    Outside -- Saturday, 31 August 2019
    Agnes I.

I visited recently over labour day weekend on 31 August 2019 because the store had some extra discounts for the holiday. I came in to browse their furniture collection but I ended up not buying anything. I first visited Common Threads in the Fall of 2017 when they had a "Ladies Night" sale. The event was super fun because the store had a special sale, snacks to nibble on, drinks, and there was a presentation by "The Salvaged Boutique" - an upcycle business in Lakewood. I don't remember what I ended up buying but I bought something. CLOTHES, DECOR, & FURNITURE -- They sell men's and women's second hand clothing (used). The clothes are obviously not top class but you may actually find some 'off season' designer brands on the shelves. I am pretty sure I saw some designer clothes when I visited. They also sell all sorts of decorative items such as candles, pillows, etc. They have a furniture section too which is small and needs more variety. - They also sell household items such as appliances for your kitchen. - They have a ton of BOOKS for sale too. I bought a paperback book for .38 cents (originally .50 cents) when I visited over the Labour Day holiday. COMMUNITY IMPACT -- Net proceeds from Common Threads benefits Building Hope in the City, a Cleveland faith based non-profit organisation. This is one of the main reasons why I love this store. The fact that 100% of sales go towards charity is amazing. DONATIONS -- The store recently expanded to include a whole separate area next door for customer donations. You can bring (donate) your gently used clothes, furniture, books, kitchen appliances, and more into the store. There is a separate entrance to the donation section of the store - just head outside of the main store and you will see a "Donations" sign. There is a parking lot outside the building. The lot is shared with the other businesses in the area. DEALS -- The store has permanent discounts for every day of the week called "Daily Deals" so for example, Thursdays are 50% off all clothing and Saturdays have 25% off storewide. You can really find some great deals here so I recommend that you visit. Right now, teachers get 30% off their entire purchase until 30 September 2019. Voted the best thrift store in 2017 and 2018 by Cleveland Scene magazine, you definitely need to visit this store. **** - 124 total reviews in 2019 - 333 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 4 September 2019

Great finds here at great prices. Sales in departments daily . The store is clean and organized , and displays that are as good as department stores or better . You will find yourself coming back regularly, maybe even taking on volunteer work or a job . Also the employees here are helpful and sweet, that's why I started volunteering .There is something for everyone even a vintage clothing area .This organization also helps within the community with a faith based organization called Building Hope In The City.So while you shop you help others .

BUYER BEWARE! I purchased an item that was tagged by the store as "Brand new, never used". This item was suppose to be a Christmas gift. Upon opening, the item was absolutely NOT brand new. There was stuff splattered on the outside of it and food crusted on the inside. I spend ALOT of money, I donate to their non profit (both monetary and items to resell), etc. From a moral standpoint, the store manager (Anthony) should have done the right thing and refunded my money. Instead, he cared nothing about what I had to say and stood there and argued that he didn't agree that the item had been used. I will never donate or step foot in their location again. This situation was not right at all!

Amish dining table with 6 chairs and 4 extensions. I got it for just $350!

More like a goodwill. Not anything special in terms of a resale store. Maybe stop in if you're in the area, not worth an extra drive.

The Fairview Park shop is a nice combination of clothes and some great bric a brac. Located in a medium sized plaza the Discovery Shop is also medium sized, always clean and well organized and you can find some great finds. Each week they have a 50% off color and the last weekend of the month everything in the store is 50% off. At this store I have found some really good clothes finds, especially on the men's clearance rack where the cost is $1 per item. I have found suit jackets, shirts and pants, while the men's selection is not large, what they have is usually very good and high quality. I have noticed that this store has a much larger selection of women's clothes. The store usually has a nice small selection of dishes, kitchenware and art; they do have some really interesting items up near the register, they often have some pieces from Europe, Asia and Africa. The selection seems to change everytime I have visited, nothing seems to last long at this shop. As an example I found a really nice leather motorcycle bag for under $10. The Fairview Park Discovery Shop is a fun and diverse place to do some thrifting; not the biggest store, but they really do a great job of making sure that they are selling high quality items at great prices. Not the kind of thrift store you are going to spend hours at, but well worth a visit whenever you are in the area to check out what they have. Plus the proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society which is a very worthwhile charity.

