I have been driving nearly 10 hours from Houston. On my way to Los Angeles. I Called ahead five minutes before arriving and got told I could get a room for half a night for $55. I knew I wasn't gonna get a good hotel but I was sleepy so I decided what the hell let's go for it. I arrived at the inn, the office was empty, and there was a sign that said to call the attendant, I guess the attendant was asleep and after calling her several times on the phone she answered and told me in an annoyed voice that the room price was $69. I asked her why did it go up to 69 when I had called earlier She said it just did. She sounded really annoyed and hung up on me after she answered the question I called her back, but she would not answer. I'm pretty sure that they did not have that much business since there was only a few cars out there I've been to a Motel 6 in El Paso which was $44 and it was a horrible experience, but thinking about it right now I would rather stay there than stay here At least the people at the front desk won't act like stuck up pricks At least at least at the Motel 6, they advertised how their rooms actually looked I have been reading some of the reviews. People have been putting on here and I'm pretty sure most of these people that give five stars are paid to do so. Nothing unexpected for less than $50/night, but the shower was renovated, carpet seemed new, TV worked. Finding plugs was a little challenging. I'd stay again. No curb appeal, but then, nothing within about 200 miles of Fort Stockton has curb appeal. Its the OIL PATCH, folks! read more

This place does not look like much from the outside but looks a whole lot better than what is it across the street since it is in abandoned Motel over there. If you drive through the u-shaped complex you will notice a big Barron area, that might be a great place to park your vehicle if you are towing a trailer or something. The Wi-Fi here is mostly week so hopefully you have a great service provider but there are times when you can get through but do not get frustrated since they're probably are 25 other people using the same Wi-Fi. Something about this Motel which is unique to me compared to the others that I have stayed in for the company is they will come in and clean your room everyday, they do state that they change bed sheets maybe once a month which is a yuck yuck but at least your bed is made daily and coffee items stocked. The price of the rooms are about $100 and I would say if your company is going to have you stay here for a long time then might be getting it for $100. Each room comes with a microwave, refrigerator, air conditioning television and other little amenities. If you are lucky you will get the semi newly renovated rooms that are on the outside part of this place, if you get the inner circle if I make all of that by the office and you pretty much we'll have a room that is older but still not a bad place to stay in since I have not noticed any mold on the ceiling or the tiles. Only complaint I have at least is room 127 when I walked in there smelled like someone had some vicious sex escapades while dry heaving from a hangover the day before eeeeek and phew but I had to put up with it since it was 4 in the morning and I just got back in from home, Walmart here I come with about 10 air fresheners! The front desk Personnel for the most part are pretty friendly. The ice machine hair works very good, this machine is usually stocked up really quick, the only thing that is gross is the handle is always kept by a million people on top or inside the machine with no where to actually hang it, oh well. Don't pour the remaining ice or water out on the pavement or sidewalk because the owner or lady might get a little upset at you, she were asked you to pour it in the rosebush, pretty reasonable request. Do not cook in the room or they might send the SWAT team on you! They will say nothing if you bring a cooker and cook it outside in front of the door however. Whoever stole my tongs that I had on my barbecue pit while I was cooking you are a a******! Make sure you tell them you have a pet with you or you will be charged $200 on your credit card. read more

Have you ever been so tired that you turned into a one-person comedy routine of mis-hearing and misunderstanding the late-night front desk person? Definitely me, and bless the lady at the desk who had the pity to be patient with me and my rapidly diminishing brain cell count after my long day on the road. The room I walked into felt plucked straight out of my childhood on the road, when my family used to land at Super 8's and Motel 6's all the time. It is definitely an older setup, but very clean. It's more bare bones than many of the more modern hotels are, but if all you need is a clean, safe place to land for the night, that's no bad thing. Plus, it's way less expensive than most of those aforementioned more modern hotels, and I'm willing to take that trade as long as the cleanliness isn't neglected. As I mentioned before, cleanliness is not neglected here. The lot is also very well lit, which makes me feel safer. Would definitely recommend to anyone who's just passing through. read more

