Let me be clear, this is not the Hilton, but it's clean, safe, and affordable. I booked two rooms the night before. When we arrived the next night we were greeted and checked in by friendly staff. The rooms were next to each other. The word that comes to mind is bargain. It does have an indoor temperature controlled pool, a functional fitness center, and indoor walking track. Although, we didn't try, it does advertise (and I saw the rooms for) a sauna, jacuzzi, and gazebo gathering space . Each room opens from the front but has rear glass door access to the center atrium (and the facilities listed above). For $50, you get a continental breakfast...which is coffee, juice, waffles, bagels, and muffins. There is one EV charger for a Tesla, but if you're still on fossil fuels, like us, then there is plenty of parking around the hotel. There is a high likelihood you will be close to your room. It's not the Ritz, but worked out for our two families as we passed through Ft. Stockton.

My fiance gave me a glare as we pulled in to this motel 7 and half hours after we left Houston. I told him to trust me cause I read the Yelp reviews and I was exhausted and not going any further. We were a bit confused when we entered the lobby. It said to ring the bell for night window since we did arrive close to midnight. We stood there for about 2 minutes before the guy working rudely asked us if we were coming in. I was too tired to even care at that point. We checked in and we got the keys to our room. For only $70, our room was huge. It was a JR suite with a kitchenette area but that wasn't the only thing that was surprising. I opened the backdoor and there was this beautiful gazebo and rainforest like environment . Me and my fiance walked around the back mouthing wow silently for about 20 minutes. Now the area. It's Fort Stockton. 9 times out of 10 you also arrived here at night or in the evening cause its the only somewhat major "city" between El Paso and San Antonio. There's a Walmart but if you arrive after Walmart closing, they have gas stations but your pretty SOL on late night food. Even the Mcdonalds wasn't open. They do offer breakfast. We missed it cause we overslept. Not a big deal as your close enough to small cafes to enjoy some food. This is a great deal if your just stopping over and you won't be in your room for more then 12 hours. Why pay for the Best Western?

Let this be a lesson ... never assume. The last few times I've stayed in Fort Stockton, at name-brand hotels, they proved to be among the worst ever. As Einstein stated, "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results". So, not wanting to be declared insane on this trip, I tried staying at a different location. I found this remote listing on Hotels.com for the Atrium Hotel ... at a price lower than those I've stayed at before. I booked here at the Atrium. Wow. The room is VERY nice, very clean, has a kitchenette, modern conveniences, and the room opens up on a beautiful atrium with a pool, sauna, exercise hut, and lounging tables. It's a hidden gem and replaces all my other choices when going thru Fort Stockton.

This place doesn't look "awesome" on the outside, but don't judge a book by its cover. We booked a 1 night stay in a 2 queen room. The checkin was smooth and simple. No issues. We were on the second floor. Our room was large with a fridge and microwave. There is a balcony, a desk, a dresser. The bathroom is fairly big and has a separate toilet and sink area with a little closet. The room was great, but it wasn't the best part. That's the actual Atrium. Our balcony walked out into the beautiful pool atrium area that makes you feel like you're in a tropical rainforest, not Texas! It smells like nature, the sounds were perfect. We even got to swim in the massive pool with the waterfall. The hot tub was closed which sucked, but the pool was awesome. We also were able to grab a quick breakfast this morning in their lobby. They have waffles, bagels, cereal, juice. Nothing fancy, but we aren't picky. ‍ We are staying again next week on our way home. And we'll stay again if ever in the area.

We arrived, checked in and gave them all our information and payment information. One of our rooms (group of four) had the bed unmade and obviously not cleaned. The desk clerk offered to "make the bed". They say they had a maid come in and clean the room while we were out eating. The rooms and lobby were not clean and the rooms needed attention, i,e, loose floor linoleum, covers missing of lights..etc. We went to check out and it was total chaos. Had to call the manager in who consistently had to call the owner to get our bill right. Mind you, we had given them all this two nights before. It took us an hour to check out and still left with an uneasy feeling that they had not got it right. We will not stay there again.

I checked 4 other hotels before deciding to stay here. The most bang for your buck and one of the least expensive hotels in Fort Stockton. Single King size bed room was huge. Fridge, microwave, sink, couch, and nice 42" flat-screen TV. Room was clean and didn't smell like smoke. I brought a candle anyway. They have an indoor pool that is really nice. The jacuzzi was broken and the workout room sucked. Minus 1 star. The continental breakfast was great. Waffles, muffins, bagels, 4 different types of cereal, and oatmeal. Oj, cranberry and apple juice too. Tea too. Apples, oranges, and bananas. Awesome. All I need is fruit and oatmeal. The front desk girl was incredibly nice and professional. Other hotels were overpriced, same breakfast, no pool, nice lobby but room was same if not smaller. The front desk attendants were not very friendly either. Bonus, there is a cocktail lounge walking distance. I don't drink much but was nice to go out and meet people. Would definitely stay here again.