I watched as staff rolled out large shopping carts and filled them with items that had the colored tags for the half off special for that day. Three employees were engaged in this. One was pulling orange tag (that days sale) items from each section, and wheeling the carts into the back so no one could get any orange tag items for half off that day. The other two looked like they were stocking new items, but they were simply putting items back they had pulled the day before so no one could get half off of those items. I found zero orange tag shoes, games, women's clothing, etc. I will contact corporate and ask if this is indeed how they do business. Add: prices are NOT thrift prices. They wanted $14 for a dirty no name blazer, for instance. Lots of items are just junk. This place used to be fun to shop at but now you won't get sales as well as seeing stuff like dirty, lidless storage bins for sale for $8. There are no dressing rooms, either. There are better thrift stores than this corporate scam.

I visited in July 2024 with a friend because she wanted to buy a dress for a party she was attending the next day so I drove her here. She ended up finding a dress that she liked. I wasn't planning on buying anything but I ended up getting a pair of red flats for $9.29. As expected, their shoe selection for my size, which is above a size 10, was limited so I was happy to find cute red flats that were my size. The store is quite large and very clean. If I'm looking for a cheap pair of shoes again or a simple dress then I'll certainly be back. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 71/150 total reviews in 2024 - 721 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 18 July 2024

I ended up purchasing an item; hence, the reason I am writing this review. WHAT (type of store) -- Magically Found is a quirky shop filled with random items such as candles, cards, tea cups, etc. The owner was super friendly during my visit. She explained that this shop has what a grandmother living in an English cottage would keep at her house. ITEMS -- The owner explained this to be a witchy store hence the name "Magic" is in the store name. I am not into witch things neither do I believe in that but the store has many other items to buy. They sell matches, candles, candle stick holders, tea cups, and other random items. I bought a little square container ($9) that has a strawberry shaped top/cover. It can be used for anything such as to put earrings in or even cubed sugar. I still haven't decided what I'll use mine for but it is in my kitchen for now. I never knew this store existed in Lakewood but I'm glad to have stopped by. If you like antique or older items then stop on inside and support this small, local business. **** - 80/150 total reviews in 2023 - 631 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 9 November 2023

I've now shopped here multiple times and am always impressed by the thoughtful selections she so expertly curates. Whether you need a gift, want to buy yourself something, or just want your vibrations raised, this is the place to go. The store is just a feast for your eyes. It has a strong Practical Magic flare to it (and you may even hear its magical soundtrack playing). Dried herbs and flowers hang from the ceiling, taper candles are nestled into the most unsuspecting corners, and vintage wares are everywhere to be discovered. Rebecca self-describes her shop as "Eclectic Granny Decor, Cottage Witch Vibes" according to Instagram. As I type this, I have a taper candle made with dried flowers burning inside of a vintage owl holder. I love this shop and could truly buy everything in here. Rebecca is so creative and makes a number of the store products and is always putting together speciality boxes (think Taylor Swift themed, etc.). Come and visit this enchanting store when you really have the time to wade through it and soak it all in. I promise you'll fall in love! Easy metered parking is outside.

The store was well organized; however they have tags with different colors and where I'm from those colors tend to coordinate with daily sales so I asked a lady who worked there what they meant and she said usually they have daily sales but everything was 50% off today and I even clarified "only holiday stuff?" And she responded the whole store so I was all gongho, filling my hands with shirts and unnecessary holiday decor cuz everything is so cheap, only to get to the register and I hear everyone in line complaining about what the signs posted all over the store states. Apparently last week if you spent $50, they sent you a coupon for 50% off and you would have to know that in order to understand there is no sale whatsoever unless you have that coupon. So why not take the dumb signs down? What a headache for everyone. Also, maybe educate your employees because they also do not understand. Sincerely, a customer who is unimpressed with this experience and probably will skip next time we're in town.
