The only reason this review isn't 1 star is because of the amazing front desk lady. She was kind, accommodating, and clearly doing her best in a difficult situation. Unfortunately, the stay was a disaster. Our first room had a toilet that didn't work and was visibly dirty. The water wasn't coming out of the spout, and we were later informed the hotel was experiencing water issues. We were moved to a clean room, which seemed like an improvement--until we pulled back the sheets on one of the beds and found blood stains. Absolutely disgusting. With no other clean rooms available, we had to share the remaining bed, which felt far from ideal under the circumstances. Our stay was brief--just 4 hours--but during that time, we couldn't brush our teeth or shower due to the water issues. We didn't even dare to eat the breakfast, despite it being open. This experience was deeply disappointing and well below expectations for a SpringHill Suites property. I hope management addresses these serious issues. read more

Stayed here again this time for pleasure and wasn't pleasured. Upon check in the guy at the counter was extremely rude. Not just a little rude but VERY rude. I thought I could ignore and chalked it up to him just having a bad day. Once we got upstairs to get settled for the evening, turned the tv on to watch the NBA playoffs and 5 minutes into the show a message pops up saying the tv needed to reboot. I thought was odd but I allowed it to reboot but it turned off instead of restarting. SO I turned it back on. Was watching again and 5 minutes in I got the same message and the tv turned off again. I turned it back on and again maybe 10 minutes in the same thing occurred. I called downtstairs to let the guy know at the first desk and I said, hi I am in room so and so and ......he starts yelling saying I KNOW THE TV DOESN"T WORK IT IS PROPERTY WIDE AND WE HAVE TOLD IT AND THEY ARE AWARE. I say okay and hang up. This is maybe at 8:00. So we continued the evening watching a few minutes tv going off and me turning it back on. I called back down around 11:30 and asked if there are any updates, and I was yelled at again....I said, Hi this is room blah blah and I was calling to see if there was an update.......he says: I ALREADY TOLD YOU IT IS AWARE AND I DON"T KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE FIXED. So needless to say, the tv never worked properly. I would not stay here again. I did also contact Marriott corporate. They responded and said they were researching to have a response for me in the next 5 days. read more

This place is a complete rip off. I booked a room for 1 night and paid for my room on booking .com before hand. I wanted to do ut early, as it was a scheduled conference way in advance. I paid 189.00 for one night. When I got there they asked me to leave a cc on file for "incidental's" so I did. They charged my card for the room that night again, this time for $210.00. I made no less than 20 phone calls to get it off my card. I flagged the charge as fraud and they took it off. Then they proceeded to put it back on every month for 6 months. I would get the cc to take it off and they would put it back!!! So. one night in this SHIT HOLE cost almost 400.00!!! I hope they CHOKE ON IT!! I will never darken the door of a Marriott hotel of ANY KIND ANYWHERE again! read more

Stopped by for one night enroute to down south. The hotel is bit hidden in the back. I checked in via the app, showed my ID, got my key and up I went. Pros: - right off the highway - lots of food options, Popeyes, chick-fil-a, Panda Express etc -friendly staff member - breakfast is served, granted it's a la carte. Cons: - dated, could use upgrade - couch was old, worn-out and had some stains on it. - fridge could use a fix, couldn't tell if it was working or not - other guests walking around without masks While the "Mask Required" sign is up, it's not enforced. All the staff was friendly and helpful for the three days we were here. Since we are in the COVID days, the Lobby seating and breakfast area are closed and all staff were wearing masks. They had To-Go Breakfast bags with a muffin or Danish; a banana, apple or orange; and a water bottle. For coffee or tea, we had to go up to the receptionist and they served it. The interior is an average Three Star Marriott hotel, meaning not fancy but not low-end. It's in a great location, within walking distance to Books A Million, Old Navy, Dairy Queen, Logan's, and a gas station. Walmart is about 10 minutes away and was the best Walmart I can remember being in. 4 stars for Friendliness and Location and how they are dealing with COVID. read more

Needs major update: mattress provided no back support, electric outlets & lighting lacking, and the room's floor was uneven. The room was clean, but stank of odor concealers & I wondered whether there was any fresh air brought into the room. I'm a lifetime "silver elite member" with 282 recorded nights in Marriott hotels, three years with more than 50 nights. Most of those were in the DC area, and never had a complaint. This is the second time I'm posting major grievances, one in Kansas and then this one in Terre Haute IN. In the case of this hotel, I wonder whether Marriott purchased the building from a lower class hotel chain and then replaced the carpet, wallpaper, and fixtures. read more

We were in town for the night and needed a place to stay, and I like the Marriott brand. The room was clean and was nicely furnished, but I didn't like the bathroom sink being outside the bathroom. The mattress was also really uncomfortable and we both woke up with our hips hurting, making us feel about 30 years older than we actually are. We didn't really use any of the amenities as we were just there for a place to sleep overnight. There were a number of kids in the hotel that were running and playing in the hallways during the day, but absolutely no issues with noise or kids at night. Check-In staff was professional to the point of almost being unfriendly. Housekeeping staff that I ran into the next morning in the hallway was super nice and friendly. If I'm back in town, I'd certainly stay here again. read more