I have an elderly mother and we needed a place to stay for the night as we traveled from New Mexico to Mississippi. We stayed in the handicapped room, 102. I was so exhausted when I checked in, that I didn't balk at the 89.00 room rate, despite that being only ten dollars less then some of the other higher end hotels around. When I woke in the morning, my door was open, only "secured" by the metal latch. When I investigated, I realized I had to beat on the door to get the dead bolt to catch. From the outside, the door handle itself does not catch so you can just push the door open. My mother needs baths and assistance while bathing, so I checked the tub before I ran her water. DISGUSTING. My finger came back with scum and grime. I immediately went and got comet and a wash rag from the desk. I scrubbed the tub so that she could bath, on my own hands and knees. (Besides the point - It is a Jacuzzi tub not a true handicap accessible tub. It is built in a cubby with only access to a shorter width side, and almost impossible to assist her without being in the tub myself.) After cleaning the tub, I began inspecting the room. I had to stop after about ten minutes. There are huge cracks in the ceiling that criss cross across the front of the room, above the air conditioner. The white light over the "kitchen" area is so disgusting, covered in nicotine, and dust, making a oily surface. The coffee pot does not fit in the maker, AND I wouldn't use it anyways. The water area of the pot is dusty and disgusting and the pot itself, I was able to write my name in the inside, on the bottom.. But that might just be the accumulation of dust because it didn't FIT anyways. The back of the door has been touched many times by grimey hands and dirty feet and obvious droplets of liquid as people attempted to open the door with full hands and drinks, because those droplets splashed out and made running grime rivulets on the bottom of the door. From the table where I am writing this, I can see fingerprints all over the handle area. The sheets appeared clean, but the box spring is stained and filthy, and yellow with what I hope is age. The mattress proper is about six inches thick, and very old. I am hesitant to actually pull back the bottom sheet because I do not want to disgust myself anymore than I already am. I though the carpets were dirty/dusty from my own feet, but the dark blue carpet makes it hard to see the dirt till all the lights on. Its disgusting. All the base boards are covered in grime and dusk and the ledges around the kitchenette sink, tub and everywhere else fail the white glove finger test - completely. Half the channels on the TV were not available but it didn't matter because I couldn't change the channel unless I was a foot from the TV and even then, the channel went out after a few seconds. I haven't even made it to the bathroom proper. As having worked in house keeping and as a front desk clerk, I know what it takes to clean rooms. I know its hard, and time consuming to do it right, but once trained properly, cleaning a room doesn't take rocket science. Just people properly trained and head house keeper to make sure they do their job. This motel is a complete failure. The ONLY shining light I had was nice front desk clerks when I checked in, and empathy when I explained the unlocked door and the dirty tub. This room isn't worth more than 49.00 on a weekend, and I feel like I'm being generous. They got away with a 89.00 room rate at ten thirty at night because it is three days before Christmas and they can jack up the price on weary travelers. Shame on you Atrium, for offering such a crappy room at such a jacked up price. Merry fricking Christmas.

Where do I start? Some coworkers and I pulled in here after a long day of driving. Obviously, this palace was not our first choice. Every other hotel in the area was booked except for this one, talk about foreshadowing. If I were to talk about all the hideous, disgusting and frightening issues regarding this place then I would need to write a novel. The following are just some of the traumatizing things that were experienced by my coworkers and I that lonely night in the Atrium. Before even reaching our rooms we had already realized it was going to be a long night. If the dimly lite building and smell of regret was not enough to do it then the plywood covered windows and the shady meth heads surely would be. On the walk to my room (which seemed like an eternity) I felt like I was being prospected for a robbery or sex trafficking by the questionable characters smoking crack outside of their rooms. That palpable feeling is what lead many of us to stacking the hotel furniture in front of our doors before we slept. THE ROOMS- (the following is an account of 8 different perspectives that bleak night). Upon entering the room we were met with some what of a surprise, the rooms are quite large. Sadly, it's all down hill from there. It looks clean upon entry, but after awhile you realize it is about as clean as a porta-potty that has been sitting in a construction site for a month. The beds are made, so it's clear that someone has services the room but they don't bother in actually cleaning anything. I am not sure if that came to resolution after discovering a piss covered toilet seat thereafter entering the bathroom, or if it was the specks of blood residue left on the bathroom sink. Most likely from a prior junkie shooting up or a domestic violence case. Had to lay down a towel on the bath tub while I took a shower because the build up of some type of scum on the tub floor. Regardless of the fact that I ended up washing up with a wet rag because the shower water has only one temperature that teeters on the brink of boiling. I didn't think it could get much worse after that until I had to dry off with yellow tinged body towels that have shrunk to hand size towels after years of use. At this point is was only about nine o'clock but I decided to go to bed just to make time go faster. After already having been enlightened to the repulsive condition of the rooms I decided to sleep on top of all the covers, while in my clothes with one of my tshirts as a pillow case. I thought that this would create an appropriate safety corridor between myself and the disease ridden bed that surely contained at least one strain of the herpes virus. A couple minutes after laying down I started to feel really itchy but I couldn't decide it was just a placebo effect, or if it was the disease infested crustaceans that were slowly working themselves deep into my skin. It took awhile to fall asleep because of the petrifying thoughts that kept entering my head, however, I actually got a pretty restful sleep after the fact. In the morning I ushered myself out of the room as quickly as I could. I couldn't bring myself to using the coffee maker that was in the room because I just did not comprehend how a coffee pot could get so dirty. I concluded that it was either because it has been washed in 20 years or because someone tried to heat up a pot of their throw up. CHECK OUT- we all decided to check out extra early just to get out of the dump that calls itself The Atrium. After seeing the continental breakfast from closer than 50 feet away we realized that most of it was more than a couple weeks old and would probably only be eaten by a group of hungry, rabies infested vultures. All the problems that we had were mentioned to the lady at the front desk but she didn't seem to interested. She informed us that she would let the cleaning ladies know but I am pretty positive that they don't exist. I did not know that hotels like this existed inside the continental United States. If it was possible, I would award them with negative stars. After reviewing all aspects of my grading criteria, I award The Atrium Hotels 1 star and God have mercy on their soul!!