Everything in my room had been recently updated. It looked brand new. The bed was very comfortable and the room is quiet. The owners are friendly and accommodating. But, I don't think I got the wake-up call that I asked for. There is a convenience store a block down the street in easy walking distance. Due to the improving oil business in the area, many of the motels have been upgraded and prices have gone up a bit. You get what you pay for. I'd be happy to stay here again. read more

This place is so nice, clean and comfortable. My daughter found this place online for her family and my husband and I to stay on our way to Big Bend from San Antonio. We were concerned that it wouldn't be nice because it's so inexpensive but we were so pleasantly surprised! Traveling for FEMA, I've stayed in many places that cost much more and we're not as nice. My room looked nothing like the pictures on Yelp. I've attached pics of what it REALLY was. From my pics, you see blood on the bathtub mat, holes in the walls, duct tape covering where the peep hole should be in the door, dirty old carpeting...and a very large gap under the door. The door gap made me very uneasy. This is TX...anything could (easily) crawl under that door and the gap was so big that, I could see straight out into the parking lot so, I shoved towels under the door. I give them 2 stars, instead of 1 because the owner was nice and the shower was good. I've stayed at many low budget travel spots but, I will definitely pass this motel next time. This was the cleanest motel I've ever stayed in! We stayed two nights. The price for two rooms was pretty good, the beds were comfortable, the A/C worked well, the water pressure was excellent, we all liked the one-cup coffee maker, and the fridge was larger than expected and had plenty of room to store our perishables. The owners were very friendly and you could tell they were on top of things. This will be our first choice for a place to stay in Ft. Stockton for the forseeable future. read more

Newly renovated location has a feel of both privacy and security with thicker windows and steel entry doors with newer looking hardware. I had no issues sleeping here, as it was dead quiet. Brand new bathroom made us feel squeaky clean, and the fridge and microwave were a nice convenience. Wifi is unreliable, so if it's significant to your stay (like for us) then you may want to choose elsewhere. What knocked this down from 5 stars is that the outlets on the wall with the desk and tv was dead, rendering that whole section useless. Since it's a cramped room, that made setting up our laptop nearly impossible, and when we brought it up to the desk clerk he seemed not only unconcerned, but annoyed by us. He was not very professional at all. I'd probably still stay again if I needed a cheap, safe place to just get some sleep. read more

Definitely don't judge a book from it's cover! From the outside it looks a little sketchy, especially if you're arriving at night. We needed a place to stay and so far on our trip, other yelpers haven't let us down. We reserved two rooms while we were a few hours away. Arrived around 11pm. They held our rooms. When we got here, they were super friendly, although a little hard to understand. They let us check the rooms first and we were so pleasantly surprised! It was like arriving at your relatives after they had been waiting for you. All rooms are ground floor. Beds very comfy. Room extremely clean! New furnishings. I don't care for the paint color, but obviously that's not a big deal when you're tired and want a comfortable place to stay. Microwave, fridge, hair dryer, coffee pot, iron/board, flat screen tv with DirecTV, all available. Cute little entry way into the bathroom with plenty of space to hang clothes and store luggage. Very nice bathroom. I've stayed in many hotels and this one felt almost like you were at home, able to relax. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the lack of continental breakfast. In serious need of the remodel others have mentioned. Furniture is old, cracked, and chipped. Carpets and upholstery are worn and stained. No alarm clock and no easily accessible electrical outlet to plug in a phone charger. You will have to move furniture to find one and will be disgusted by what you find there. Also a bit concerned that it may not be in the best part of town because you have to check in through a small security window (like you'd find at a bank teller) and not at a front lobby desk. Also the only motel I have EVER stayed in where the "manager" knocked on my door at 10:50 am to tell me that it was check out time and I needed to leave (!?). I was getting ready to walk out the door anyway but thought it was odd. When I loaded my car there was only one other vehicle in the entire parking lot so it's not like there were people waiting and they need the room right away... read more