Stayed there in August of 2019 for one night, and had an excellent stay. The room was clean, fresh, with newer décor and no visible signs of wear and tear. The front desk staff was excellent and met all of our needs, and the morning breakfast was also top notch with a nice assortment of the usual breakfast items and some nice upgrades as well. The location was very convenient to nearby family in West Terre Haute, and super easy to get on and off of I-70, but it is set-back off of US 41 a bit to the East and through a parking lot, so you have to know that its back there otherwise you'd miss it. That and there are some nice amenities nearby including Books-A-Million right next door, and a Dairy Queen (which my wife and I walked to for dessert) just across the parking lot. We did notice some noise when we were outside and it turned out to be the Terre Haute Action Track where - yes, just 1/2 mile away on Sunday evening - the Sprint Cars were racing! Yet once inside, you couldn't hear them at all. Nice stay and highly recommended. Four Stars. read more

Great room but the staff is rude and very racist, overweight black woman up front made it a point to talk to me (white woman) abt a mask every chance she got however whenever my boyfriend (black male) came in the lobby without a mask she joked around with him and never mentioned anything to him about a mask. Lovely place for Terre Haute! I got a mother-of-all-deals thru the Price Negotiator for my 1-night stay. The front desk staff had no issues with my late-night check in. My suite was clean and comfy [mini fridge, microwave, free wifi, living room area, king-size bed], and the breakfast was good. Despite my "meh-ness" about not being right next to ISU, I'll definitely keep this on my radar if I have to spend the night in Terredise again. read more

The room is clean, quiet. The television screen is really dark and we couldn't find any way to brighten the picture. Our request for a room on the top floor and away from the elevator was granted and we sincerely appreciate that. Comfortable bed, but sadly no full size refrigerator, like many of the other Springfields, for the x number of pounds of frozen green chile that we're taking with us to NJ. If you enjoy softness, this is definitely your place. Unfortunately when we arrived there was only a wheelchair accessible room available, even though we did book a double queen suite ahead of time. The beds were tiny and with five of us, two adults and three teens, four of us spent much of the night praying we didn't fall off the bed. Our booked double queens were most likely double beds, possibly smaller. Showers were hot, breakfast was not bad though it's your standard "hot breakfast" at most chain lodging options: powder eggs, turkey sausage, a variety of breads, waffle maker, cereal, oatmeal, juice, tea, and coffee. So there is definitely food for anyone that is hungry. I appreciated the savory options, as I am not a sweet breakfast eater. The staff was outstandingly friendly. The lovely gal that was there at check-in just made our initial experience so nice. Her friendly and chipper demeanor were just what we needed after driving the majority of the day away. However, the three star review really comes down to the beds...at the end of the day you need a comfortable and clean place to stay to be ready to take on the next day. It was clean, but the comfort (for us) was not on par. read more

Looks nice and friendly staff but not to Marriott standards - and I say that as someone who stays too many nights at hotels with Marriott as my preference. Their site sends a guest far away from their property for some strange reason. Despite calling to the front desk twice, we were not told this when asking directions until we checked in. Then we were told this is a constant problem for years. Why not fix it? It cost us precious time. The breakfast area was noisy and understaffed. I've rarely heard more distracting noises even after the people largely left. Forget trying to read or even watch television downstairs. And the rooms are designed in the most unusual, poor manner. Did they hired architects who flunked out? Little things I've become accustomed to at Marriott were missing, like curtesy umbrellas, were missing. I tend to stay in a lot of SpringHill suites throughout the year, so most of my rating is a comparative analysis. Because of this, I found this particular location to be outdated. The fixtures in my room were a little worn down and made of that brass finish more popular in 80s/90s decor. Needs an update. read more

Hubby and I just got home from Terre Haute, Indiana today. We spent 3 nights in the SpringHill Suites and had a wonderful experience. It seems like this hotel is pretty new...or at least they do a good job of keeping it feeling that way. We arrived to check in around 6pm and 'happy hour' was going on in the lobby. There was a cocktail bar and appetizer type foods (chips and salsa, etc) available. The lobby has a cozy yet trendy feel to it. We were very satisfied with our room. Free wireless internet, comfortable bed, spacious yet cozy room, and a great free breakfast are all things that we really appreciated about this hotel. There is an indoor pool and hot tub that we did use. It was very nice (heated pool) and towels are provided at the pool so you don't have to bring the ones from your room. The location of this hotel is also great. Right off the freeway and surrounded by plenty of options for food, shopping, etc (well as good as it's going to get in Terre Haute, IN anyway). read more

