Fruit offering was over ripe or past its prime. My option was 1 dried shriveled orange. We stayed here last night on way through, and it was a little gem. We were hoping for somewhere to stay with at least a hot tub, so we could soak away our day on the road. Not only did they have a great indoor hot tub, but an indoor pool as well. It was charming and clean, the water temp was perfect, and we had it all to ourselves. When you are traveling on the road, be careful where you check in. The night before I stayed in a hotel where there was no hot water, the bed wasn't soft (I might as well slept on the floor), and no free breakfast even though they said there was free breakfast. So staying here felt like staying in the Hilton because even if it costs a little more, it's worth it. Everything was nice and clean. The bathroom was big and the room was a suite with a living room attached to the bedroom. Breakfast - It's decent. You have your sausage, toast, pastries, eggs, cereal, coffee and juice. It's a perfect place to stay if you are heading to Marfa or El Paso and can't handle long distance driving. It's not a far drive from the Balmorhea State Park where you can go swimming in the San Solomon Springs. read more

Okay, so I'm not one to stay in "nice" hotels. I honestly can't even really tell you what that means. The room I had here was one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in. Perhaps I have very low standards or Comfort Suites just knocked it out of the park, but I'm going to assume it is a mixture of both. For $139 a night, you get a spacious room with a king sized bed. (We got a discount on the room, making it $125. Sweet!) When I say spacious, I mean s p a c i o u s. There is so much room for activities, y'all. Bathroom? You could throw a party in there. Lounge area? Nice and comfy and so much space. Bed? It's king sized, so you know you have all the space. The bed was super comfy, which was perfect given the good night's sleep I needed before hiking up the Chisos Mountains at Big Bend. Pillows? You have options between soft or firm! Lovely. Everything about the room was neat, orderly, and clean. No stains in sight here! Breakfast was your pretty standard set-up, but nothing was bad. Sausage? Perfectly adequate. Blueberry muffin? Totally fine. Yay, so many yogurt options! They also had eggs, waffles, bagels, cereal, coffee, juice, and other pastries and danishes. Even though we got there late at night on Thanksgiving day, the lady at the front desk was super sweet and very helpful. Seeing as how I'm planning on taking many more trips to Big Bend in the future, this will probably be my go-to stop before each adventure. read more

We stopped here after a long drive coming from California. We stoped here for one night and requested a late checkout. They were very jice and accommodating. The rooms were so clean big and comfortable. With a huge hot tub right in the room. We ended up staying three nights to rest up and enjoy the pool. Breakfast was great! I was impressed by this location as I was not expecting much from Fort Stockton, but this hotel surpassed my expectations! There was a race in town, so parking was scarce, but the lot is well lit, so even though I had to park in the parking netherworld, I had a safe walk to the lobby. The hotel staff here is very nice and accommodating! The lobby is nice and clean and they have a lil computer station and printer you can use. They even have a kind of mini-mart behind the front desk if you need some sundries or snacks. The room itself was exactly what you would expect from a Comfort Suites, no surprises there, which was nice. I did like that we got a suite in the corner off the elevator, which proved to be more quiet than the other suites that were "closer to the action". My only gripe is that, as it would seem with most new hotels, the walls are paper thin! The breakfast was ok, nothing meh and nothing amazing. So, if you are looking for a quick and decent stay in Fort Stockton, this is it. read more

I would give this place 0 stars if i could. We had BUGS in our bed and all over our luggage that was set in the room. We asked for another room and it ALSO had bugs. At that point we were fed up and decided to stay somewhere else. The front desk lady was on her phone and she was just rude. She didn't apologize for the bugs. I paid for a suite with a separate sitting area which I was given on the first floor. The keys did not work when we got to the room. Went back to the front desk to get them to work. Instead Angie decided to change my room and act like I was getting a bigger and better room. I went to the 3 rd floor and I come to find out I'm in a handicap room! It was old and outdated! I was told this is the "room" they give to people with pets! Well I didn't have a "pet". I had a service animal, which I provided the front desk with my dogs service ID card. I was discriminated because I had a service animal!! I am contacting the American disability office concerning the fact that I did not get the room I paid for, because of a pet! read more

This is the second time we have stayed at this particular Comfort Suites. The first time (in August 2009) we were very pleased with the clean room and amenities. Most recently we stayed at this hotel in July 2010 - the hotel was still very clean, the price was right ($77/night), and breakfast was very well stocked (waffles, bagels, cereal, eggs, bacon, etc). However, the room we were given was not a good as the last time we stayed here in August 2009. This time our room felt very damp, the carpet seemed a bit dirty, and there was a strange "hot tub" type bathtub in the sitting area of the room; which would be fine as we were just passing by, but it was dirty with bugs and dust. The hotel was pretty booked that night and we called and make a reservation 30 minutes before arriving. The man at the desk was very helpful and gave us a type of "manager's special" since it was nearly 1am when we arrived. Thus, I think this particular room was their "manger's special" room; as our previous stay was very enjoyable. Overall though, I slept well and had a decent breakfast in the morning. I would give my first visit here 5-stars, but my second 3-stars; so for the review I'll go somewhere in the middle. read more

Just passing through Ft. Stockton, TX and family and I needed a break from the road. Called 60 miles out on the handy (cell phone), the woman who booked the room was very nice, gave us a great rate, honored and thanked my military service with a discoun! That means the world to a young veteran. The room was clean, big and was everything we needed. The gym and hot tub/pool were my favorite. They got 5 stars just for the gym, it was perfect, just like at my other gyms I go to regularly. I don't think I will get to eat the breakfast sorry folks but I have many times over the years before in the Army during training at Ft. Lewis. It's food, it will give you plenty of energy to get back on the road. read more

