I have been practicing at the Yoga Den for 25 years, and it has been such a meaningful part of my life. Over the years, I have grown not only in my yoga practice but also as a person. The welcoming atmosphere, wonderful teachers, and sense of community have kept me coming back year after year. There is something very special about walking through the doors and immediately feeling comfortable, supported, and at peace.  Leeza, the owner of the studio, is a huge part of what makes the Yoga Den so special. Her care, vision, and dedication have created a space where everyone feels valued.

I have been a student of Leeza's since 2017 (mind you very sporadically because of my FT work…read moreschedule) when I embarked on a Yoga Teacher training for my own health journey. I had toured a couple schools (closer to home and "less expensive"), but Leeza's knowledge, wisdom, experience, energy and overall love for ancient yoga practices is like nothing else I found near me. I told her I didn't want to teach when I signed up....of course she said "that's not how it works"....and almost 10 years later I finally embrace what she meant. I now love sharing practices that have helped me heal (completely halt/in remission) a Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. Not only does she offer yoga classes, but music/voice lessons, meditation, breathwork, cleanse retreats (WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!), awesome workshops, and all kinds of fun events that all help a soul heal, renew, revive and THRIVE! I showed up today for a class (which i didn't register for) that had ended up being cancelled. Had one other student show up as well and Leeza welcomed us with open arms and we had our own little private music/chanting session which was exactly what I needed! No matter how long I've been away, she ALWAYS welcomes me with open arms and most importantly and open heart! Each session offers a beautiful opportunity to slow down, relax, and reconnect with myself. The sound baths, including the paired singing bowls and gong sessions, are deeply relaxing and create such a peaceful atmosphere. I've also really enjoyed the thoughtful themes, including the 7-week Chakra Healing series, The Four Agreements, Alchemizing Anger, etc. Each theme brings something meaningful to reflect on and carry into everyday life. They sell crystals, bracelets, and some smoke cleansing items. I did manage to buy good quality bracelets, and some crystals in the store. I went for a sound bath and aura reading. The sound bath takes place in a separate wood floored room. I brought a yoga mat and laying on the floor really hurt my back (I have back issues already) so perhaps next time I will bring something more comfortable. I felt relaxed after the sound bath though. The aura reading was odd to me because a computer program reads the aura for you and the shop owner expands on that. Other aura readings have been much different where they take a pic and all the reading is done by a person without the assistance of a computer program. I did like that i got a copy of the reading via email after. That was nice and I hadn't had that before.

There is so much care, precision, and love dedicated to the space, making sure to keep the vibration as high as possible. Very accepting and understanding energy - which was super intimidating at first! I was able to center my Earth Star with Lori's help and it was really disorienting at first, but I knew it's what my soul really needed as I've been "out of body" for most of my life. Long overdue but I took a sound bath with Lori and it was amazing, she has great artistic talent. I…read moretook a pendelum class and it was helpful. I took a reiki 1 certification course and on the second day, she got weird. To me she felt a little paranoid of "bad energy" and even stopped the class to provide my sister and I a "reiki cleanse" as in her own word she needed "to detach" from the energy. I didnt think much of it at first and respected her judgement since I thought, "she must know what she's talking about" but after reflecting more on it and allowing time and my own search, I see it as unprofessional and almost borderline paranoid. Her anxiety got projected onto mine. Even my sister felt the same. The reason I went along with it was because I didn't know what to expect, I've never had an experience like that one as I was hoping to seek a more holistic humanistic one. Its been a year so maybe she's worked through that fear of her, who knows. But this was my experience when attending a year ago. Lots of "do and don't". Weird.
