I tried to upload photos after completing their survey. I didn't have the option so I am happy to post here. I rode 600 miles the day of my reservation and I had no patience with trying to have my bathroom cleaned street checking in. I loathe paying for rooms that are unacceptable and the chain / franchises are destroying my future expectation. I'm an Elite member and this is unacceptable.

BED BUGS!! Do not stay here! We stayed here for 5 nights and on the 5th night we found bed bugs on our beds. Mangers were apologetic but owner was rude and refused to actually talk with us about this disaster. She didn't even apologize or even speak with us but rather spoke through her manager from the back. She offered to take two nights off but I pushed for a full refund. The refunded in full, but when we asked for reimbursement for the new clothes we had to buy and luggage she refused. We will be contacting a lawyer.

My wife and I have a son in college in Terre Haute, so we've been coming to town a few times a year…read morefor the last 3 years. We absolutely love the downtown, and we have 2 favorite places to stay- the Candlewood and the other big hotel across the street. Each has it's own charm, but I personally prefer the Candlewood. The rooms are expansive and come with a kitchenette. The location here is key- this is right on the corner of 7th and Wabash. Downtown TH has some super fun bars and restaurants and they're all a hop from this place. The hotel is quiet, clean, and like I already mentioned, the rooms are huge. Every time I am here I sleep like a baby- the beds are so comfortable and the hotel is quiet. I love their workout room here too- it's got everything I need to have an excellent workout while I'm on the road. It's super clean and has a nice range of equipment. Overall this is an excellent hotel. Even after our son graduates next year, I can see my wife and I coming to Terre Haute to enjoy a few of the restaurants in town, and we will definitely stay at the Candlewood Suites again.

Room refrigerator has a great ice maker and ice machine too with the recycles bins room! They have a huge locker with appliances you can borrow during your stay. Great work desk and chair if you're here on business. Beds were comfy and 4 pillows on each queen bed, nice supply of towels. Storage in the bathroom on the wall kept my makeup out of hubby's way. Cold A/C with a constant fan option . Large TV maybe 55". Easy parking and a BBQ pavilion too! Pet friendly and NO ODOR! Frozen meals, snacks and free coffee in the lobby. Free laundry with clean washer & dryers. Good food and cocktails a very short distance from the hotel. IHG rewards program.

The only reason this review isn't 1 star is because of the amazing front desk lady. She was kind,…read moreaccommodating, and clearly doing her best in a difficult situation. Unfortunately, the stay was a disaster. Our first room had a toilet that didn't work and was visibly dirty. The water wasn't coming out of the spout, and we were later informed the hotel was experiencing water issues. We were moved to a clean room, which seemed like an improvement--until we pulled back the sheets on one of the beds and found blood stains. Absolutely disgusting. With no other clean rooms available, we had to share the remaining bed, which felt far from ideal under the circumstances. Our stay was brief--just 4 hours--but during that time, we couldn't brush our teeth or shower due to the water issues. We didn't even dare to eat the breakfast, despite it being open. This experience was deeply disappointing and well below expectations for a SpringHill Suites property. I hope management addresses these serious issues.

I thought I could ignore and chalked it up to him just having a bad day. Once we got upstairs to get settled for the evening, turned the tv on to watch the NBA playoffs and 5 minutes into the show a message pops up saying the tv needed to reboot. I thought was odd but I allowed it to reboot but it turned off instead of restarting. SO I turned it back on. Was watching again and 5 minutes in I got the same message and the tv turned off again. I turned it back on and again maybe 10 minutes in the same thing occurred. I called downtstairs to let the guy know at the first desk and I said, hi I am in room so and so and ......he starts yelling saying I KNOW THE TV DOESN"T WORK IT IS PROPERTY WIDE AND WE HAVE TOLD IT AND THEY ARE AWARE. I say okay and hang up. This is maybe at 8:00. So we continued the evening watching a few minutes tv going off and me turning it back on. I called back down around 11:30 and asked if there are any updates, and I was yelled at again....I said, Hi this is room blah blah and I was calling to see if there was an update.......he says: I ALREADY TOLD YOU IT IS AWARE AND I DON"T KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE FIXED. So needless to say, the tv never worked properly. I would not stay here again. I did also contact Marriott corporate. They responded and said they were researching to have a response for me in the next 5 days.

Another Yelper wrote in their review, "good, but not there yet." This exactly describes how I feel…read morea bit. A little behind in posting this review, I have actually been to the TH Casino Resort a few times since its opening. I grew up in Terre Haute and my parents still live there, so I have reason to be in Terre Haute a few times a year. Full disclosure, my husband and I come from a global casino gaming background, so I understand too much on how things work inside a casino. But with that and being from Indiana, I also understand the market and expectation of what the TH Casino Resort is as an entertainment offering in the region. There are many things that I can appreciate here at this property and work for the demographic it serves. 1) Holy cow there is countless amounts of handicap parking available, in addition to a covered portico at both entrances to shield guests from rain, snow or sun. 2) There are two locations on the casino floor for self serve free coffee and soda, if that is your thing. 3) Disignated smoking room for slots that is connected oddly to the outside, but nice to have that confined for non-smokers like myself. 4) Lots of Color & Wonder in addition to Aristocrat slots on the floor, including old school reel machines in the back. 5) The Altitude Bar & Lounge seems like a home run. What a great space. Large, indoor/outdoor, romantic for two or your giant group of girlfriends, great view of simply the green region around and an effort to make the experience of this space elevated. Things working against this property in my opinion: 1) I think they missed the mark on not having a designated coffee shop. Simple food like a Denny's, wait staff, coffee, sit down, relatively inexpensive. This market eats at spots like this and I found it strange that this was not an offering available. The Soda Shoppe is a grab and go line, sit and eat spot. But early on, when I was there despite what the menu said, there was no tuna sub, no pizza and at that point there had never been soup. Maybe things have changed, but this is the only low key spot in the entire casino resort and this seems like disappointing and a missed opportunity. 2) Midweek during AM or afternoon, when things are real slow....like maybe two to three gaming tables having play, there is no $5 BlackJack option. This seems like a complete oversight. Like an easy softball for them to knock out of the park for people like me and my dad, that simply want to play a few hands. When clearly it is a ghost town on the tables, not sure the thinking here. When there is action and demand, totally get the higher table limit. But when I can hear crickets, not sure why there is never a $5 table open....at all. 3). The concept of "The Center Bar", which was first invented by the Hard Rock in Las Vegas over 20 years ago and is a much replicated at casino joints across the planet since, is missing something. I think it is the general lighting from the casino floor and its colors. "The Center Bar" should feel cozier, warmer, yet for the masses. I have not seen a hotel room, nor have I eaten at the Four Cornered Steakhouse. But in my handful of times coming here with my folks. these are my thoughts. Again, "good but not there yet." Hopefully as times goes on, tweaks will continue to be made to ensure the vibrancy of this entertainment spot that is a great financial fuel to this area. I will come visit again with my folks despite my 3 star rating.