Very nice hotel in Fort Stockton! The wife, child, and I were passing through on our way to Florida, and after consulting several review websites to include this one, we decided to stop here. We got a King bed room with a sofa bed. It was big, it was clean, and it was very comfortable for all of us. The indoor heated pool and Jacuzzi were very nice and they were open late enough for us to take a dip, which is HUGE if you're traveling with a 4 year old all day. The little one loved it! We got a government rate since I was traveling on Military orders. The hot breakfast was good too. We would DEFINITELY stay here again if ever passing through the area on another trip(because I can't think of any other reason why I would be in Fort Stockton), and so should you! read more

Ehhh, really not impressed. Paid $140 (with taxes, etc) for a king suite and given everyone's good reviews I had certainly expected more. Someone said it was new-ish?!? No way! The room we were in was rough! All the furniture was scratched and chipped (eg, tv stand, bed side tables) and there were stains on the sofa & wall paint. Worst hotel stay in a long time. Pull in at 1:30 am with a car full of presents, 3 toddlers and no luggage rack. The hotel then gave us the most distant room from the elevator on the top floor. Asked for a packnplay, given a broken 1 and no sheets. Breakfast was a limited selection further limited by the lack of eggs for all but the last 5 min we were there. Upon returning to our room, we find our keys had been deactivated so we needed to go back down to have it turned back on. I use Choice Hotels a lot and this is by far the worst experience ive had with them. read more

I have never stayed in a Comfort Inn before - and I was pleasantly surprised! We were traveling back from our spring break from NM and there is really nothing between El Paso to Houston. Fort Stockton is the biggest "small town" before you hit San Antonio. My husband looked at Yelp prior to booking and the Comfort Inn was 1 of the 2 with the highest reviews. He called the other place first bc maybe it had one more review - but the lady that answered the phone did not speak English very well and it took her almost 10 mins. To realize there was no availability. (?!?!). Our next call was to Comfort Inn- and fortunately the lady said they had just received a cancelation. We rolled in around 10:45 pm - the lady at the front was well dressed and well spoken. The lobby and rooms were clean, and the furnishings were updated. There was a continental breakfast and wifi, microwaves & mini refrigerators along with a snack area where you could purchase ice cream, cokes, granola bars, popcorn etc. we were up and out of there by 6:00 am so we weren't able to enjoy the breakfast or use the other amenities - however, we will definitely stay there again when traveling in that direction. read more

Great room, very spacious, and had an extra section of the room for a sofa, chair, and coffee table. Pool closes at 10pm, opens at 6am. This was my first trip to West Texas, to visit a family member in Monahans, TX, and we decided to stay here in Fort Stockton because the prices were better here than in Monahans. I'm definitely glad we did; the 45-minute drive was well worth the great accommodation and far more reasonable price. The Comfort Suites was staffed by friendly people and the rooms were quite nice. Everything was very clean and modern, the wi-fi was good and included, and the breakfast was good too. Very convenient to I-10 too. No complaints about this hotel! read more

I've stayed here before and I'm stuck here tonight but I will never stay at this dirty, rude, cheap, disgusting motel again. First you arrive to a musty stank that floats through out the hotel, then youre greeted by two incompetent employees, who have the charm and welcoming skills of a large rocks. On this particular night they book me into someone else's room...literally I walked right in to someones laptop on the table and luggage. I of course left immediately, and the larger of the two rocks at the desk says "we have someone working mornings that shouldn't be working mornings"??? wtf any how, they move me across the hall, I return to my new room ("that hasn't been booked in a couple day" he said) only to see that theyve moved me to 2 Queens. I booked a King. I return to the rocks, only to have the larger one say, "Hey we upgraded you." and pretty much this is what you get when you book through a 3rd party. Back to my room where I find lamps that have broken switches, a stained couch and chair... misc stains on the walls, open outlets (no face plates...come on theyre less than a dollar!) a flying bug in my closet, a god awful rubber mat in the bathtub (I'm waiting for it to walk away and move itself.) Lastly this is Fort Stockton so there are not a lot of choices, but if I'm going to spend my money, its going to be at a hotel that takes pride in its hotel, values its guests, and does what it says it will do. Anyone who reads this that is thinking of staying here, just remind yourself that you deserve better. read more

June 22, 2018 This hotel is ridiculously expensive for a Comfort Suites. $204.08 to be exact on a Thursday with a Senior Discount for 3 people. My elderly parents and I were traveling from Arizona to Austin, Texas. My husband booked the room online, but the room was way more expensive once we got there. We were not trying to stay at a Marriott. The amenities were not near comparable to the price. There are signs in the foyer not to sit on the furniture if you are dirty and the Jacuzzi was out. The actual hotel room was clean and roomy. However, if you have a problem with your room, don't bother asking for the general manager because you won't find her. We were given a room with a torn window screen because the foliage outside rubbed on the window. Although, this was a minor annoyance when the gutter fell off the building and swung back and forth all night on the window that is when things became uncomfortable. We could have walked away feeling it was just a freak accident but when we asked to speak with a manager we were directed to the general manager who would not be on duty until later that afternoon. The sign on the building says "manager always on duty". I get it, people deserve to have time off and see their families. However, when a customer repeatedly leaves messages for you and calls you, it is good business to respond. This is my first negative review because I don't publicly complain; however, I feel I have not been given the courtesy of an opportunity to voice my concerns to the proper people in charge. Room is nice. Beds are clean. The floor in the room is a bit sticky. Its a decent place to stop for a night or two, before hitting the road.