I agree with the previous comments. This little motor inn was a great stay for my husband and I while traveling from SA TX to New Mexico. Our room while quant, was very clean, the bed was comfortable, sheets were soft, and the cable was most likely better than anywhere I have ever stayed. I normally stay at Hampton Inns when traveling but will stay at the Deluxe Inn next time I am passing through Fort Stockton. Very good deal. Let me start with a disclaimer that driving through the middle of nowhere you're pretty much stuck with what you've got so with that said I'll start my review: This is the first time staying at the Deluxe Inn so I hopped on the internet to look ahead and see what I was in for, there are several hotels in the area ranging from $80 to well over a hundred and sixty, not wanting to spend a fortune I opted to follow the rating on booking.com which was 7.9. This is one of the lower priced in the area and I must say just traveling and passing through I didn't need a fancy accommodation. To start with the person that checked me in was friendly and polite once we got our key and into the room I noticed it was relatively small, but it was clean and fresh the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and the AC worked amazing. I'll admit I read some of the reviews on Yelp of course that's our go-to thing, you're reading this one now arent you. Go ahead and believe the good ratings they are for real, I don't know what happened with the others that were lower maybe they should have stayed in a fancier higher priced hotel. Like I said when you're in the middle of nowhere you're kind of stuck with what you've got. This is not a 5 star hotel what it is however is a clean decent place to get some rest that is on the less expensive side for the area. read more

Let me begin this review by stating that this is Fort Stockton. This is a tiny town, the county seat for Pecos (or something), that you pass through on your way to another destination from someplace else. No one stays in Fort Stockton for more than a night unless it truly is necessary, like for selling the house of a recently deceased relative who refused to move to a nursing home closer to family, or the helicopter that needs to pick up a person from the hospital to a bigger city hospital is in use doing something else. That being said, dad and I stayed here as one of our stops between Southwest Florida and Los Angeles, so what I'm trying to say is we just wanted a place to sleep, not lounge around. The four stars is not because it's like the W. It's like giving a McD's four stars because the behind of counter staff weren't picking their noses and actually got your food out to you looking slightly presentable, not because it was Michelin star rated. The place was clean. Dumpy on the outside, clean on the inside. The bathroom was clean and your feet didn't stick to the floor. You're not paying for Egyptian cotton on feather down mattresses. You can park your car outside the room, unless some asshole with a uhaul towing their car decides it's going to take up five spots, including yours. Through Priceline for two doubles, it was $81, including tax. The WiFi doesn't work, and the pillows were really hard so they hurt my neck. Four stars for not being in Texas anymore while I write this review. read more

We drove into the area around 4 am in desperate need of sleep before continuing our trek. The chain motels in this non-city were packed, far overpriced, and I selected this spot thanks to Yelp. STAY HERE! Friendly owner who happily settled us in at the ungodly hour we awoke him. We had a 14 foot UHaul truck and there was ample parking where it remained safely until morning. Room was clean, beds were comfy, kitchenette had the coffeemaker & fridge we needed, water pressure in the shower was a delight. The window a/c was great, flat screen TV a treat, and our overall experience was top notch. Can't beat the price and you're supporting a family owned business. The outside is not much to look at, yet. Its currently under renovations. I was however EXTREMELY pleased to find our room had been completely renovated and updated. Everything was new, new sheets, mattress, granite walls in the bathroom, new toilet, new carpet, new flat screen TV. Living in the lap of luxury for $68.00 bucks a night. The owners are also completely friendly which is a rarity based on the other people we came into contact with in this town. We stopped over for one night while driving from a Phoenix to San Antonio for my son's graduation from Air Force bootcamp. We found an absolute gem in a town that has seen better days. I chose this because Priceline has many good reviews noting how kind the manager was. He is very kind, and helpful. When I first arrived, I was a little worried because it is an old building and the area around it a bit shady. After driving around the city, I realized that is just how Ft. Stockton looks. The motel is going through some renovations, and once I entered my room, I was very relieved to see how nice it was. Priceline told me they only had double queens available, but after the manager realized I traveled alone, he offered to put me in a single king. I really appreciated that. I don't intend on traveling to Ft. Stockton again, but if I do, I know a great place to stay with kind and helpful management. read more