Very surprised by how bad my experience was here. Check-in took about ten minutes despite being the only customer; the elevator shook; the hallway was hot and muggy; the room had a strange smell; the carpet around the AC was completely soaked; the Ethernet didn't work (which was not noted anywhere); and weirdly enough, the phone was labeled with the wrong room number. The staff were very nice and the room was clean, but this location did not meet my expectation of Marriott by a long shot. read more

The hotel is clean and the staff is very nice, but the mattresses are AWEFUL! I had the worst sleep, which I really needed for a big day of business. It was like sleeping on a brick! I have never stayed at a Marriott and had such a bad experience. This hotel must be the exception. They offered to let me stay at a different hotel (in the middle of the night), but the alternates at the Fairfield Inn or Holiday Inn were not available because they were fully booked. The occupancy at Springhill Suites however, was sparse! I can see why no one is staying here - you can not sleep! Isn't that the main point of staying at a hotel? read more

Very clean and appropriately furnished. Pillows are too soft for me, but that's just personal preference. Double up on them & it's fine. Breakfast good for "free breakfast". Good selection of cereal, yogurt, pastries, etc. plus the fresh waffles were nice. Eggs are powder based and are what they are, but they do have hot sauce or ketchup to drown them in. Price was reasonable. Difficult to find if you're not looking quick enough. It's behind the Holiday Inn (use same driveway). Would stay there again. read more

This hotel is not worth the price. Rooms are pleasant but a little cramped. One tv placed between two rooms does not work too well for viewing. Staff were rather stiff behind the counter. Other house staff did something I had never seen before. They were repeatedly getting in line for food and taking up donuts to the rooms where they were supposed to be cleaning. I guess I expected them to be actually working instead of helping themselves to the guest food. Hint perhaps if your staff stopped stuffing themselves with the food patrons paid for you cou Dld lower your outrageous prices. Driving across country from the East Coast to Kansas, we needed a place to lay our weary heads, and Terre Haute was a logical stopping point. I often stay at the adjacent Best Western because it's pet-friendly, and that's a nice place, but I found the SpringHill Suites using Yelp reviews and was happy to try a new place. We sprung for a jacuzzi room, and we really got a jacuzzi, not a bathtub with jets in it. The bed was super-comfortable and the suite included a refrigerator and sitting area. Perfectly comfortable and clean, and we had a lovely evening in Terre Haute--that's saying something! ;) read more

Stayed at the hotel 24th and 25th of May and on or about June 15, 2018 A pending charge was placed on my credit card from Springhill Suites Terre Haute, Indiana! Contacted Tetrre Haute Suites only to be told no one there would have run a transaction on your card! I was told however they would look into charge and call me back Twice. Then the Manager and the next day left on vacation per employee and said they would look into and call me. You guessed I had to call them only to be told they have no record of the transaction! However, Bank of America shows SpringHill Suites pending charge! Cancelled card and two days later the pending transactions fall off due to no charge after 5 days. I'm very lucky I watch my Credit and Debit Cards! read more

Stayed here a week and a half and was very pleased. I had one of 6 or so rooms with a whirlpool hot-tub in the bedroom near a nice and comfy king size bed. A sitting area with a work-desk and a wet bar were separated by a wall, but open to my bedroom and the large LCD HD TV swiveled to support both rooms. The staff was courteous and the hotel had a "new" feel to it. I was a bit disappointed that the exercise room consisted only of treadmills. As a tip, the hotel was a bit hard to find, as it's tucked behind the Holiday Inn that fronts the highway and they share an entry driveway. read more

We stayed in the accessible room and found everything about the room was in good condition. Visited July 2016. Updated hotel with good design. I appreciate the shower/toilet room with sink and mirror in separate area. Good for travelers with small dorm fridge and microwave. Wish the fridge had a freezer for our ice packs. Contemporary, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fine. We arrived late and left early. Met our needs. I'd stay here again. It is tough to find. May want to turn left at the Speedway and come in from the south strip mall parking lot. When will hotels add 240V EV chargers? They have a 120V plug in front you can use. read more

Just a warning to secure your vehicles, I had several thousands of dollars worth of property stolen out of my truck the 2nd night of my stay, no cameras covering the parking lot. Not the staff's fault of course, just an unfortunate reality of Terre Haute. Hotel management was very helpful in attempts to recover it minimize my loss. I highly recommend this hotel. I travel for work and for me, a friendly and accommodating staff go a long way and make the stay more enjoyable, this hotel falls into this category for me. read more

Room was nice and comfortable and quiet. Breakfasts of scrambled eggs and sausage patties were delicious. I would have been able to give five stars except when I asked if they could refill the coffee in the late morning so that I could get that boost in the morning, they once the coffee is gone, that's it, they don't make anymore. Actually, one of the coffees ran out around 8a and they never refilled it. I'm a platinum member and never experienced that at a Marriott where they fill the coffee once a day and refuse requests for more. For me coffee is a big part of my morning, that's why four stars instead of five. read more