And speaking of that, when we arrived I had thought I would need to go out for dinner and I was amazed that they provided that. It was nothing special -- salisbury steak, corn, and mashed potatoes -- but given that I really didn't want to go out after a long drive it was very welcome. However, the hotel breakfast was just OK so I went to the nearby McDonalds instead. This place kept surprising me on the upside. Everything was just a bit better than I expected for the price.

I seen them checking in and once walking over to McDonald's. After that I went out 3 more times and crickets! Now the rooms. The rooms are very nice and clean. I got a single queen suit and honestly the kitchenette was a nice touch. It has everything you need from dish soap to potato peeler. Has a dishwasher but no dishwasher pods/soap. Bathroom has Dove Products and instead of a dirty laundry bag they actually have a laundry basket. They have coffee available 24hrs in their mini store oh and a full size fridge. Overall this would be a great stay if I was staying more than overnight. There's a chevron across the street from McDonald's. Other than the address issue, which is a huge problem in my book after driving for HOURSSSS... this place would've recieved a 5 star review. The other star deducted is because the lobby restroom was dirty... had dried Pee drips and pubic hair on the seat and the sink faucet look like someone brushed their teeth and missed the inside sink.

I knew I wasn't gonna get a good hotel but I was sleepy so I decided what the hell let's go for it. I arrived at the inn, the office was empty, and there was a sign that said to call the attendant, I guess the attendant was asleep and after calling her several times on the phone she answered and told me in an annoyed voice that the room price was $69. I asked her why did it go up to 69 when I had called earlier She said it just did. She sounded really annoyed and hung up on me after she answered the question I called her back, but she would not answer. I'm pretty sure that they did not have that much business since there was only a few cars out there I've been to a Motel 6 in El Paso which was $44 and it was a horrible experience, but thinking about it right now I would rather stay there than stay here At least the people at the front desk won't act like stuck up pricks At least at least at the Motel 6, they advertised how their rooms actually looked I have been reading some of the reviews. People have been putting on here and I'm pretty sure most of these people that give five stars are paid to do so. If you're the owner of this inn and you read this review, you might wanna train your staff to be more polite and maybe have their brains checked for Alzheimer's Or just maybe hire new stuff

There was a group of shady looking men cooking in the parking lot. My car was tampered with overnight and it looked like someone tried to break into it during the night. When I noticed it the next day and called the hotel, an Indian man was so rude and disrespectful. He took no ownership of what happened at his parking lot and tried to act like it was somehow my fault.

I've been here a couple of times, most recently a few nights ago. It's kind of what you'd expect for a no frills motel out in deep Southwest Texas. The front desk was friendly. The rooms were clean, there was hot water for a shower and, thankfully, the A/Cs work. That's about as far as the comfort goes. The room was incredibly hot upon arrival. The A/C cooled things down, but something was giving off a lot of heat. I believe it was the aging mini fridge, as you could feel heat radiating from it. The bath towels were torn and ripped. The walls are thin, as a dog next door barked every time I closed a door or made the slightest sound. It is a smoke-free motel, but the smell of smoke was abundant outside, as several guests felt the need to smoke from the balconies. It was not the best experience and I'm not sure I'd stay here again.