This hotel looks pretty nasty when you drive up, buy don't be fooled. The rooms are freshly remodeled and very nice. I haven't seen sheets this white since mom was doing my laundry! I think the interior decorator was on holiday when they chose the colors for the paint in the room, but one the lights are out, it really doesn't matter. The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Patel, are also very friendly and accommodating. I erred when making my reservation, booking the room for the day before my actual arrival and they applied the no-show charge to my actual stay, so my mistake cost me nothing. When they finish remodeling the rooms and get the exterior fixed up, the Patels are going to have a very nice motel. read more

Ok, Maybe I do have really high standards, but this is definitely not a good place to stay, period! yes you have a nice owner in the front desk, and taking in consideration the prices from the hotels in that town, this one is maybe an option compare to the other hotels, but just for the record, this place is not cheap either (at least not in the rate). But the rooms smell weird, the area outside the rooms is not clean, and you have no amenities neither breakfast; again, maybe my standards are so high, but for that price is the least you can have in any other town. My advise, if you have the energy and the mood to drive a little bit further please do! worst case scenario, I think will be better invest more money and stay in another hotel like a Holiday Inn or something like that. Again, I think is important for people to know that this is not the shiny and nice hotel other users describe here, in my case I was staying there with my wife and a baby, so the experience was disappointed. I have stayed here many years ago and it was OK then. But now, after it looks like the Deluxe Inn was remodeled, my wife and I found this motel to be excellent. The rooms were clean and well kept. The bathrooms were updated and looked new. The manager on-site was very nice and friendly too. We made our reservation directly with them and our room was ready when we arrived. Easy and fast check-in and check-out too. The value was also terrific - compared to the other hotels in Fort Stockton. No need to stay in an expensive and overpriced chain hotel. No complaints. I highly recommend and we will stay here again if our travels brings us through Fort Stockton in the future. read more

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Our room was broken into at 1am and thankfully we were able to scare the person away. Shaken, we immediately called the hotel front desk. They couldn't be bothered. They said everything was fine, someone probably had the wrong key (not sure what that means???), and not to worry about it. I expressed my concern and said that I didn't feel safe, but they were unapologetic and unconcerned. They didn't come to the room to check on us. They didn't survey the parking lot. They didn't even ask us to come to the front desk. Nothing. We packed up and left the hotel about ten minutes later, feeling extremely unsafe about staying there overnight. When we called the hotel on our way out of town asking for a refund (we'd only been there for three hours and obviously it was a horrible experience) and they were again unapologetic and did not give us any kind of refund. I am incredibly disappointed in this hotel. I am still shaken by my experience and frustrated about the way hotel management handled it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Wooooooooooowww... I will say that the people that own the business REALLY care about the place, it seems like it has just fallen on EXTREMELY hard times. It is VERY motel-ish. If I was not sharing a room with my brother for a night I probably would have been scared with the idea of being alone. We had three large/giant breed dogs with us so the three stars essentially goes to the fact that this place charges a one time fee for dogs in general, not a per-dog fee like some others do. Thus, the price was not astronomical. For one night it was fine, but after staying at many more hotels along our drive, I realized that this was probably the worst it could get. If we did not have dogs it would have gotten 1 star, but for the convenience factor for large dogs, they got 3 from me. : ) read more

After reading some of the reviews on here, I expected this place to be a shining diamond in the rough. I heeded the advice of other Yelpers and stepped into the office against my own judgment and was greeted by a very friendly and helpful owner. Extra points for Mr. Patel; he's an excellent guy and was great to talk to after spending 9 hours on the road. When I walked into the room though, I couldn't help but feel let down. It smelled stale and a chunk of the room's desk seemed to have been melted somehow. The bedding wasn't the nicest either, but this place was satisfactory for a night's stay. You get cable TV and free (albeit spotty) wifi provided with the room, and Ft Stockton is quiet enough to never have to worry about being woken up in the middle of the night. You could tell the bathroom had been renovated recently, and the room seemed clean. Don't come here expecting to be blown away, but it's more than ample for a pit stop as you travel through West Texas. read more
